Old (2021)
Missed opportunity
At first glance, this movie's central idea and concept are genuinely captivating, promising a cinematic experience like no other. However, as the film unfolds, it's hard to ignore the glaring issues. The script stumbles, with events that border on the nonsensical, turning what could have been a masterclass in storytelling into something frustratingly mundane. While the innovative concept held vast potential, the movie's execution sadly falls short. A glaring case of a brilliant idea getting lost in its own ambition.
Giving it no more than 4 stars. Like I was stating it in the headline - A MISSED OPPORTUNITY.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)
Read this and think twice!
I guess someone who's okay with animal torturing wrote this script? Sometimes I am truly amazed by Marvel's and Disney's decisions. Just be warned, if you're easily triggered by violence, you won't enjoy the movie. Also do not watch this with kids.
"We should not keep our iconic heroes straight or white" - THIS IS HATEFUL. WE MUST CHANGE THAT.
"Demonstrating and showing animal torturing and killing scenes in this movie" - YES THIS IS NOT HATEFUL. THIS IS GREAT! WE LOVE ANIMAL KILLING.
Did not like it to say the least.
Of course, it's just a movie. It's just a CGI. But what the hell Disney, Marvel???
Vikings: The Last Act (2020)
Not exactly what you'd expect
Can't believe one of my favourite tv shows is over now. As anyone who followed the series, I was also expecting a pretty dramatic but at the same time satisfying ending of the show. Ending, which would summarise the most important events/results. Unfortunately, this is not the case here.
I don't know what happened, but it really feels like the show died after season 4. Almost seems like the storyline followed the true historic events up until the beginning of S05. After that, it was all just a "oh this would look cool, let's put it in!!"
As for the Season 6 - I can easily say, that if directors replaced the whole oleg/igor/RUS people part/idea with something that would focus more on the main characters and their development, the ending would have been better. Just because we spent so much time with meaningless rus people, it kinda feels the entire season was slow and boring as hell.
Apart from that, I also felt like way too many new characters bounced from being "nobody" to "king or queen" in a matter of 1-2 episodes, which developed 0% empathy to those characters and made me loose any interest in what was meant to be a major event!
Also the death of Ivar - as much as I hated him, I still think he did not deserve a death the series presented! That was very, very weak and was not emotional at all.
No information about Rollo. What happened to the guy in Greenland? A witch, wearing a crown in Kattegat... and a slave presented to series for 5 minutes, seating right next to her... really?
