Morto Não Fala (2018)
A Good Brazilian Horror Movie.
A great jump-scares and great work out non-actors, but the storie and special effects is not good.
Summer of 84 (2018)
Unpredictable Predictable
From the beginning of the movie, the relationship between neighbors was already very strange, highlighting the policeman from the front house. At no point in the movie, the hideout or the serial killer in plot, in various scenes, you can look for other suspects, but fails, because the movie does not allow anyone to suspect to be a unique character. Admitting from the very beginning of the movie that you already know who he really is or murderer, he now wonders how he will be discovered, since the credibility of the same era was very high and showed no suspicion that anything would happen to the other residents of the film. City. In the end, when the viewer thinks he might have a very bad ending, or the movie just started or his last act. Main points:
- The movie has no scare, counts a total of 4 in all.
- For those who lived the 80's, can separate from a national film.
- The soundtrack is really spectacular.
- At the end, make room for a possible continuation.
Corações Sujos (2011)
A Great Storytelling
I will not compare with the book.
The film is really a historical work and subtly spells out the factors of the largest Japanese immigration from Brazil. But not only does this open up a discussion for just how cruel information asymmetry is and how it can put agents involved in social or economic relations in combatant situations. One can also identify something that was and perhaps even today is very common among immigrants, the relationship between the veteran immigrant and the newcomer, the pioneer immigrants opened orders of "invitation letter" that was required by the Brazilian government in order to acquire cheap labor and take advantage of their own countrymen.
Main points:
- The narrative is brief, without many details, but it has many historical contexts that obliges the viewer to seek historical context for greater understanding.
- Story told in parallel with the events of the war in which Japan was involved.
- A small part of the history of one of the colonies that came to Brazil to seek a better life at that time.
- The division of acts is well developed.
- Although the movie is Brazilian, only the actors who actually represented the Brazilians - have their nationality, the rest are all Japanese, giving an air of realism and little artificiality.
- The ending is little explored.
- Death scenes were not explicit.
