Good, not great.
anmishoe22 December 2018
This film is worth a go, especially at 75 minutes. I enjoyed it but would have done the final scene differently. It needed a little more vengeance.

It deserves better reviews.
Patient4444 January 2019
At least in my opinion, because if you take in consideration its budget, actors, location, all that was necessary to build it, I think Fracture came out just great!

Simple yet effective, a situation where less is more, without over stretching, without relying on gore or torture porn, a simple invasion horror movie that delivers on its premise. Good use of mystery, managed to keep me intrigued from start to finish and I have to say, I wish more such productions would take in consideration to keep it as natural as they can without going to great lengths to show either bad CGI or a terrible conclusion.

Fracture is a lovely little indie movie! Recommended!

Cheers!

Nice Little Thriller
Fancytower5 January 2019
We enjoyed this thriller or mystery. Acting was good although the characters seemed a bit over the top, we still liked it. Definitely makes you think twice about helping out strangers. Well done!

I Watched The Wrong Movie, But I Really Enjoyed It
slightlymad2228 October 2019
I was advised to watch something called Fractured starring Sam Worthington, but I watched the wrong movie, and stumbled on this by mistake.

I do not like horror movies, so I would not usually have chose to watch this, but I enjoyed it a great deal.

It's very low budget, there are only 6 people in the cast and none of them are particularly well known (unless you watch your UK soaps) I only knew Louise Lytton from Eastenders.

It is creepy, the acting is good, has a good sense of atmosphere and moves at a decent pace, but what makes this movie for me was a twist in the middle of the movie, that A, I did not see coming and B, totally turned the movie on its head.

If you like your creepy horror movies and love a good twist, then check this out.

Surprisingly impressed

What a clever little story. I was not expecting much and based on the fact that the credits comprises of five people, it feels like I found a little gem

Drags on
Watcher4211 December 2018
On paper this probably seemed like an amazing idea. On film it just drags.

There's a rather big twist, which initially I really liked. But it just outstayed its welcome until it lost its edge and any potency it might have had on the outcome. For a film only 1hr 15mins long it felt longer, and not in a good way.

And unfortunately, as is the norm for many horror / thrillers, the characters do many things that left me thinking 'why would you do that?' which breaks any sort of suspension of disbelief.

For a low budget effort this is fairly well acted and directed, which made it watchable, although its totally forgettable.

Unusual British story with a twist
paul-ayres-607849 February 2019
I was't expecting the twist in this story and it came as a welcome surprise just as I had almost given up on this tale. It is badly paced I think but also shows some original ideas, camerawork and editing. The biggest let down for me was April Pearson. Her body language is good and she acts well in all respects except the way she delivers her lines. It is always obvious to me that she is acting. I thought the same of her performances in Skins. Perhaps it's just me.. The rest of the cast were adequate but not really challenged in their roles. The movie has plenty of atmosphere and the twist makes it well worth watching.

2/10 is being generous

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this and persisted with it based on the reviews, but it's really poor.

It reminded me of a film made as part of a school/university project. The screenplay was poor, the acting wasn't particularly good and the story had far too many flaws.

The 'twist' is just unbelievable based on the first half of the film. The main actress is a complete wet lettuce in the first half and scared of her own shadow, completely at odds with the truth. I'm also not sure on the plausibility of a scared victim deciding to hunt down their attackers to brutally murder, rather than calling for medical help/the police.

That's before you even consider the likeliness of surviving two hammer blows to the head or somehow running after a car (despite severely injured with no shoes) for a number of miles.

If you have an hour and half to spare and consider watching this, I'd recommend that you don't and go and cut the grass with scissors instead.

worth a watch
MikesIDhasbeentaken2 December 2018
Nice idea, played out reasonably well. So i think worth a watch for anyone that thinks the premise sounds good.

the biggest downside is that the movie is made up of two halfs, when i think really as soon as you see the first 2 minutes of the second half you think, 'Ok i get it'.. but then you have to watch the best part of an hour what you got in the first 2 minutes play out in front of you.

worth a watch though

8 & 9's ????? Really???
gillpiggott25 November 2020
NEVER again will I trust reviewers on IMBD, This film is absolute dross! The premise is laughable, the execution insulting to anyone with a modicum of intelligence and the acting......all aforementioned. If films like this can get rated 8's & 9's then films like this will continue to plague us. I shall NEVER watch a film again with ANYONE connected to this, in it.

If you're a fan of home invasion movies then this one is for you!

Actually, even if you're not a fan of home invasion movies you may still want to check this one out because it's... a little different.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about it. The acting is very good, creepy isolated location, the camera work is fantastic and it's very suspenseful!

worth a watch
fenbrad8 January 2019
I liked the dialogue between the couple to me it came across quite well. Natural banter you might have between a couple. I only mention this because a few people have said the couple did not seem connected? I have never seen the actors in anything else like others have so i suppose that helped. I also did not need to know the back story or motives for why people do the things they do...sometimes people just are the way they are and it did not really need explaining. I enjoyed this film it is not going to blow your mind but is worth a watch a nice little indie thriller.

No Alva...
Astaroth2214 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
...the Swede IS stupid. And so was this movie!

We're honestly supposed to believe that Freyr would turn his back in this situation? And who wrote this mess? Apparently someone who has never been hit in the head before. No one could have done what Alva did under these circumstances. There is no concept of "time" with a serious head injury only confusion. But we're supposed to believe she's hit in the head with a hammer - twice - by killers who believed she was dead? Furthermore, open up someone's head and there's blood everywhere - paint cans full. She not only gets up unfazed with a mere dab but simultaneously strategizes while morphing into an Olympic athlete.

But wait - it gets worse.

She gets to a petrol station but instead of calling for help steals a car so she can follow her attackers. Never even a fleeting thought to get back to Freyr or remove herself from danger. Nope. She gets to the house and is able to hide in the shadows, sit on the couch to look at pictures, and put her stolen boots back on before taking out the criminals single-handedly? C'mon Man! If she's this cunning and powerful, how'd she get hit in the head in the first place?

This movie actually won an award? For what?

It's going to be an hour and a half of hapless victims tiptoeing around a spooky house. But halfway in it suddenly starts getting much more interesting.

The ending is not justified!!!!
autumn0900718 December 2018
It was a good movie until the end. I wanted to drop kick the girl for being so damn careless!! She was acting such a bad ass through the last twenty minutes of the damn movie until the end. I've never been so mad screaming at the TV. There was not enough suffering to justify what happened! I'm still mad.

Really not worth it
rebecca-ross28037 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film was pretty rubbish. The plot was weak, the characters were flawed. Half way through the film it went back to the beginning which didn't make sense at all.

It did amaze me that the serial killers ended up being complete wet lettuces and got killed by their victim.

Average revenge horror with a twist
tomgoodwin8155 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'd never heard of Fractured till I stumbled across it on Amazon Prime, and it's no surprise considering it's very low budget with very few actors and seemed to have gone under the radar completely. It clocks in at less than 80 minutes, one of the shortest films I've seen, and progresses in reverse timescale, thus separating it from some other, very similar films. The two main characters are set up as a fairly bland, friendly couple who are given no backstory or development particularly (we'll get to that later) but just kind of exist, standard horror characters on a deserted piece of road. Set over the course of one night, Michael and Becca drive through an isolated bit of countryside, encountering an odd petrol station worker, who Becca then believes to be following them, eventually arriving at a house which is hinted not to belong to them, but it's not made clear why they're there. The first half of the film passes by feeling easily watchable but somewhat pointless and essentially totally uneventful. Something's not right, clearly being watched, but they behave suspiciously nonchalant about that, which I first assumed to simply be some poor acting. Out of the blue, with no real reason, they are suddenly attacked and Michael is found stabbed to death. Flash back to several hours earlier, and they're hitching a lift from Alva and her non-English-speaking boyfriend, again another ordinary couple. They're suddenly revealed to be high-profile serial killers, who murder Alva's boyfriend and leave her for dead, stealing their car and also killing the petrol station worker along the way (who is revealed to in fact be terrified after identifying the couple from a news report about them). With events having passed in non-chronological order, Alva who is still alive follows the couple back to the house, which actually belongs to her, stabs Michael to death as shown before and inflicts the same fate upon Becca for killing her boyfriend. That's literally it. I'll give Fractured praise for doing things slightly differently to other revenge horror films like I Spit On Your Grave etc, but remove the non-chronological timescale and it is basically just that, the same film that's been made many times already with a very simple plot that will be enough to just about satisfy many horror fans. For a nighttime viewing it's decent enough if you've got nothing else you want to watch, and won't take a chunk out of anyone's life as it's over very quickly in under 80 minutes. The story probably could have been wrapped up in less than an hour given how simple it is, but fans of this type of film will read the description and know it's probably going to satisfy them for the running time. There's far better, similar films of this genre out there (In Fear, The Rental etc) but it's good enough to entertain if it's what you're into. Not bad.

I'll admit, I barely made it halfway through so maybe it gets better after that... But at least as far as I got to watch I was bored out of my freaking mind.

Waste of time
LaverneandShirleysucks17 February 2021
It tries too hard to be clever by showing things in a non linear timeline. For the first 40 minutes or so, we see nothing but a couple of boring, unlikable people heading to a house in the woods and bickering. From the get go, you feel that these two people are weird and not normal. In fact I hated them long before the reveal came to show who and what they actually were. At the 40 minute mark is where things pick up....but only a bit though. Bad things happen (I won't spoil)---and then we go back to the beginning and the film replays the first 40 minutes from a different viewer perspective. It should work, but it doesn't at all and fell with a huge thud for me. I love both horror and revenge stories, but this was shown in a way that tries too hard to be clever with the non linear telling of the story. Had it been told in a linear way though, it still would be just 3 stars for me because in the end...there's just no point or motive for what happens. It's thankfully short at 1 hour and 18 minutes, but man those first 40 minutes feel like twice the length because it's so boring. I don't know why i'm even giving this 3 stars---probably because I managed to sit through it to the end lol. I don't recommend this one.

Witty and suspenseful thriller flick
stroggos17 November 2018
Fractured follows Rebecca and Michael on their journey to a cottage in the countryside. It all starts out as a romantic weekend trip, but then you know how these kind of movies go...

I was very pleasantly surprised by "Fractured"... and I gotta say that I don't understand why it has such low average ratings. It's quite "pure" in its simple setup and its focus on just two people. The camerawork is great, and so is the acting. Overall, the movie is quite suspenseful, with some true nail-biters.

If you are a gorehound, you may not like this movie as there's relatively little on-screen violence. It's more about the wittiness and the psychology. I'd recommend this to anybody who liked such home invasion movies as "Hush" or "You're next".

Good Storytelling Twist
drcalighoulie4 January 2021
While not the most original plot, I found this to be a entertaining movie. When the plot flips and you begin to put the pieces together is when the movie comes to life. I think it smart choice that put a fresh twist on the story.
