Zany, bonkers, and about time.

It's been a while since we've had a sitcom on the BBC that's funny and stupid, we've had a string of silly comedies that contained zero humour, and we've had plenty of funny high brow sitcoms.

This worked for me on many levels, the seventies, Rentaghost vibe, and the fact that the entire family enjoyed it, and laughed just because it was plain silly. It didn't pretend to be clever it's witty, it was just fun.

Plenty of comedy talent here, I can't wait for the next one. 8/10

Warning: Spoilers
Young married couple Alison and Mike Cooper are home hunting, desperately seeking an affordable and habitable abode.

When quite literally Alison is contacted by a solicitor informing her, of a family inheritance.

This is from the sad demise of an unknown aunt Heather Button, of her family estate.

Alison and Mike are quite literally bowled over by the property, especially by the consideration of how much it may be worth.

However unbenounced to either of them Button House, is not exactly totally unoccupied.

Alison Cooper's maiden name is Button her aunt Heather, having no direct relatives the House came down to Alison.

The last of the previous generation Lady Fanny Button, though having shuffled off this mortal coil, had not entirely departed it.

Fanny Button is not exactly chuffed to discover a young relative Alison Button, is planning to take up residence in her family home.

Button House has also become not exactly home, more the final resting place for generations of poor souls.

Non of whom exactly relish the prospects, of what may occur there in the future.

I Saw Right Through It

A young woman and her husband inherit a manor house. They decide to fix it up but don't realize it is haunted by a variety of ghosts, ranging from a Neanderthal who lived on the land, to a scoutmaster with a practice arrow through his throat. Each ghost is unique and they have little power, but they decide they will haunt the young couple and drive them away. Good start.

I'm jealous you're just starting to watch this show

We didn't get "Horrible Histories" in the states, so I didn't know about this incredible team of actors until after I'd already fallen in love with this show. Now I get one reason it's so good. These actors have been working together for years and their amazing chemistry is palpable. Add that to great writing and premise and the fantastic casting of additional players, and I can't get enough if it. I'm happy for the actors / creators that there is an American version as well, and I hope it is successful, but I have little interest in seeing a copy of this terrific cast when the original is perfect.

Warning: Spoilers
Not the best show, not the sharpest show, but there is something endearing about this. Charlotte Ritchie is good in yet another comedy, but a lot of the supporting cast works too.

Absolutely great show, hope the powers that be continue making this cleverly written comedy. Takes me back to my childhood with the ghost of motley hall and rentaghost.

Who Do You Think You Are?
Prismark1015 April 2019
Well it is not Rentaghost and I do not expect to see a pantomime horse. This seems to be almost a spin off from Horrible Histories. Most of the regulars turn up in fancy dress as ghosts.

They are the ancestral spirits in a country mansion of Button Hall.

The ghosts are dismayed that the new owner Alison and her husband Mike have inherited Button Hall and have plans to turn it into a themed hotel.

The ghosts want to scare them off the property.

The last time I watched a spirit themed comedy it was the Eric Idle sitcom for US television, Nearly Departed. It was pulled after six episodes.

The first episode had some madcap anarchism which means it could be fun.
