Saw (2004)
One of the best movies that I've ever seen within my lifetime
If you enjoy horror films, puzzles and playing games, then you would enjoy this film. When I first saw the trailer on television (TV) it looked kind of stupid, not the kind of stupid that makes it so that I don't want to see but the kind of stupid that make it so that only true horror fans would enjoy but not someone who doesn't like horror.
Saw is about two guys who end up in a room with a chain hooked up to one of their ankles with the other end of the chain hooked up to the wall and they don't know how they got in this room. They are then told that they have until 6:00PM (which only leaves approx. 2 hours) to figure out how to get out of the room and if they fail to figure out how to get out of the room by 6:00PM, then they would die.
I liked that the fact that this was a thinking movie where the movie gets you involved (kind of). Sort of like the movies Cube, Cube 2: Hypercube and Cube: Zero (which I haven't seen as of yet but plain on seeing in the near future). If you have seen any of the Cube movies and enjoyed them, watch Saw.
Get Shorty (1995)
This movie was not the best movie that i've seen, but it was not the worst
This movie didn't come out to the theaters until the year 1995. I only watched this movie because I wanted to watch every movie that the actor, The Rock, was in at the theater and he happened to be in the sequel to this movie, Be Cool, and thought that since I was going to the theater to watch Be Cool, that I might as well watch this movie, Get Shorty.
Not knowing what this movie was about, I got the movie from my local public library on DVD and put it into my DVD Player. Right away, the movie got my full attention; not that many movies do. What I don't understand is what the movie title has to do with the storyline. Anyway, there is as much action as is with the movie Cradel 2 the Grave. I would highly recommend, if you enjoyed this movie, Be Cool, the sequel to this movie coming out to the theaters March 04, 2005.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
George Lazenby as James Bond...
I'm trying to watch the James Bond movies in the order that they came out to the theater and when I watched the first five films of James Bond: "Dr. No", "From Russia With Love", "Goldfinger", "Thunderball", and "You Only Live Twice", all five films had the same actor playing James Bond: Sean Connery. When I saw this film, being used to have James Bond being played by Sean Connery, it sort of changed the mood. How would you like to have a actor or actress play a character through so many parts of a movie or show and then have the character be played by another actor or actress? You get used to the actor or actress, which I don't like. I'm not saying that George Lazenby is a bad actor, all I'm saying is that I was used to Sean Connery. If George Lazenby was in the first five films as James Bond and then Sean Connery was in this film as James Bond, I wouldn't like it either.
Taboo (2002)
A Game Show worth watching
***MIGHT HAVE A SPOILER IN IT***
If you have ever played the board game Taboo and enjoyed it, then the game show "Taboo" will be fun and not time wasting to watch. Chris Wylde is the host and he is very funny. The show is taped in a studio in Beaverly Hills, California, United States. There are two teams of three contents on each team. Chris Wylde tries to get the team to say the word or phrase without saying the five taboo words and the first person to say the word or phrase on the team is the team captain and get to appoint who goes up for their team. One person from the team (appointed by the team captain) has to get the other two on their team to say the word or phrase without saying the five taboo words. Each word or phrase is worth one point and is only given 45 seconds. After the other team is done with the first round, the same is done with the second round but a different person (appointed by the team captain) has to come and do it again. The third round is does exactly the same except this time it is call the "Danger" round where if the person giving the clues say one of the five taboo words, Chris throws junk into your face and makes noise. The words or phrases this time are names of real life and/or fictional characters. The forth round is called the "Catch up" round where the same for the first two rounds except each word or phrase is worth two points and a sixth taboo word is added. After this round if the score is tied, the team with the least taboos is the winner, otherwise the team with the most points wins and get to go to the bonus round. The losing team gets to take home each a taboo board game. In the bonus round three prizes/trips are offered and the team gets to decide what prize/trip they want. In additional, other prizes are given and $1000 spending money each. One person on the team has to get the other two members in the team to guess the phrase or word based on a category given 60 seconds. If the person get the word or phrase right, taboos or passes, the players have to switch. If 6 are guess correctly within 60 seconds, they win the prize/trip.
Friday the 13th (1980)
I give the movie a 6 out of a 10 rating.
WARNING: Part of this review is a spoiler. Most of the movie is not given.
Out of the Horror movies that I have seen or heard of where people get killed, a man is doing the killing. Not knowing who the killer is was scary until the end when it was a woman and not a man. The whole time, I thought that a man was the killer because a man usually is the killer. The woman was Jason's mother. The acting was not that good to today's techonology, but in 1980, the techonology was not as good as that it wasen't discovered/invented yet. I imagine that the 9 other Friday the 13th movies that are already out and Jason X, the one coming out to the theater in a couple of months, has better acting. I gave Friday the 13th a rating of 6 out of a possible 10 because, if I would have been alive during 1980 (born February of 1983) and saw it at the theater, I would have been scared and thought that the techonology was very rad.
101 Dalmatians (1996)
Movie well done!!!
I think that 101 Dalmatians movie kicks butt in a way that it is different from the animated verson of Disney's One Hundred One Dalmations. The movie is just like One Hundred One Dalmatians with a few parts added and a few parts taken away. I think that Glenn Close makes a wonderful Quella DeVile. If you liked One Hundred One Dalmatians, then watch this movie. If you liked this movie, then watch the upcoming movie coming Thanksgiving of 2000 to theaters, 102 Dalmatians, because I believe that 102 Dalmatians will kick even more butt.
