Whomever is editing the "previously on" episode recaps better start watching the previous episode.

What a shame

This was stylish, elegant and really going somewhere as of episode 1. Three quarters of the way through episode 2 . . . couldn't stand to watch another second. No style, horrible pacing. Just B O R I N G. As the reviewer just prior to mine suggested: different director.

Too bad.

I'm done.

Life's too short . . .

first episode great, second episode terrible

What is the matter with these people? Can't they sustain a good series even two episodes? Episode two featured the same actors, but everything else was different, and just plain STUPID. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I see they gave it to a different director, and whoever he is, he ruined it. They better get back to the quality of episode 1, or they're going to fail spectacularly.

Snap, Crackle, Pop

The zoo animals have disappeared but the episode opens with a dead cat.

This was a meandering second episode that introduces more characters of this seedy Texan town.

As this is a whodunnit they are just more suspects with something to hide. Also everyone needs to be careful when they start their car engine.

A concussed Allegra goes around meeting these people. A drunken journalist, a tenant of her sister who makes a pass at Allegra. Another man who might has been her sister's lover.

The most surprising part was that Strucker was still alive when his car blew up. He was covered in so many bandages he could had auditioned for a Mummy movie.

So far Briarpatch is underwhelming. It feels like a cheap knockoff of a Tarantino/Lynch crime drama.
