WTF - To much drama for a supernatural_fantasy show
sheva03027 January 2020
I didn't read this graphic novel series and so far, IF i got all of it right, its preaty damn sweet; With the whole hunted monsters and the big bad black ops org. with their hidden agendas and a must have family secret - pretty classic and at the same time totally OK. BUT either the show is REALLY pushing on their PC-Woke-LGBTQ Teens that are all about the truth and honesty, buttons - or the graphic novel series actualy sucks balls. Not sure which one is it, but ill try to find the novels and find out! Untill then I will finish this one while I wait for season 02... ENJOY

Good but could be great

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy the theme and astatic of the show. Underground special ops organization finding monsters, main characters have two kids with hidden powers. I dig it, but already in this episode showing some sloppy writing, the kids are seniors in high school, year 2020, but flashback to Paris and it's 2005, the kids would have been 2 however the flashback shows them at like 6-7? Cmon, clean up the writing, it's not that hard. But anyways, I can forgive. So far, so good. Show compared to what is on Netflix I'd say between 6.5-7/10. Fun watch, maybe not the best writing.

heaven forbid the drama.

Good lord, people call the show dull, other people call the show too dramatic... which is it?

This is a solid show with a solid and clearly building background story... The family dynamic is interesting, the acting is good, the production values are more than sufficient to carry the SF angle...

There really isnt much to criticise other than the odd juxtaposition of teen angst and parental concern...

I'm thinking that this show appeals more to parents who have teenage children themselves...

I'm finding the morality of keeping secrets from minors a very interesting and quite original pretext for a show... Sure it's been done before, but still this show has found a decent balance between story arc, episodic drama, inclusion without undue incredulity and honest to goodness character development.

I'm guessing most of the downvotes stem from the scene between a particular protagonist and antagonist in the black utility vehicle.

Emotionless acting
Calicodreamin19 May 2020
The fifth episode of October faction brings huge revelations to the kids, but of course we don't get to see what their told, only the aftermath, which is emotionless?! The kids react almost nonchalantly and the girl goes on the monster defense and goes off into the woods with some monacled guy. More of the same: lack of monster activity, lack of chemistry, scattered storyline.
