Just finished watching the finale of season 3 and I am blow away by the depth, the story writing and the acting and cinematography,Wow what a season this was ,from start to finish...The Seer/witch was spellbinding ,loved it! The quality of this show is on par with or even better than Vikings..There is a similar vib, yet a different feel at the same time...The actor who played Alfred just knocked it out of the park, so powerful a presence ,so frail a body yet so commanding and every bit utrids Equal on the playing field of the mind..That actor was a true pleasure to behold..Utrid and Alfreds power dynamic, and their wonderful conversations, especially their final ones were superb story writing....There is No bad acting in this series,Each and every one draws you into their portrayal of who they are in this drama...I cant say enough good things about this show and season 3 raised the bar by being even better than the previous 2 seasons, and they were fantastic..This is Epic television , this is Great story telling! so highly recommended! I hope there is a season 4..

Warning: Spoilers
I just felt in love with this series from the first season and it's keeps getting better, How Uhtred mentions his old friend Leofric was outstanding, how the action started to rise that the one that watches can't even blink, And the best thing that this stinking and annoying Athelwold finally got killed and by that Uhtred and Brida saved Ragnar and sent him to Vallhala.
Just wow nothing can describe my happiness at this moment.
I will give a 50/10 of it was possible.
Overwhelming episode

This series was much more I expected. This episode was so marvelous. Conlusions were build up fantastically. Speechech in this episode was well written as the story itself. Batllescene was best what I have seen - I compared it a Battle of bastards in Thrones. Acting was great and directing was very well done. In books storytelling is in first person, so this kind of way to Tell story leaves space to build greater plot - and it sucseed.
Books 7,8,9 and 10 are the very best in uhtred story so if this story going to be even better this is going to be one of the greatest series ever!
Hopefully this is going to emmys and now when Thrones failed, The Last Kingdom Take the Iron trone on the tv entertainment world. It really deserved it.

I have watched all 3 seasons and can honestly say the development of Characters and the story line have only gotten better! I love the fActing the Cast and Crew bring it all to the table and leave it there for us to thoroughly enjoy. I love the details and the attention to the historical relevance and importance!! I highly recommend this series from start to finish and I am truly thrilled to know there will be a season 4, now just commit to completing the entire Bernard Cornwell Series!!!

Warning: Spoilers
There are a lot of shortcuts and illogical events
In Uhtred's trial, Prince Edward decided to believe the content of the letter without reading it or taking it from Uhtred to know its content, even out of curiosity!
Before the battle, Otterd decided to attack the Danish army, even though they were exceeding them in number, and he had no prior news of when the rest of the Saxon army would arrive! For me, it was just suicide Then the magical solution suddenly comes and the beautiful girl's army appears at the right moment OK But the Saxon army led by the conspirator arrived, according to the plan, supposed to betray the army of Uhtred and Edward, but he changed his mind at the last moment.. The matter was not logical and was not well prepared for him.
It was a very poor plot At the end of the episode, Uhtred leaves the battlefield and goes to avenge his brother and separates us from the atmosphere of the battle and has not returned to it. The episode ended without knowing the end of the battle or even the victory celebration What was the fate of the leaders of the Danish army? We do not know.

Warning: Spoilers
Was surprised Thyra died. The last fight was alright but nothing earthshattering. I'm glad brida and uhtred got revenge for ragnar's death. I was almost expecting aethelwold to continue as an antagonist sort of like Littlefinger in game of thrones but his death is fitting.
Finally!

Brilliant end to a brilliant season

Season 3 is where The Last Kingdom hit top gear. The first two seasons were great, tracing the history of Alfred the Great through the eyes of an unknown figure, Uhtred. More than just a history lesson and a spotlight on Alfred, it was fine drama with Uhtred the main character, complete with his own back-story, trials and tribulations.
This is where the story sometimes lacked engagement as Uhtred is a frustrating character, constantly sabotaging his own standing and putting his life in danger through silly actions. The duality of his mixed Saxon-Danish existence was never tested very well either.
Until now. This season sees Uhtred's loyalties well and truly tested, with some significant shifts on his part. We also have the season with the most internal machinations, both within the Saxon camp and the Danish camp. Throw in the usual superb battle and action scenes, some very loathsome villains and some great revenge sub-plots and this is the best season so far.
