Dune: Part Two (2024)
21st century history is made
This is it guys!!!!
That's the landmark movie of the 21st century. I want to begin by highlighting that this IS NOT a movie, it's a whole experience (supposing you see it in the big screen). The whole room vibrating, the score, the perspective of Denis, the seat movement happening because of the sound shattering vibrations - it's really a whole new experience which I hope sets the standard for all movies and directors to come. I want everyone reading this review to understand that this experience was closer to a simulation rather than a movie. You will literally never witness something like it if you don't see it on the big screen.
Lastly I want to praise Denis Villeneuve. Even if you are not a cinema enthusiast and even if you don't care for things such as the art of directing a movie, the work Denis has done cannot go unnoticed. I am referring to everyone, even if you don't know what directing means or the different directing techniques, YOU WILL find yourself completely understanding the directing perspective leaving the room speechless at the end.
Mark your calendars people!!!!!! Movie history was made in 2024.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Time to Give a chance
After watching the whole season I can safely say this adaptation was excellent!!! I can see fans of the series being disappointed in some alternate plot details but I believe it's time to see the bigger picture. It's time for the avatar legend to continue and the live action can do that. It can create and tell new stories even after the end of the original, and even though some plots were slightly changed, I dare say it was for the better. I've watched both the original and the live action and as a fan of the original I can say that some plot details were depicted clearer and even more descriptively than the original. However it's time to let comparisons go, it's time to see the avatar world rise once more because if it does not, we might not be ever able to witness the continuation of this story.
Shetland (2013)
Probably the best TV show ever watched
Ok, the plot of this show is mesmerizing. Every season manages to create a whole new plot different from any Murder mystery TV show you have ever watched before. The execution is great, the acting is great, the scenery is fantastic and the plot is in each season mind blowing, with meaningful twists based on details you missed in the whole show - not just twists giving away a bunch information on a character and presenting them as the murderer in the last episode BUT twists which reveal a whole new sub plot being unfolded in the same time which changes everything AND only by thinking hard enough, spotting all the details and connecting them with the only way it makes logical sense can we find this sub plot before it is revealed by the plot twist. That for me makes Shetland and especially season 3 the best show I have ever watched, excelling in acting, scenery but beyond all excelling in plot and writing flow - you can see them all peaking at season 3 making it the best season I have ever watched in any TV show.
Shetland: Episode #8.6 (2023)
Season 8 + Season 3 is top tier writing
Finally after the lackluster season 7 we go back to meaningful plot where every detail matters instead of throwing a bunch information on us the last minute for a character and presenting it as a great plot twist.
In this season you can really observe the writing attempt on the screen, as the story flows smoothly and all the strings meet together at the end of episode 5 which prepares you for the grand finale in season 6. The only drawback in my opinion that sets apart this season from season 3 (probably the best season of any TV show I have ever watched) is the murderer management that Shetland keeps on doing with most of each killers throughout the whole show - a character that is in the background the whole season only to be revealed in the end that he is the murderer. It makes it easy to find them so you are not as impressed by the plot twist.
The Traitors Australia: Episode #2.2 (2023)
Worst season of Traitors in every country
Season 1 of Traitors Australia was the best season of Traitors I have ever watched in any of the show's variants, it was a total masterpiece, you could even watch it as a series with everyone being really thoughtful of their actions and how they will project with a few loud noises to help the reality. Season 2 on the other hand is full of loud noises and it seems like no one even knows the game. It is literally a disgrace to have these people after a successful season 1. Hope the format returns to the original, celebrities just made it unbearable to watch as most of them don't even care about the game whilst in the previous season every character cared about winning or losing.
Glass Onion (2022)
A very bad sequel!!!
The cast is pretty good. The writing is the worst ever. Everything can be summed up in these two sentences.
I really don't know what the writer wanted to achieve. The murder case is just so stupid. You will probably guess the killer in the first 20 minutes and you will pray it won't be them. In the 30th minute there is no way back, congratulations you've found the killer and for the rest of the movie you are just waiting for a twist that never comes. It's literally like a different writer from the first one. In the first you had a really complex and clever case and in this one you have the most stupid case and murderer ever. Really disappointed!!!
Shetland: Episode #7.6 (2022)
A really mediocre ending
Well this season was very promising. Although there were some pretty good twists going on through the multiple episodes, the finale was lackluster. The final twist that reveals the big murderer is the exact opposite from season 3. Instead of a twist that could be seen by viewers if they thought hard enough, it was a last minute twist revealing a motive at the last second about a character that we could really never guess because we had no background info. About the second murder however committed by Lloyd's wife Alison, this was perfect. I believe Allison should be the one to commit all the murders, this would make most sense, it would justify the body found in Lloyd's car while he was the only one with keys as Allison could easily get them and it would also justify the beginning scene of Allison with Bryd and Connor in the sea as she would be the perfect person to be in this eco terrorist group instead of that writer about whom we learned everything at last second. To sum up a very good season with really bad ending. Take notes from season 3 please for your next season which is one of the best seasons out there. The plot twist there was just jaw dropping, perfectly executed and the best aspect is that it could be seen if you thought hard enough and fully connected the dots. In this season everything about the plot twist was the exact different. You created something great in Season 3 that will remain in my mind as the best season in a mystery series, please do it again for season 8!!!
Shetland: Episode #3.6 (2016)
Best season ever watched in a mystery series!
All my reviews are mostly around 7-8/10 of every mystery series because the plot twists presented are usually based in random information thrown in at last minute. In this series however the plot twist was always there and something was odd from the beginning you just had to use your brain to find it. It is the perfect plot, congratulations to the person who wrote the script. I've watched multiple series this season is by far the best of any. I hope the next season are as well made is this one and this will remain as the best mystery series I have ever watched. I hope you continue your good job.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
The 9/10 reviews are just false.
I read the reviews claiming it was one of the greatest thriller movies that are anticipating. I always tried to find the meaning that maybe things were different from what they seemed and tried to guess the truth till the very end. Turns out there is no truth to guess. When the big revelation of the aliens happened I couldn't but burst into laugh. They tried so hard to make it realistic and then the aliens were literally from nowhere. See it if you want to laugh only.
The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
The S(h)ame
It all stayed the same and in the next season everything will stay the same, and in season 100 all will stay the same just because it brings viewers to prime and bla bla bla.
