Seething: Beyond dire
Platypuschow30 March 2018
Now as my profile will attest to I'm not in the business of aimlessly giving movies 1/10. Such a rating suggests the film has absolutely no redeeming qualities and they don't come along all that often.

Here we have yet another found footage independent movie and on their Youtube channel they claim that it's " Not just another horror movie" and "We put our own spin on it". Let me be clear this IS just another horror movie and I'm not sure what "Spin" they put on it but it wasn't recognisable.

3 boys in an apartment drinking and talking absolute nonsense, arguably some of the most annoying characters I've ever seen. They believe they are being stalked and *Sigh* from there the baffling, non-sensical and truly awful story begins.

This was another one of those films so obscure it wasn't even on IMDB at time of watching, I believe every movie deserves an audience and should have it's own spotlight so I've added it but I'd be surprised if it gets much love. (Outside its cast, crew and subsequent parents/friends)

Seething is a deserving 1/10, no originality, most of the usual found footage tropes and a cast who should seriously reconsider their career choice if this is it.

Worst film I've seen in months, dire stuff.

The Good:

Dodges a couple of found footage tropes

The Bad:

Most annoying characters in the history of cinema?

No originality

A mess from start to finish

Sound is really shoddy

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

A script is not complete unless you can fit 3 profanitys into every sentence.

One of the best no-budget horrors I've ever seen

TL;DR: Found Footage die hards need this in their life! Give it a try.

This impressed me quite a bit! All of the things that I see people complaining about are what I actually thought made this movie so effective.

The audio is bad, yes, but it adds to the realism of the found footage aspect of this film. I thought the plot was well written, intriguing, and well acted. Especially, for a student film made with probably next to no budget.

The creature design and the way it is used is extremely effective and super creepy. This is one of the few horror movies I've seen that actually managed to scare me. And they didn't even use any cheap jump scares!

I understand why people don't like it, but I think its more of a case of people not. being a fan of the found footage genre.

This was incredible! Especially when you factor in the limitations that the creators of this project were working with. But they managed to play to their strengths and use their disadvantages to their benefit.

If you are a fan of FF, you owe it to yourself to at least check it out. In my book this is a hidden gem among piles and piles of absolutely garbage found footage horror. Best of all, you can watch it for free on the creators YouTube page!
