Fun interesting episode but not historically accurate

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode. The acting was good and so were the costumes and atmosphere. It really gave the viewers a creepy feel of the time period and legend of the cursed Orloj. With that said, I'm not sure it should have been part of Lore since it is not based on actual people and events. It's just a legend told by Alois Jirasek, a Czech writer.

Lore is a show about non-fiction scary stories. The episodes examine historical events that show the dark side of human nature. This episode, while fun, is completely fictional.

As with all episodes this season, the narration was really missed. More context and background were needed here to really wrap up the episode and explain why it's part of Lore (I didn't get it). When I finished watching the episode I looked up the missing information on Wikipedia. The clock is real. It was first installed in 1410 by clockmaker Mikulas of Kadan and Charles University professor of mathematics and astronomy Jan Sindel. It is the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still in operation today. The story of the curse is just a legend.

I liked the episode

Had to go to Wikipedia afterwards and to check everything. The legend is proved to be made up, of course, but this time it was good for the show and the story they made out of it was quite good.

Still the shortage of historical accuracy and the logic of characters of this show keep worrying me. Perhaps, it's a good entertainment for people like me, people who like to find out what it was like back then and reconstruct that in their mind.

Disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
Really disappointed in this episode, the episode starts out saying that it's based on real people and events. Then tells a completely incorrect story. Yes, this is the lore of Prague, but you can't just say it really happened, then change every event that happened! First of all, it incorrectly states that the clockmaker was tortured to keep the secret of how the clock was made then killed himself by jumping into the gears. But they are basing that on the folk tales of who made it, it was different clockmakers Mikulas of Kadan and Jan Sindel, who actually created the clock. Then they say that the brothers died fixing it, but there is no evidence of anyone working on the clock EVER dying during the process. I wouldn't be disappointed if they hadn't made the statement at the beginning of it being real events and people. Then I could have enjoyed a great story about the lore of Prague. I really enjoyed the episode except for that and since I am very uncomfortable with shows/movies that pretend false events are real, I only gave it 2 stars. Really wanted to give it a full star rating, since it was a masterfully done episode. :(

This is the best episode of the second season and it's about a cursed watch that can give you visions of the future and make you crazy, the excitement is very good and the story is treated in a really beautiful way and gives moments of absolute tension.
