Another great episode of the promising 1st season
Despite not being a fan of the comic book series, I watched the entirety of Season 1 of The Umbrella Academy and so far it got me completely hooked. It had a great premise (a comedic version of X-Men), done with great comedy and good drama, the acting from everyone involved is great, the action is pretty cool, and the music is good too.

Number Five is another great episode. Yes, the pacing could've been a little better, but that's my only quibble. Everything else is great. The story continues to intrigue me with thought-provoking writing, it's stupendous world building around the Umbrella Academy, and wonderful characters. The acting is still great with Aidan Gallagher continue to impress as Number Five while Tom Hooper and Robert Sheehan also do good jobs as Luther and Klaus (who continues to steal the show with not only his great comedy, but an even greater depth to him). The cinematography continues to be well made, the costumes are nice, and the music is still good.

Overall, another great episode of the promising 1st season. :)

There is not Good Guy or Bad Guy

Warning: Spoilers
Number 5 talk about the apocalypse. He is explained his past or their future. We learn he was not alone. There were his former employer. The Lady made a deal and he started to job that he is a hitman. By the way some part of the show which refer to Number 5s' hitman past seen simple and slipshod. But when I look at first 4 chapter, understand the director is especially shooting like that. Also referring assassination of Jfk is remarkable. Diego lost his ex-girlfriend and out of control. Still try to dosome plans. Klaus is accidentally travel to time and jump into 1968. When he came back he was miserable. Not exactly understand what is Vanyas' power. Number 5 make another deal with The Lady the cost is he will back to his hitman job. But his family will be safe. Also Leonard still keeps his mystery. Pogo start-up the mother. He and she keep secret but we don' t have any clue yet. In the end. The show has remarkable music choices and they are perfectly fit the chapters. Exactly the last song is lovely. The writer, singer and The Umbrella Academy story teller :) Gerald Way feats Ray Toro- Happy Together- In The Heat of The Moment-Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds Mary-Big Thief

Klaus on the Loose
Hitchcoc21 September 2023
Lots of stuff here. The team of Hazel and Cha Cha continue their efforts. They seem to be minimum wage earners from some intergalactic agency. When Klaus gets his hands on their suitcase, which allows them to jump back and forth in time, he goes to another time. After a year, he returns to the house, but he had just left in this dimension. He recognizes our two knuckleheads who are trying to find the suitcase. Vanya continues her quest for love and happiness and thinks she has found it. Allison is suspicious of the Peabody guy and begin to dig, seeming to be petty. And Five is showing signs of being exhausted by the whole thing. He makes deal which will be dealt with at some point. All in all, quite good.

Klaus
Calicodreamin12 August 2021
This episode belongs to Klaus, the acting from Sheehan was authentic and emotional. The storyline had some good moments but was overall a bit lackluster. The showdown with the bad guys felt sloppy.

Unexpected treat
Changomann7 May 2022
Very interesting chapter in which more details of the intentions of each character are revealed, funny moments and unexpected twists like the decision of five and the time travel of Klaus and more and more doubts about who is the cause of the end of the world, each time more hooked and is structuring more the world of the series.

One step forward two steps back

After the last episode I was excited for what was next but was met with bleak mediocrity until the teasing cliffhangers to end. Hopefully they lead to a better next episode.

Not sure how to rate this episode

Warning: Spoilers
This is a confusing one.

On the one hand, this episode combines a lot of fun storylines and the plot is finally driven forward - I found the last two episodes a bit tedious in this regard. So we have some nice character development between several of the siblings and we learn more about their relationships, also I especially like the assassins and donut girl.

On the other hand, there is a lot of stupid stuff happening as well.

Most annoyingly, Vanya not being the least bit suspicious of Leonard and just blaming Allison is just a really lazy and worn out trope, seen countless times and it's just bull. Klaus destroying the suitcase is just as dumb - right after it teleporting him into a different time, how would anyone immerdiately destroy the device that potentially can get you back. Just because he's "angry"? Makes no sense.

Still, I am looking forward to the next episode, and not a lot of Netflix' recent series have hooked me longer than the first 3-4 episodes, so that's a good thing!
