Warning: Spoilers
Number 5 is bad-ass. Don't much info about him but he seems he has the key of apocalypse and he has an unusual clue. 2 gun loaded black suits whose names are Hazel and Cha Cha go forward to number 5. Things get hot at the Gimbel Brothers. The Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" song is perfect fit the scenario. Also 2 another songs are in match. Woodkids' " Run Boy Run" for number 5s jumping through time sessions and Paloma Faiths' "Never Tear Us Apart" for the final session. Allison finds detail about their fathers death while she was dip into their video-typed memories. Or Pogo wants her to find?

Poo sandwich but on really nice bread

The opening scenes and the final 10 minutes were amazing. However the filling inbetween was remarkably dreary. The 20 minutes or so of greatness give me hope though

With thought-provoking writing and superb acting, Run Boy Run continues the first season in solid fashion Warning: Spoilers
As I said before, I'm not a huge fan of the comic book series this show is based on but after a promising first episode, I continued watching the first season and this second episode is great.

It continues the world-building and established characters really well. Also, the character of Number Five is really compelling with a well-written motivation on why he uses his time-traveling powers thanks to Aidan Gallagher (from Modern Family) giving a solid performance as a thirteen year old kid acting like an adult. Even the main characters continue to be likable with everyone continuing to give superb performances. There's an action sequence where Number Five gets attacked by two Commission agents named Cha-Cha and Hazel inside a store while the song "Don't Stop Me Now" plays on the background and it's amazing to watch. The comedy, much like the first episode is really funny. Everything else, along with the music score and editing, is handled really well.

Overall, Run Boy Run is another great episode of a really promising 1st season. Thumbs up. :)

Temporary chaos

A more dynamic episode with more development of the plot and characters, has the perfect point of action and adds interesting touches of comedy, an incredible scene of number five escaping in pain with Queen music in the background generating a very catchy atmosphere.

I Still Need to Figure It Out
Hitchcoc20 September 2023
First of all, I had no idea this is based on a comic book series. I have had about enough of them infesting the entire movie industry. That doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed some of them, but it means that for those whose lives don't center around these things, we need a watcher's guide. That said, I thought this was interesting. Number 5 is at the center of things and knows how the world ends. He has salvaged a manufactured eyeball that seems to have some significance. Of course, he is a product of the Umbrella Academy. We all know how it came about, but we don't know the motivation. We get occasional flashbacks that fill things in. I'm hoping to find out why 5 is being pursued by a military force. Why is he the target? I'm assuming organized crime of some kind. The torturing of the poor guy from the auto shop was over the top, considering he knew nothing. I guess I'll give it a third shot.

#5 certainly was an undisciplined jacka$$ as a kid wasn't he??

Haha. +1 Star for Playing some Adam Ant.

Okay I'm still not sold on the talking monkey butler so until his existence gets explained he gets a -1 Star

+1 Star for the end 'Never Tear Us Apart' sequence where all the star characters are dead, that was kinda fun

6/10 for Ep2.

Distractions...
songod-9500320 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There are few things that are keeping me from truly enjoying this show. No it isn't the talking ape, he is pretty cool. And the drugged out member of the group is truly one of the highlights.

One is Luthor. His physique is obviously fake. I see him and I say "Padding" so every scene he is in takes me out of the moment.

Another is Number Five. What did he expect? Returning looking like the kid he left as after 17 years trying to explain, if even to one or two, that the world is going to end in 7-8 days, of course no one was just going to believe it. His condescension is annoying.

Diego's attitude is right out of every single comic\fantasy adaption. There is always one member of a team that is an arrogant jerk. I easily predict he will warm up as the show goes on. Yawn.

Then there is dear Ellen Page. This is at least the third project I have seen her in where she is dressed asexually. She seems to, in this role, have removed any evidence she is female. Only because her face is familiar and she has not become Elliot Page do I know it is a her. Good for her, actually! She has expressed major displeasure over being a woman in show business. Maybe coming out as gay did not 100% fulfill her "self" so she picks roles now that do not require dresses, tank tops, shorts, or anything that might give away that she is actually a girl. By comparison, Kristin Stewart acknowledges she is a woman and even has done a couple nude scenes since coming out. Hey, whatever works so long as you can remain working.

Finally the story is trite. End of the world coming. Have only days to stop it. Evil time travelers who for some reason want our world to end chasing the one who knows it will. Blah Bah.

More questions than answers

After the wonder of first episode wore off I am now looking for answers and not finding any, basically just rehashing the first episodes quandaries and leaving you with an "okay, but why?". Decent acting and cinematography.

Snoozefest
Junker7330 June 2019
I hoped this series will get some momentum after very mediocre first episode, but nope, still gloomy and boring. Looks to me like an interesting story for maybe one movie was stretched out to fill whole season? Definitely bad writing, acting didn't impress me either. Good music though, and I still hope it will get better, so 5/10.

discgolf-7333420 July 2021
This and the first episode was so bad it made me quit the show. "Stick with it" yeah I know, this failed to interest me and it's the makers' fault.

You better run, boy

No improvement in the story-telling department. This may have been very popular as a Dark Horse comic, but it is crap as a television show.

Run, before your time is forever lost.

Next episode will tell if I keep watching this crap fest
