The Punisher (2004)

Gives you more than you would expect
17 April 2024
The Punisher is a rather unconventional action film from the mid-2000s. It attempts to delve into deeper themes than expected, though it may have tried too hard. Instead of delivering the action-packed, high-kill count experience audiences crave, it focuses heavily on raw human emotion and character development.

The plot's pacing is decent, thanks to efforts to create engaging characters, though it could have been trimmed down. It follows a cliché storyline we've seen before, so I won't delve into that further.

John Travolta delivers the standout performance, while Thomas Jane's character falls a bit flat. However, Jane still manages a decent performance overall.

Despite its flaws, the film's atmosphere makes it worth watching. It has a certain vibe that fits well, though a bit more action wouldn't hurt.

Man I love this trilogy

Do you know the feeling when something just hits right? That's the feeling I got with 'The Equalizer 3', and it did not disappoint. Admittedly, it didn't quite reach the level of the first one, but that's partly due to the nostalgia bias associated with it. Now, onto the review.

'The Equalizer 3' had everything I had hoped for: an intriguing plot, solid acting, and thrilling action. While the plot may have been somewhat basic for this genre, it was still engaging and enjoyable to watch. The pacing was spot on, never feeling rushed. The acting was impressive, and I'm not just referring to Denzel Washington, who always delivers. The supporting cast, especially the Italian actors, delivered fantastic performances, adding depth and authenticity to the film.

The cinematography captured beautiful scenery, credit to the camera team for their work. Overall, 'The Equalizer 3' was a highly enjoyable movie that leaves you satisfied.

Better than most say

All the people literally hating on that movie for reasons that are so out of place, blow my mind. I read on review where the someone said that there is "bad acting". Oh boy, i simply dont know if we watched the same movie. The Veterans TLJ and Ben Foster deliver a stellar Performance which is very much believable and honest. But the other guys also give it their all, delivering a variety of emotions and had me liking and rooting for them more than I should have. The Movie is like many before me said, a slow burner, which for some people could be demotivating to watch. They could have cut some parts out which would have given the Movie the right pace where it was needed. But even though its very slow, the director managed to create intensity and suspense. I liked it. I would recommend it. Maybe not to everybody I know, but certainly to people that like the Portrayal of human emotion. Rating: 7.1.
