Dark Phoenix (2019)
It's sorta not bad...
This movie is actually good until the 1 hour mark, at which point, it just fluctuates between bad and ok. Storm's writing is confusing given the context of Apocalypse since we haven't seen her bond with anyone, something this movie chooses not to do as well. The D'Bari, though heavily to the Dark Phoenix in the comics, are not the right villains for this movie at all and makes me wish that they'd kept to the original plan and done Emma Frost and the Inner Circle. The score for this movie is lackluster at best and feels more akin to gritty thriller than an X-Men movie. The movie also skips a huge element of Phoenix's motivation and decides to not have her desire feelings and emotions. This movie also forgets that Moira MacTaggart exists and just doesn't mention or show her despite building up a love story between her and Charles. Speaking of Charles, if he is paralyzed from the waist down, then how can he drive a car? He doesn't have telekinesis so how? Also, Quicksilver is an unnecessary addition to this movie that they just shouldn't have bothered including.
The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D (2005)
clearly someone drugged me
What the hell did i just watch. lavagirl is the only slightly enjoyable character. some moments are ok. just save yourself and don't watch it. lgbtq+ representation in the media won't corrupt kids mental processes, but this will.
