This review will be unpopular, I know, but I don't care, because it's my opinion, and like how I respect others', I won't stifle mine either. I LOVED the first three seasons, even though the makeup and special effects were some of the WORST I've ever seen on a show, the writing and acting were up there with the BEST!!! HOWEVER, here we are, only a couple episodes in, and all Hell has broken loose, the storyline has gone to Hell. They have Van bring Mo back, just to get murdered right away by Sam! Scarlet gets off the island, has one episode where she's mocking a Christian's faith-which the writers do a good job of FINALLY sticking up for, just to turn around and mock it themselves, you'll understand when you see it! Then they have a weird scene that seems like a "mental challenge, what would happen if" sort of sequence, and you find out that Scarlet killed herself off for real, for absolutely NO benefit/purpose- which was something EVERYONE of us, including Axle (who now says he's going to kill Van because she didn't even try to stop her sister) saw, it was completely OPPOSITE to her saying that if she died, it would give Van back her light! Duh!!! She WAS her light!!! Then, for some purpose-less reason, they brought back Lillian, saying they need 2 Van Helsings, so... how did she exist this long? And BTW, we never found out who the girls' dad was, but i digress... Then they just kill HER with a simple cut too!!!

NOW, we supposedly have a NEW Van Helsing.... and she's black?! Not HALF, but FULL?! The girls mom COULDN'T be the mother genetically, I don't care WHAT Black Tek says! I'm also TIRED of the cultural/sexual appropriation. This is the same as Marvel turning all of their super heroes female! I could go on for hours about cultural, but here's another good one- Stephen King's The Dark Tower, now I love me some Idris Elba, but the character Roland was SPECIFICALLY described as being like Clint Eastwood... Now WHY would you cast an actor who's the exact OPPOSITE, when Clint has a son who's an actor who looks just like him? IDK, The whole thing has me disgusted, because it's just USING black people to say "look! We're woke! Praise us!" Instead of just developing black characters who are great and can stand up of their own accord!
