"Sad Teen Hotline", Tom officially breaks up with Star. He finds that he and everyone else can't travel the Multiverse. The title was really superfluous in this. What is it with that lately? There's this great joke where Star freezes a helicopter. Let's just say you have to watch it to the very end. ***1/2

"Jannanigans", this episode features the characters trying to get help from Janna. They want to know how she got to Mewni with no portals. For some reason, she can't remember how she even did it. Love the scenes with Oskar. He's really a good character. Great to see Janna with emotions, as well as the characters acknowledging this. ***1/2

It's a very bad sign when you have to bore the audience with characters having to figure out how to get somewhere just to fill an episode. On top of that, Star and Marco have only been on Earth for two episodes before they need to go back to Mewni without portals, and Star never took her room of the castle back with her from the Monster Temple, which makes this episode's issue of their non-settling on Earth all the more obvious. In Sad Teen Hotline, Tom wants to break up with Star and just be friends with her. They think they are too emotional to open the portals, it takes all night long just for them to figure out that is not the case and the portals were shut down. In Jannanigans, Star, Marco and Tom spend an inordinate steve of time going through a typical Thursday with Janna to learn how else she got to Mewni. It's a mundane storyline until they get to Britta's Tacos, where they learn Janna fell down a well into the Realm of Magic.
