Hush (I) (2016)

A Very Clever Take on the "Home Invasion" Sub-Genre
8 April 2016
To make this short and sweet, all I need to say is watch this movie. Watch it with a big group of people.

It takes a very simple plot and makes it into a very well-thought out horror movie.

The opening scenes effectively establish Maddie's story to allow the audience to get to know and care for the character.

Once the masked killer arrives, it begins as your typical cat-and-mouse game seen in every home invasion movie. The main character being deaf does allow a fresh spin on this game though. And without giving much away, the movie slowly begins to evolve into a very tense, fun ride.

Not to mention the superb acting from Kate Siegel, given the fact that she was only able to use sign language and other resources as a form of communication. You wonder throughout the film what you would do in her shoes, and you may be surprised by the logic and resourcefulness of some of her decisions.

There are several moments that would likely get an audience riled up, so grab a big group of friends and enjoy.

The Sequel That We Needed
13 September 2013
When I heard that they were making a sequel to this, I was both over-hyped with excitement and very nervous because let's face it, sequels rarely live up to the expectations of the originals. Thankfully though, this one did not disappoint (relative to the extent of other sequels).

It starts off directly where the original left off, which is nice because there is not a huge time gap in-between. Not only do they continue chapter 2 right where the first chapter left off, but the story also goes more in-depth with Josh's past.

Will every hard-core fan of Insidious be impressed by this sequel? Of course not. Insidious: Chapter 2 felt very different from the original. It was mostly because Insidious seemed more unique when it came out, while this chapter is more of the same with a few exceptions (e.g., possession). Without giving any major spoilers away, I will say that the last 30 minutes seemed more of a "slasher" movie than a paranormal movie, which may turn some hard-core Insidious fans away.

The scares also seemed forced at times, possibly from trying too hard to make the sequel as good, if not, better than the original, but it was still suspenseful regardless.

Overall 6/10

The Right Amount of Every Genre
4 September 2009
I walked into this movie only knowing that it was about some crazy girl obsessed with some guy. I was like "oh yes another chick flick, can't wait...". In the end this is defiantly not a chick flick, it was a romantic comedy for both sexes. This movie was not overrated it had the perfect combination of comedy, romance, and even a scene of horror that had the whole theater jump. The acting in this movie was phenomenal and everyone can relate a little bit to this movie. The thing that made this movie awesome was that they made every character lovable. Usually I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedy's, but in my opinion this was one of the best I've seen since 50 First Dates. Another thing that made me love this movie was that it didn't drag and it either had me smiling or laughing the whole time. I could watch this movie over and over again.

The Best Horror Movie of 2009
31 May 2009
The trailer can look deceiving, the trailer for this movie is horrible but this movie is amazing. Also don't let the PG-13 deceive you this movie is just like something the Rami brothers would make. The effects in this movie were not the greatest but they were sick. There were some scenes in this movie that were so disturbing that I couldn't even look at the screen! The acting was very good. The storyline was pretty decent and the directing was very good. Something was popping out it seemed like every 5 minutes or so. When I left the theater my ears were ringing because it was so loud. Honestly this one of the best horror movies I've seen in a very long time. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone, defiantly a 10/10 everything in this movie was perfect!

Obsessed (2009)

The Funniest Thriller of the Year!
25 April 2009
Ever since I saw the trailer I knew this movie was going to suck really bad. I walked into the theater jam packed. The beginning started pretty descent, then once he started to get to know the "Obsessed" temp, the movie started to get really weird. I think they over exaggerated this movie way to much. The acting was horrible and the ending fight scene was hilarious! Everyone in the theater laughed when the quote "Bitch Breath" was said. This movie could of been a huge success, but they hired really bad actors and actresses. The girl that played the temp is a good actress, she knows better than to sign up for this crap. Overall I gave this a 5/10 because some of it was pretty entertaining, I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.

Very Weird, but Good
29 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't know what to expect walking in to this movie. I questioned myself "Is this movie going to be horrible, or is this movie going to be good?" The first fifteen minutes pretty much talks about the son having cancer, and the reason why they have to move into the house and why they can't move out. The movie was overall pretty good, but there was some flaws. Having something popping out every five second's can get pretty annoying, and the movie reminded me of way to many other movies. For example, when all the chairs getting stacked on to the table reminded me of The Poltergeist. Also the dead ghost haunting the people reminded me of The Messengers. Lastly the possession reminded me of The Unborn. The scares were pretty scary, the effects and picture quality were good, but cheap, and the acting was decent. Overall, the movie wasn't too scary, it was mostly creepy. I would give this a 6/10.

Fear Itself: Eater (2008)
Season 1, Episode 5
8/10
A decent episode
3 July 2008
I just finished watching "Eater", and I thought it was an okay episode. The ending was disappointing and the lights that kept going on and off were annoying and gave me a headache. The main girl was the only one that could act. The killer was creepy but kind of dumb at the same time. I thought it was a rip off of Hannibal Rising. It seems that the plot wasn't thought out well. This was not my favorite. I would say this would be my third favorite out of the five episodes. I would recommend it if you are bored. The effects were decent so that was a good thing. Overall I would would give the episode "Eater" a 8/10 for the good effects and a decent episode.

Fear Itself: Family Man (2008)
Season 1, Episode 3
7/10
A creepy beginning with a predictable ending
3 July 2008
The story is that a "Family Man" had a car crash by a serial killer and both almost died. Both wake up in each others bodies. The begging was creepy because the crash was dramatic and creepy. I didn't like anything else after that because the plot dragged and you knew what was going to happen from the beginning. The reason why I gave this episode a 7/10 was because the effects were awesome and the acting was descent. This would have to be my 2nd least favorite episode. It's better than "Spooked". I would recommend it since it seems like everyone on this website likes this episode besides me. Overall I would give the episode "Family Man" and 7/10.

Fear Itself: The Sacrifice (2008)
Season 1, Episode 1
9/10
A good first episode
3 July 2008
When I first saw this I didn't know what to expect. All I knew that it was about vampires living in a old creepy fort. The story is that there are four thieves trying to find help. What they find is three sisters living in a fort that they built to keep out the vampires. One of the sisters is evil and the other two are good. I thought the effects were really good and acting was good. The plot seemed well planned out and the ending was good. The traps that the evil sister put out were smart and tricky. Of course the ending was twisted like all the other episodes. Overall I would give the episode "The Sacrifice" a 9/10 for good effects and a good episode.

Doomsday (I) (2008)
10/10
Full of action and blood
15 March 2008
This movie was one of my favorite movies of 2008 so far. This movie reminded me of so many other movies. For example: Resident Evil, Stardust, and 28 weeks later. The plot of Doomsday is that a wall is separating the zombies and the non infected people. Except the non infected people are crazy. The main characters are brave which makes the movie a little more enjoyable. There is a big car chase scene in this movie which had some pretty cool deaths. Doomsday is more about people that eat other people than zombies eating people. They could make a video game out of this movie. 10/10 for the good graphics, blood, and action!

Untraceable (2008)

A really good thriller!
26 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This movie starts out good and ends out good. The ending was okay, they could of made it better. There were 1 or 2 moments in this movie that made you jump but thats it. The acting was awesome, the story line was perfect, the direction was perfect to. The reason why I didn't give it a 10/10 is because there were a few parts that dragged. That didn't stop the suspense! The movie was very smart. I love all the technology and how smart the killer is. Its so cool to watch all the stuff they do and how fast they can see where, and what the killer is doing. I would recommend this movie for sure. Overall, this movie deserves at least a 6. Warning: There is a scene in the movie where they show someone actually shoot their brains out.

One word, VIOLENT! : )
25 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
If is what I thought of the movie.

When I heard it was in subtitles I was saying to myself "OH CRAP!" But I seen it anyways. You forget that you are reading the subtitles because there was always a part that made the movie interesting. The Lybrinth isn't really a Lybrinth. Its more like a temple in a Zelda game. Actolly, the movie is exactly like a Zelda game. There are only a couple monsters and you only see them for a few. The chase scene is short. And one part a girl is getting chased through the labyrinth, what does that sound like? OH YEAH! The Shining! Most of the movie was about World War 2, and the movie had a lot of the main people dieing. I wont tell who though! Its sad, violent, and interesting. AND NOT FOR KIDS!!! Lol, so see the movie!
