Greatest Days (2023)
Fat jokes, really?!
Woefully lazy writing. The "boys" have zero charisma. Fat jokes in 2023? Pathetic. Do better.
Despite the female leads being okay, the script really let them down. It's a musical but the singing and dancing is very poor, there is no chemistry between the female lead and her partner.
There are some feel good moments. The way the band are introduced with the leads parents fighting is really good and does a great job showing how music can take you to another place. Can be a comfort even when your life is falling apart. However, as the film progresses the Take That songs are shoehorned in and the delivery make classic songs sound rubbish.
I wouldn't recommend this film.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
It's so bad its brilliant.
Episodes often made up of poor script, acting, casting and special effects but it just WORKS. There are some brilliantly entertaining episodes, years and years on I still love the musical episode SO much, still cry in that Angel scene.
How I Met Your Mother (2005)
Sometimes brilliant, mostly mediocre.
Some really funny and heartwarming scenes in this series, but mostly it's just okay.
Killing Eve (2018)
Very good
Season one was brilliant, so different and funny, yet dark, season two lost little of its magic for me if I am honest but still excited to watch season three.
Fleabag (2016)
Fan-bloody-tasic
Loved this series, funny, fresh and exciting. Fantastic writing, clever filming techniques and the cast is perfect. Really wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.
Breaking Bad (2008)
Cranston and Paul are BRILLIANT
Great show, lost it's way a little in the middle but the ending was so strong. A great TV series.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Some great TV
Lost direction when there was no books to work from and it all went a little mental but it's a good, sometimes brilliant show that really upped the standard of TV series.
The Big Bang Theory (2007)
Loved the early seasons
Despite the quality of the content being patchy in the latter series it's still a good series that will make you laugh and even cry on occasion.
You've Got Mail (1998)
It's no Sleepless in Seattle but still great
I love Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan is perfect for this role. Lovely, heart warming romance.
Chernobyl (2019)
Watch it, it's good, just not quite as good as the hype.
Informative, shocking and well acted. It is a good series. It fell short of the "hype" for me and was drawn out and slow in several places but I would recommend a watch if someone was struggling to find a new series to binge.
The Object of My Affection (1998)
Dull as dishwater
I love Paul Rudd and Jennifer Anderson and a "chick flick" so when I stumbled upon this film recently I was so excited. A cheesy, heartwarming, feel good rom com from the nineties I've somehow missed! ...how wrong I was. Boring, so boring. It definitely one to miss.
Friends (1994)
Adore it.
It really was so good. I still remember my heart sinking when the last episode aired. I grew up with this show. Yes, watching it back there are some very... un PC moments but it was reflective of the culture of the time and I will always love it.
Dumplin' (2018)
Expected more
I REALLY wanted to love this film, on paper I do, but in reality it fell a little short for me. I love having a plus size leading lady but just wanted more from it.
Murder Mystery (2019)
Chewing gum for the eyes but I quite enjoyed it.
Don't expect anything original, great acting or storytelling but a good little piece of escapism for when you want to switch off.
Primal Fear (1996)
Norton is brilliant.
I am not a massive fan of Richard Gear however he is very good in this film. Edward Norton is just brilliant. Great film and would recommend to anyone.
Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
Timeless classic
I adore this film and could watch it over and over again. One of my very favourites, heartwarming and lovely. It's... magic. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are just such great leading characters whi have great chemistry. A classic I will continue to watch all my life.
Now and Then (1995)
A lovely little coming of age film
I loved this film growing up and watched it several times.
Smallfoot (2018)
Unexpectedly good!
My son really wanted to see this movie so I went to the cinema a little begrudgingly but was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it! Liked the characters and songs and overall message. Definitely worth a watch.
The Queen's Corgi (2019)
Awful.
The trailer made the film look quite funny so we were excited to take the children to watch it. Truth is it's dire. Not funny, at all. There was a part where a male dog was crying and they put a (foam) tutu on him and the female lead only liked the male lead when she found out he was "royalty": not progressive at all and actually really did not like the message that gives to young children. I urge to to save your money, not worth an expensive cinema trip in the least. Very disappointed and which I had never taken my children to see it.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
Completely inaccurate
Perpetuating the Hollywood version of Bundy. In my opinion not even a remotely accurate portrayal of him, his relationship with Liz or Carole. I dont understand why this film glosses over the majority of the most hideous things he did or that Liz had MANY warning signs and reported him to the police several times. I was incredibly disappointed by the vapid glamorisation in this movie, however, I was really impressed with Efrons acting in this movie and if you forget what it's about then maybe one could enjoy it.
