Change is afoot in Bridgerton, dear reader. Season 3 has been split into two parts, a consequence of last year's Hollywood strikes and Netflix's evolving approach to their traditional release model. And with this new season also comes an inevitable change in focus. It's finally the turn of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) to take centre stage, a change that's most welcome indeed. Coughlan has always been a scene-stealer and she continues in that fashion here, as Penelope begins to prioritise her own happiness over the lives of others. Colin (Luke Newton), Penelope's long-time friend and the secret object of her affection, has also changed a great deal, with a near-unrecognisable glow-up that's made him the talk of the town.
A flash of Colin's newly chiselled abs in the first five minutes, not to mention the return of Jonathan Bailey's perpetually shirtless Anthony, remind us that...

How do the makers of Bridgerton keep a fandom as dedicated as theirs guessing? How does the Netflix show surprise a core of fans who are so intimately familiar with Julia Quinn’s source books that they’re anticipating every blush and ball before it even gets to the screen?
One solution, as has happened in season three, is to play with the established order of things. Though Benedict Bridgerton’s romance follows on from that of his brother Anthony’s in Quinn’s book series, the TV show has (rightly!) vaulted over that to first show the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
Their other answer? Invention. In addition to TV-only characters Madame Delacroix, Will and Alice Mondrich and Queen Charlotte herself, a new raft of invented-for-the-show characters appear in season three. Here they all are, along with info on the actors playing them, plus a couple...

It’s impressive that despite the massive success of Jaws making its bite mark on pop culture back in 1975, many movies have unapologetically attempted to follow in its footsteps to this very day. One of those films is the 2017 movie 47 Meters Down, which spawned a sequel in 2019, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. A third movie in the series is now set to swim ashore as 47 Meters Down: The Wreck will be launching its sales campaign at the Cannes Market. Johannes Roberts and screenwriter Ernest Riera return to co-write this new installment, which will be directed by veteran horror director Patrick Lussier, whose credits include My Bloody Valentine.
The plot synopsis for the third entry, per Deadline, reads,
“The story will follow a father who is determined to rebuild his relationship with his daughter as they bond during a scuba dive in beautiful tropical waters while exploring a famous shipwreck. But soon after their descent,...

‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 will include a total of eight episodes that are split into two parts. The first four episodes premiere on May 16, and the next four debut June 13.
“Bridgerton” is based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling romance book series. Season one featured the love story between Daphne and her husband, Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). Season 2 followed an enemies-to-lovers theme as it tracked the romance between Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
The Shondaland series new episodes will shift the focus to Colin and Penelope. Netflix’s official season 3 synopsis reads: “Penelope enters Season 3 finally ready to give up her longtime crush on Colin. However, that...

Exclusive: Fremantle is taking a Love is Blind-esque Danish format to the London TV Screenings in which singletons try to find love using just sight and sound.
Fremantle label Strong has produced Sense of Attraction and the show will be shopped to potential buyers in the capital in a fortnight’s time.
In Sense of Attraction, singletons try to find true love using only two senses. But they can’t use the two senses at the same time, so when they see each other they can’t speak and when they speak they can’t see one another.
The show has shades of Netflix hit Love is Blind, in which single men and women become engaged before they have even seen each other. That smash format has aired for six seasons on Netflix and been remade in a number of territories.

After four enlightening, entertaining and full-frontally filthy years of Sex Education, this Netflix teen drama is coming to an end with its fourth and final series, as the Moordale kids finish up their school years for good.
A lot has changed as we enter the new series. Maeve is now studying in America, Otis’ mum Jean has just had a surprise new baby, and a few other Sex Education favourites are missing entirely.

Revenues at Bertelsmann’s Luxembourg-based Rtl Group, a media giant which owns Fremantle, slid 9% to €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) for the first quarter of 2023, financial results released on Thursday have revealed.
The group attributes this to “significantly lower TV advertising revenue,” particularly in Germany, and the disposals of Rtl Belgium and Rtl Croatia.
Fremantle’s revenues were down 5.6% to €435 million (Q1/2022: €461 million), mainly due to timing effects of production deliveries, the group said.
The group’s total advertising revenue fell to €700 million (Q1/2022: €829 million), of which €545 million represented TV advertising revenue (Q1/2022: €653 million), €76 million digital advertising revenue (Q1/2022: €83 million) and €39 million radio advertising revenue (Q1/2022: €46 million). Distribution revenue was down by 1.8% to €107 million (Q1/2022: €109 million).
On the positive side, the group’s streaming services Rtl+ and Videoland continued growing, with paying subscribers up 37.1% to 5.9 million and streaming revenue up 15.6% in Q1/2023.

If you love the 1980s – specifically, the neon-lit, Talking Heads-blaring, Delboy swagger of the 1980s Cockney – then Sky’s new crime thriller A Town Called Malice is right up your street.
Meet the Lords
Created by The Sweeney’s Nick Love, this eight-part drama centres on the Lord family, a South London gang whose criminal heyday might be behind them, but who are still up for causing trouble. After a spot of bother with a rival gang (and leaving a policeman for dead), they flee to Spain’s Costa del Sol to lay low, and in amongst the pina coladas and palm trees realise they have a chance to recapture their former glory and become criminal top dogs once more.
The series premiered on Sky Max at 9pm on Thursday 16th March, and the full box-set is already available to watch on Now.

Created and written by Ryan J. Brown, season one of the cruise ship-set horror-comedy “Wreck” is now streaming exclusively on Hulu.
The inaugural six-episode season, which first premiered last year in the UK on BBC Three, is described as a tense thriller, mixing comedy with a slice of slasher, set aboard The Ms Sacramentum cruise ship. The series follows a 20-year-old new recruit, Jamie (Oscar Kennedy), who infiltrates the 3000-strong crew in a desperate race to find his missing sister. Then the murders force Jamie to wear his detective cap and uncover the shocking truth.
Bloody Disgusting spoke with Brown about finding the line between horror and comedy, why slasher mascot Quacky the duck haunts him, and shifting subgenres beyond season one.
Brown explained where the cruise ship slasher series originated and why it’s so atypical, “So in the UK, the channel it was on, BBC Three, it’s the fun teen channel.

A slasher series set aboard a cruise ship, with a plucky duck mascot employed as the face of its killer, sure sounds like a delightful time, doesn’t it? That setup is only the tip of the iceberg in the inaugural six-episode season of “Wreck,” created by Ryan J. Brown and helmed by Chris Baugh (Boys from County Hell). Hidden behind the Quacky the Duck mask is a larger murder-mystery conspiracy, charming characters, and a reverence for the horror genre.
“Wreck” introduces its setting, the Ms Sacramentum, and its inciting mystery with an opening sequence that pays tribute to Halloween H20. Pippa (Jodie Tyack) breaks up with her boyfriend, Danny (Jack Rowan), then gets pursued across the deck by the ship’s mascot, Quacky, who is ominously wielding a knife. The screen fades to black before Pippa’s fate gets revealed. Cut to three months later, 19-year-old Jamie (Oscar Kennedy...

It’s ironic but unavoidable that the greatest annual celebration of film should be a television special — but that’s just how it is. March often means Oscar season, a time for cinephiles to boot up that small screen you use for movies and use it to see if they win any awards during a telecast.
If you don’t have TV service anymore, Hulu has you covered with a pre-Oscars telecast as well as two red carpet specials before and after the main event. Though the ceremony itself won’t be livestreamed on Hulu, it will be added the next morning, like regular ABC programming. Awards viewership has been in general decline over the past several years, but next-day streaming gives curious viewers a chance to join the conversation and boost those Oscar ratings after the live show. It’s also a chance for superfans to pause and rewind...

The first season of the BBC Three horror comedy series Wreck (formerly known as Wrecked) is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer – and it has been announced that BBC Three has ordered another season of the show from creator / writer Ryan J. Brown and Euston Films! When we first heard about Wreck, Brown said he “wanted to create a piece of genre entertainment that had the savvy teen sharpness of Scream, the unsettling atmosphere of The Shining and the strange upstairs, downstairs mythology of The Cabin in the Woods.” The new season will be filming in Northern Ireland next year.
The first season of Wreck was set aboard The Sacramentum cruise ship. The series follows 20-year-old new recruit, Jamie, as he infiltrates the 3000 strong crew in a desperate race to find his missing sister. She was working aboard the same vessel on a previous tour and vanished mid charter.

Exclusive: Season two of Euston Films’ BBC Three horror comedy Wreck is in development prior to the first airing, as creator Ryan J. Brown opens up about portraying queer identity and a scarcity of British slasher.
Newly-promoted Euston MD Noemi Spanos and Brown told Deadline they are busy developing the second season and Brown always planned the show to run for at least three. Meanwhile, the horror comedy is one of distributor Fremantle’s flagships being pushed to international buyers at Mipcom later this month. It launches on Sunday October 9.
The cast of Wreck
The genre-bending show, a youth-skewing horror set on a cruise ship that has comic elements, “lends itself well to international sales,” according to Spanos. “The boat itself has a very international cast of characters coming together that should give it a broad reach,” she added, stating that Wreck’s trailer has already attracted widespread attention on social media.

Last year, writer/director Joachim Hedén brought us the survival thriller Breaking Surface (watch it Here), about a woman struggling to save her sister, who was trapped underwater by a rockslide in the icy waters of Norway. Now Hedén is in production on another thriller about diving – but this time around, the threat to the divers are sharks. Filming in Belgium, the shark thriller may or may not end up being called The Last Breath. The Wreck has also come up as a potential title. But whatever the title happens to be, the first image from the film has been unveiled online and you can check it out at the bottom of this article.
According to Deadline, The Last Breath – I’m just going to keep calling it that for now – has been written by Nick Saltrese (Prayer Before Dawn). The story centers on

“Bridgerton” Season 3 has brought on three new cast members as production on the next installment of the Netflix period drama gets underway.
Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips, and James Phoon have all signed on for the new season, which will focus on the love story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Francis (“Stay Close”) plays Marcus Anderson, described as a charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters, attracting the notice of certain matriarchs in the ton — and the ire of others.
Phillips (“The Crown”) plays Lord Debling. A genial lord with unusual interests, he has wealth and a noble title to back up his eccentricities. He’ll have no shortage of interest from young ladies this season.
Phoon (“Wreck”) plays Harry Dankworth. What Dankworth lacks in wit and intelligence, he more than makes up for with serious good looks.
