Is there something magical about this film that I'm missing? American culture breeds laziness and victims.. The Chinese culture breeds hard workers who get very little out of their lives beyond their work. Corporations exist to minimize expenses and maximize profits. Unions are excellent in theory but horrible in practice. People are so short-sighted that they can't get out of their own way. Glass can break. Automization replaces manual labour. The job market has been trending toward skilled labour for 50 years. Many facts and subleties get lost in translation. The film deserved exactly zero awards.

...this was an entertaining film until it wasn't. Why does no one know how to finish a film? This movie totally lost it's way. I paused this movie at one point and said aloud "I like this!"
That was a mistake. Everything that happened afterwards was a complete farce. I think the first utterly unbelievable thing, I could be wrong, was knocking off the doctor. Someone who wants to stay under the radar surely doesn't have a doctor killed who they just failed to discredit in court. Tad suspicious no? Maybe just put a little pressure on her to change her opinion. Maybe? Everything else after that was just as stupid.
My advice for you, watch up to that point and then write your own ending. I guarantee it will be an improvement.

Don't we all want to see a movie that we haven't seen before? I do, and I haven't seen this movie before, or anything quite like it. Half of me says it's a 10 and half of me says it's a 0.
Would I watch it again? I can't say. There are visually astounding things but also things that hit a little too close to watch.
If you grew up during the time these children did, you recognize their father. He's your father with Brad Pitt's face. I'd even say he's a much friendlier version of your father. My brother and I, love, kisses and my father never met but still it's easy to feel uncomfortable watching them interact.

Not sure who is giving this move 9's and 10's but they sure don't watch a lot of movies. Shallow characters, shallow acting, shallow directing. It' s not terrible but it's not worth your time either. It sure wasn't worth mine.

This film opened my eyes to the world of beef. As with all things there is always more to learn.
I had my set ideas on what a steak is and how it is to be cooked and enjoyed. My ideas had come from watching a thousand cooking shows cooking a thousand steaks. I thought I'd seen all there was to see. Now I realize that those ideas came from watching a thousand North American cooking shows with very strict methods and rules.
It seems to me that a world view of anything, including beef, is always better. I'll be doing more investigation about the origins of my beef and trying more things concerning it's handling and preparation from now on.

This is one of the 10 funniest movies ever made. Unfortunately it turned so incredibly gutless in the end that I can only give it a 6 out of 10.
The ending would have been ok if it had come with Thornton lying dead on the doorstep hold the stuffed pink elephant, but no. A movie which had everything going for it had to sell out in the end to appease the idiotic focus groups who thought that everything needed to wrapped and tied up in a happy little bow.
This movie didn't deserve the tacked-on happy ending and neither did I.

Yes, this is a Harrison Ford movie. No, this is not a good movie.
I went into this with low expectations. Not low enough. I thought Josh Hartnett was ok in Black Hawk Down. He is not ok in this, mind you, he and Ford have very little to work with.

I have rated almost 1000 movies on this site and I'm sure I've seen twice that many but this is the only 10. Everytime I go to the theatre it is in hope that I will see something better. It hasn't happened, not even close.
