The build up pays off, an episode filled with action and moments that will make a lot of superhero fans satisfied
Holt34423 June 2020
This was almost a perfect episode, still some things that felt a bit off but they're getting there. It's still a new show that is trying to put its feet down and they are doing good work. The new Justice Society of America is formed in this episode and we get to see Stargirl, Wildcat, Hourman and Dr.Mid-Nite together in their first mission together and it was nice to see, the costume department did a phenomenal job with the design of the costumes. The actors actually fit into the costumes and look rather good in them. It was a very entertaining and good episode but one thing that wasn't as great was some of the dialogue for some actors. But overall a great episode, Chris Manley did a phenomenal job at directing this episode.

The introduction of Sportsman and Tigress was one thing that took me by suprise, not that they would be there but how entertaining they are as characters and as actors, the chemistry they have was great to see! We also get to follow The Gambler some more and I'm starting to like him and wish to see more! With those two characters, Sportsman and Tigress, the fight sequences and choreography involving them felt really comicbooky and that isn't a bad thing. The show is now known for the two tones that they have successfully done and it's a darker and lighter tone, these two villains are on the lighter side as we get to see Sportsman living up to the name... He likes sports, yep. Whilst Tigress has more agility and are so much different bit together they become this amazing team. The darker villains are like Iceman and Brainwave. Those fight sequences were the best ones yet, the visual and special effects was some of the best since the first episode, Star Girl's staff was at its best in terms of cgi and it was believable.

I strongly believe that this episode will satisfy many viewers and superhero fans that are interested in watching this show.

Great Final Sequence
KookShanty28 June 2020
This episode trudged along at the beginning, with an obnoxious and cliche subplot, but the episode quickly turned into the new JSAs first mission, and it picked up from there. The fights were fantastic, and did a great job showing off our heroes abilities and personalities. It also showed off new villains, who had unique powersets and acted fun and quirky. They were both acted excellently.

Best episode of the series yet!

Warning: Spoilers
Episodes 1-5 of Stargirl have been underwhelming, to say the least. However, this episode knocked it out of the park, with the first battle between the new JSA and two members of the ISA, Tigress and Sportsmaster. The evil couple easily take down the new JSA, but are stopped when S.T.R.I.P.E comes to the rescue. At the end of the episode, Pat agrees that he needs to train the new members, and lets them keep the suits. Overall, this episode was amazing and I am excited for next week!

Nicely done action scenes and eye catching CGI
udokwuchukwuemeka23 June 2020
This episode really brought down the house the episode introduces some cool villains in the coolest well possible the action sequences delivered in this episode was one of the best I've seen in a superhero movie in a while the editing and CGI are on theatrical level the choregraphy was nicely done this episode was just awesome but the rope work was obvious in some scenes but aside from that the action scene CGI are visually stunning trust me this episode will keep you wanting for more

Improvement after th last couple episodes
jwwalrath-227-8548723 June 2020
This may be the best episode so far with a sense of fun and some nice character work and action. They actually manage to make Sportsmaster's gimmick work in live action.

The two main villains in this are written a little too broad, I admit.

The final parts saved it.

Warning: Spoilers
After a strong quartet of opening episodes, I was extremely disappointed with the fifth one, which is easily the worst of the season and hopefully stays the worst. Thankfully this one THE JUSTICE SOCIETY was (just barely) a step back in the right direction, but these last couple of episodes have really exposed some of the flaws of this series. For one, until the last act of this episode, NOTHING has happened in the last 2 episodes! Aside from Yolanda's wonderful character developing episode 1x04, the formation of the rest of Team Stargirl (for now) with Rick and Beth has been horrible. At least Rick has a legit excuse of the familial connection, but what makes the silly Beth so important? She goofed her way into finding the magic goggles, forced her way onto the team, and Chuck just plot forces information to her to make her seem useful. And how exactly does she HEAR what Chuck is saying to her? There's no earpiece on that thing. Eh, her character is just really bad comic relief for the team because the actress has the comic timing of a corpse.

The first 45 minutes of this episode consisted of some hit-or-miss scenes involving the new evil Sportsmaster-Tigress duo, more dumb team stuff of Courtney being a pushover to her new team members, Pat continuing to get verbally abused and disrespected, a couple of filler albeit cute Barb-Mike scenes, a good Icicle-IcicleJr scene, Beth continuing to be cringe, Rick showing why they need to start limiting this actor's screentime, and more odd acting from this annoying Colonel Sanders wannabe character...The Gambler! Oooooh! LOL In addition to that great Pat-Courtney scene near the end, I have to say the climactic fight sequence of the New JSA versus the villainous duo was good stuff. But I'm at a point in life where I couldn't care less about action scenes and much prefer strong character development. When an action scene is the only saving grace of an episode for me, that's not good. But given how pitiful the bulk of the last 2 episodes have been, I'll take it.

Why they don't want to return the stolen things
ADAKENNDY23 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Watching this drama, for the first time, I had the urge to hope that the villains would severely teach this group of bear kids in ridiculous uniforms, Why they don't want to return the stolen things, I can't understand

why are people giving this show so high praise IT'S BAD.
Ghostcrow_Opin25 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
And when you give a bad shows good reviews just make the show go on for longer with no change. If people just pinched their arm and started to think they would see that the reason the think this show is good is because they think it's better than batwoman but it's at the same level of bad writing.

Finally we got some girlwoer representation. CW is showing what tye wanted all the time from the start.

I don't even want the so called superheroes to win, because they are not heroes the suites, googles and object give them powers, stargirl is acting like a dumb brat. I never thought they would write a person dumber than Kate Kane but this show has.

Pat should have know from the toaster that stargirl had stolen all the clothes with superpowers.

Stargirl has no respect for anybody and she is not a hero, she a villain. (even the show knows this because Pat is telling it to Stargirls stupid face.

The only good thing is icecycle , every villain is portraided good, while the so called heroes that only are heroes because of an item they got from stargirl that stole everything just as batwoman did.

I have never wished a character would die this much because every time I see stargirls little brother i just want a truck to smash thru the house and splash him.

So Stargirl has no balls to even ask her so called friends to give the suites, googles and everythign back because she stole it..

GoogleGirl is sitting in the library talking to herself and nobody cares. She is so REdicilous and another word that starts with RE and ends with tarded.

Stargirl is wearing a dumb t-shirt where it says "Don't Hate" I would prefer it was saying " Don't cut the power to a hospital because people will die you dumbass"

HourGlassBoy is mood and well moody all the time, nothing else, I don't know if it's bad casting or bad writing because he can't emote.

Stargirl still has no balls and all so called heroes wont give anything back to stargirl so it just show they are all are as selfish and greedy as batwoman because they don't want to give back what stargirl gave them, really good heroes we got.

And I give credit where credit is due. The scene with Ice-cycle and his son is really good and they got chemistry so it really feels like father and son.

It's just bad that the show is making the so called heroes to be dumb and the villains to be loved.

Now I could not stop Laugh for 10 minutes, the GooglesGirl costume is as stupid looking as she is acting stupid.

The only good thing is that the wannabe heroes gets their ass whooped by the villains . And that stargirl finally realized she is dumb.
