Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
Such a good sequel
Connecting the audience again with a 35 years old cult film is a hard thing. First of all, BR 2049 is an amazing movie to overcome that. Production is very consistent with the original, personally I felt that immediately I was in the same universe again(after all that time).
Harrison Ford part was designed very classy, Rick Deckard involvement to the story is convincing and seems natural.
Cinematography and visual effects were amazing. Movie makes the viewer to appreciate its visuals most of the scenes. It's is a joy to my eyes.
Shortly, well done Denis Villeneuve, well done sir.
Dobar dan za posao (2018)
About virtues, morals and regular class
A movie from Sarajevo but image can be any old socialist city. Story is even valid for wider, every working class hero can found some aspects.
Lead character is very naive, soft, passive towards many situations. Virtues of main character cause many troubles and harms him. Lack of power, self-respect and masculanity determines situations with others.
Questions will occur in viewers mind, what is right or wrong, moral or immoral.
Blade Runner (1982)
Pioneer Sci-fi, still watchable today
How can you not give credit to a science fiction movie made in 1982 but still can be watched 2021 ? Ridley Scott's cult cyberpunk set the bar so high and so early. You can see traces of Blade Runner in many modern sci-fi production.
Paprika (2006)
Creative,vivid, broad minding miyazakiesque experience
What a creative plot and details these were ! Japanese animes always find a way to grab your attention and tell you a story from a unique perspective. I can only advise anyone to enjoy this piece of art who come across this comment. As a not anime fan I found the idea, way of storytelling and styling just fantastic.
Also again as a not anime expert, I have found similarities with Hayao Miyazaki films. Probably reason is Miyazaki is the leading figure for this genre and people start watching his movies first. Anyway, Paprika was a Miyazakiesque experience for me.
PS: Hey Christopher Nolan, where did you inspire the idea of Inception from ? Dream manipulation is a really interesting idea, isn't it ?
Joker (2019)
How did Todd Philips direct this good ?
Beside the crazy hype before and after movie, a great, solid piece of art we did watch. Joaquin's oscar is well deserved and magic man De Niro is superb as always.
Overall, its a good psychological becoming of joker story. One big criticism for portraying Arthur Fleck (pre-Joker) mentally handicapped, passive attitidue. I can not find any sign of genius in Arthur as we used to see in Joker. At the end of movie Arthur was elected leader by anarchist Gotham movement. Again without will, or pleasure of Arthur. Seeing Joker as a floating around, passive character is the biggest minus for the movie.
Todd Philips showed us a grey, dirty and vicious Gotham. I also like the colours. Todd Philips surprised me in a good way, serving us a deep movie after Hangover, Due Date etc.
