Sweet episode
stefan_kuske1 April 2020
After nearly 4 full seasons, while watching this episode I was thinking about how we got here. Rebecca came to West Covina to more or less stalk someone she used to love and while she was looking for love in all the wrong (and sometimes right) places, she grew so much. But one thing this episode shows is that everyone from Paula to Josh grew so much as well. The dates of course were amazing, but the last scene hit me the most. Even though I hope that Rebecca will chose herself over men and take none of the guys (well, or all three, that's okay too), I'm really looking forward to the last episode and how they resolve a series that tackled such intense topics in such an easy way.

Amazing episode

Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion this is one of the best episodes yet. From switching positions and now the guys being the ones that pursuit Rebecca Bunch, it's interesting to see how Rebecca handles everything and goes on two amazing "dates". The last one I guess technically isn't a "date" but is filled with honesty and pure love. And honestly I've always had a soft spot for Greg, so that could be why this was one of my favorite episodes. I like how at this point, anything could happen in the finale. And how the message of the show could be that everyone is capable of being loved (if Rebecca ends up with someone). Or that you need to find your own happiness (if she puts her love life aside and follows her theater dream). Or it could be a combination of both.

IF ITS NOT GREG AND REBECCA MAY THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT SWALLOW ME WHOLE

Warning: Spoilers
Also White Josh is my very very favorite and I am so immensely pleased he got to lead such a great song. And what a magnificent Weird Al cameo reprising one of my favorite underrated songs in season 1. Something that was amiss about this episode was Paula's side story kind of petered off with no real resolution which felt more like a cop out rather than an intentional move. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that they may pick it back up and finish that thought but I'm not that invested in it anyway. Paula peak of the episode was the montage of her disliking Greg. Also the impressive tap dancing.

So glad that Greg's 'date' ended up being true to character bc I was getting real worried for a moment. and what a perfect final shot.

Far from a classic, but a lot of laughs in this one and of course anything with betting I am going to love.

Starts Strong, Fizzles Out

I'm not sure why there's so much indecision for Rebecca. In this episode Josh continues knocking on her bedroom door impatiently after Rebecca tells him THREE times "just a minute" and he barges in anyway like a toddler with zero respect for her needs. Josh is clearly a child in a man's body. Greg's indecision & overthinking over every tiny little thing reveals him to be a teenager in a man's body, definitely not ready for a proper relationship and an annoying Debbie Downer. The only grown up with a future is Nathaniel, who is far too good for someone as self involved as Rebecca- she's basically Zooey Deschanel's character in New Girl with more singing. I'm not sure why so much is made of this "difficult choice" theme of the entire show, and the constant flip flopping has become very hard to invest in this far along. Started strong, finished weak. The stage show grand finale is a different thing entirely and showcases everyone's wonderful talent.
