It's Dunkirk.

Firstly I would assume that those moaning that this was simply pc didn't watch as far as episode one. This episode was bleak, and harsh, with some language you'd expect from the time.

I thought from the very first that Dunkirk was going to be the focal point of this series, and it was, the scenes were incredible. The special effects defied it being a small screen production.

Blake Harrison was terrific in this, he was charismatic and funny, adding some needed humour into this bleak episode. Fabulous acting all round.

I thought it was breathtaking drama. 9/10

Amazing

This keeps getting more moving and dark, as it should. In these times tough to watch, but important. One of the best filmed programs we've seen on television in a long while. Kudos all round.

Episode 1.5

The soap opera elements continue in the various story strands. Journalist Nancy Campbell gets her hands dirty by helping Uwe Rossler dispose of a body of a dead fanatical Nazi.

Kasia has got comfortable luring Nazi soldiers to their deaths in Warsaw. She even pulls the trigger herself if the need arises.

Lois is charmed by Flight Lieutenant Vernon Hunter who not judgmental over her pregnancy. Her father Douglas is suffering over the fate of his son stuck in Dunkirk.

Harry Chase is also heading to the beaches of Dunkirk but he comes across some shell shocked soldiers and feels duty bound to save them.

The best scenes were of Harry, he might had come across as wet and naive in the first episode. He displayed his humanity and bravery over the shell shocked soldiers and the two Senegalese soldiers who faced constant racism.

The Dunkirk scenes were epic and is hard to believe it was filmed in Lytham St Annes. Despite the accusations of colour blind casting, writer Peter Bowker did acknowledge the racism that black soldiers faced. In this case the Senegalese soldiers stayed behind to help look after the shell shocked soldiers.

There are strange things going on here Warning: Spoilers
I'm getting more and more annoyed at this show. Some characters are acting more and more odd, and there are quite a lot of unrealistic things going on.

And then we have this polish character that we are meant to believe that he has WALKED from eastern Poland to France...through nazi Germany - and that he finds his way all the way to the english channel?
