Well knit object lesson
williamsiris-9544030 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I think the only thing I would change is Frank's conversation with Sully. Sully thinks his skill level is higher than it is. Frank could have explained that in most fields of corporate structure, most leaders continue to advance into their first level of incompetence. Frank explains he chooses not to advance Sully beyond his competence and comfort, then explains some areas where the new training leader has competence that Sully doesn't have. I didn't want Sully to turn in his badge.

For instance, Sully trains well in non-confrontational areas with general edits where she trains for specific encounter possibilities with partner practice for many scenarios.

I think you are all missing the major item in these episodes

People are complaining about the NYPD letting a couple in a relationship work as boss and subordinate. At this point Jamie and Eddie are not married and no one but the Reagan family knows that they are a couple. (I can't remember if they've told their CO) Yes, Frank is the PC but he is allowing them to work as they are.

Wrong signals

Warning: Spoilers
In this Blue Bloods episode Tom Selleck is appointing an Asian woman Sumalee Montano to an inspector slot, but gets some fierce opposition from an old timer Michael Park who is ready to sue the department.

Vanessa Ray and her new partner Yasha Jackson have a domestic dispute on their hands between a convenience store employee and the owner. When husband Will Estes checks it out there's a lot more to it.

Steven Schirrippa enlists the oldest Reagan of all, Len Cariou to check on the nursing home his mom is staying in.

The last piece of the episode is Donnie Wahlberg and Marissa Ramirez investigate the death of a freshman at mythical Hudson University. This was one sad case of a gay kid getting the wrong signals. Something that LGBTQ folks fear every day. Gaydar is not 100% reliable.

No love
Barry01695 November 2018
I liked all parts of this episode except for one -- I am feeling no love for the Eddie/Jamie story line. I can't imagine a police department would ever allow a couple in a relationship to be partners, much less allow one to be the other's superior. Every week now their story is all about that conflict. It's already gotten old.
