It was good as always but not the high class. Still interesting to watch.

One of the better episodes of season 30

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is about Lisa coming to respect Homer after he stands up for her at a clothing store. It parodies 'To Kill a Mockingbird' well and the jokes in this episode land well. Seeing Homer and Lisa talking in a southern accent like Atticus and scout is good and the JK Simmons as the psychiatrist is funny. This episode loses me in act 3 where Lisa and Bart get into a fight because Bart calls Homer a lazy slob. This is a lame ending to get the show back to the status quo. The main conflict is Bart is feeling neglected because of the attention Lisa is receiving, so after Homer saves Bart from the mob, you'd think he'd be happy and admire him the way Lisa does. Personally I think this episode could've had a better conclusion, but it's still a bright spot in this mostly dim season.

Warning: Spoilers
Is it too soon for a comedy to process a disruption in a synagogue? The show is social commentary with a yellow tinted mirror. Lisa could read the sequel, Watchman, but may be disappointed

One of the best episodes of the last season. Lots of subtexts to enjoy.

Wholesome episode

I think this episode was something new in a while and really enjoyed the episode and it was something Lisa looking up to her father as a hero and all the repercussion that follows it was good work.

Warning: Spoilers
I admit I watched this episode because of its inclusion of 'To kill a mockingbird'. One thing I didn't expect was J.K Simmons rushes but still funny appearance as the therapist, it's hard to tell if it's his delivery, the writing or both that made his scenes funny Anyway, modern simpsons isn't awful it's just mundane and this is a good episode to explain why. I expected an episode where Lisa and Homer bond over the novel, but what I got was a half-baked parody. This is most apparent when they parody the part where scout calms down the lynch mob, which is just odd with context. Instead of doing a full parody or a homer/Lisa bonding story we get a mix which doesn't work well. It doesn't make sense that both Lisa and homer would begin to cosplay there Mockingbird counterparts and it just isn't funny There are jokes like the giant pendulum that were funny but they kept it going too long, and Bart's story is completely pointless Elements of this episode are well done I admit, but it just feels off

Summed up in one sentence

I absolutely hated this episode, and my thoughts on this episode can pretty much be summed up in one sentence (from the "I May as Well Jump" song from Bender's Big Score): "Cram it down and shut the hell up!"

I so badly wanted to say that to Lisa when she was getting to the point of idolizing Homer and rubbing it in people's faces, but I'm just a guy behind a computer screen, so the next best thing is to just leave this episode 1 star (and, by the way, the rating is non negotiable, meaning I will NEVER rate this any higher than 1 star).
