They were troubled times that three (3) Mexican drug lords battled for territory until there was a last man standing

In a single word I would have to describe this particular episode documenting the life and times of Mexican drug lord "El Chapo", Joaquín Guzmán as "Captivating". Captivating not in a fairy tale kind of way, but in a patient, strategic and violent way is how this documentary outlines Joaquín Guzmán's slow and methodical rise to the very top of the cocaine kingdom in all of Mexico.

The story outlines "El Chapo" Joaquín Guzmán's early life and how his savvy business acumen allowed him to continually get the upper hand on both his competitors and the law in both Mexico and the United States. This documentary clearly provides the deadly lives these three (3) drug lords and their gangs lived, and how lucrative the financial rewards were in manufacturing and distributing cocaine. Not only do we learn of the psyche of Joaquín Guzmán and what made him tick, this episode of Kingpin provides in depth knowledge of his two main competitors and their eventual downfall.

If you are expecting to see an abundance of drugs, high living, T&A, then this documentary series is just not for you. What is delivered through the Kingpin series as Sergeant Joe Friday from the 1950's TV crime series would say is "just the facts mam".
