A Terrific Film... very little I was disappointed with....
30 June 2002
Ha Ha! You know, I wasn't expecting too much out of this film, but I was pleasantly surprised I will admit. Breathtaking visuals, art direction and the story goes somewhere. The acting is good, even with the one-liners and whininess of Anakin Skywalker. You know, overall, I think Hayden Christensen did a good job. I mean come on, admit it. He was fine. It was the whining of his character that bothered me. Whining about Amidala, whining about how jealous Obi-Wan was of him. I mean there is only so much I can take. I'm very thankful that the film is 142 minutes so all that was spaced out. Natalie Portman as Senator Amidala also gave a good acting performance. She wasn't to bit*** and you saw enough of her to be satisfied. What I didn't like about her character was that she was so reluctant to give in to Anakin. Even though it was obvious that she wanted him. I mean come on! Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan was good as usual...I wasn't expecting anything less of him and I wasn't left disappointed. Same with Samuel L. Jackson, whom I like, but whose character and battle scenes are short-lived. I kind of wanted to see more of him. You saw him enough I will admit, and he interacted well with the other characters, but I wanted more of him as well as Yoda. Despite all that, which seems more than enough to hate the film, the action and the quasi-romance scenes make up all together. I've seen it twice and I plan on seeing it again. Period.

Keep it up, Lucas!

A Truly Excellent Film!
22 June 2002
My sweet Buddha! This is easily one of the best films I've seen all year. With a excellent woven plot, breathtaking visual effect...by ILM of course, and a good cast with good acting...like Roger Ebert said, "This is why we go to movies." My mouth dropped at the visual effects, the grisliness of some of the violent sequences, and finding out who actually framed Tom Cruise's character. I won't give anything away...but I was actually surprised!

Steven Spielberg is my hero...and always has been. After the ridiculiously underrated A.I. Artificial Intelligence, he goes back to the helm for Minority Report.

I wouldn't mind living in this vision of America 2054, but I don't know about the Precrime part. The only thing good about it is that it solved the murder problem in the D.C. area...which is obviously good.

Anyway...if you haven't seen this film, you are missing a very wonderful treat. Roger Ebert, Leonard Maltin, Joel Siegiel, USA TODAY, and many other national newspapers agree that this is the film to see!

The 74th Annual Academy Awards (2002 TV Special)

Facetious Whoopi, Zingers, Emotion!
28 April 2002
The 74th Oscars was a very good one. Whoopi's work as EmCee was very funny, and light. I personally loved her last apperance, which garnered some frigid reviews due to coarse language and salacious jokes, but that's fine. The audience seemed to like it. Halle Berry, Denzel Washington, Ron Howard, Woody Allen, and Sidney Poitier made this an Oscar telecast to remember.

I was very surprised by this film! A very good flick!
5 August 2001
WOW! My goodness. I was really surprised by this film. It brought so much in just 90 minutes. More action, more comedy and more fun makes this film a winner. The entire cast was wonderful. I was especially favored to Zhang ZiYi's character Hu Li. She was tough and just plain evil.

All in all, Rush Hour 2 was a blast to see and I will see it again.

Two Thumbs Up. A surprising ***1/2 out of 4.

GREAT FLICK! I WANTED MORE!!
23 July 2001
The movie was wonderful. I enjoyed the fact that the movie was too drawn out...it had a different look and feel, yet it was very good. At the end of the film...it didn't leave you hanging...it left you wanting more of the film. That is practically the only flaw in the film...it should have been 15-20 minutes longer.

This is probably why it got such good reviews...it didn't overstay its welcome.

With talks of a 4th installment...I can't wait.

Jurassic Park III has a good story, interesting characters, and a few good scares. A nice treat for the summer for fans.

A Absolute 10! A Wonderful, Haunting, Disturbing Film! *May have a spoiler or two*
1 July 2001
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen few films that goes off and beyond like "A.I." did. The sudden reality of the essense of the film goes beyond of what I was actually expecting. Goodness! The film is a prophecy in the making really. It seems just like a little fairy tale, but its not. Will we let ourselves reach this type of demise...in our own making? The film has breathtaking visual effects...some of the best that I have seen. Like Roeper said on his review, "it actually looks like NYC is under water."

Haley Joel Osment has really outdone himself this time. I see another Oscar nomination in his future. He would probably win this time.

However, this is what you expect when you put 2 legends of directing, a good cast, and smart story and good drama together. I wasn't expecting less from Spielberg to begin with.

Recommendation: Adults just go see the film. I don't think a child will sit through the film. There is some action in the film and it does it loud at points, but it won't excite the child. I don't know where the critics and reviews got 140 running time from, but I calculated 3 hours and 15 minutes...excluding previews and not adding credits. Can your child sit through that?

In conclusion, A.I., with startling and sometimes disturbing images, light humor and well-done plot and visuals, A.I. receives **** stars out of ****.

Good Film. Disgusting, crude, rude and abrupt; it's one of the most funniest movies I've seen to date. From the 1st film, the sequel will be most promising as this franchise become one of the most profitable comedy film franchises in a while. Good flick. ***1/2 out of ****

The Witches (1990)

A Children's Masterpiece! A good movie for all!
27 June 2001
"The Witches" is funny, and a little scary for those who haven't seen it. Music, Effects, Acting, Editing, and overall production of the film is a plus.

Anjelica Huston is terrific and Jasen Fisher is pretty good as Luke.

Ha! Ha! The Funniest Piece of Crap that I have seen in my life!
26 June 2001
"Jack Frost 2" is hilarious. The acting, effects, plot, cinematography, direction, editing, music and the overall production of the film was completely...terrible, but the film was F-U-N-N-Y. I have never laughed so hard at a single film. When the carrot and the ice cube were talking and those snowball were killing people, I thought I was going to die. Goodness! The way the script had Jack go all the way to the ocean to get a carrot was just the most hilarious, out of whack things I have seen in my life. It was worth $3.79.

Excellent! A Masterpiece!
26 June 2001
"Chicken Run" is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The animation is excellent. So is the story, and the humor of the overall film. A sequel would be the most prevalent and prudent thing to do with this franchise.

Chicken Run is a masterpiece.!

Wonderful Film! Good Acting, Story-Line, and Humor
24 June 2001
"Angus" is one of the most true to life, humorous and dramatic films I've seen in a long time. Talbert did a very good job portraying Angus and so did Kathy Bates and George C. Scott as Angus' mother and Grandfather. It was good to see Ariana Richards in a movie besides "Jurassic Park" and "Tremors." I have no clue on why she doesn't do more acting. She did a very good job.

All in all, the film was wonderful.

Very Good Action, Good Plot....***1/2 out of ****
22 June 2001
Forget Roger Ebert. The movie wasn't too long and the plot was not to complex. If you would just let go, you could enjoy it more.

The movie was fun and had good action sequences.

A true film for action fans.

Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, and John Travolta are very good actors and did a very good job.

If you haven't seen it, go see it.

Absolutely Wonderful!
23 May 2001
I thought the movie was truly a masterpiece. The acting in the film was a sight to be seen. Ben Kingsley, Lili Taylor and the whole cast did a spectacular job bringing the life of Anne Frank and the people around her back to life. The movie was pretty much straight foreward, and the writer and the director of the film didn't sweeten up what happened during the Holocaust like other films have.

I true work of art.

Friends (1994–2004)
THE BEST TELEVISION SHOW IN HISTORY!
11 April 2001
Let me tell you about my, "Friends." They are funny, boisterous in every sense and there is something fresh and new every episode. How can you not like the show? The show is awesome! I love each character equally, I would never say I like Rachel or Monica at any time. They all do their fair share in my opinion.

I can't contemplate why the show hasn't won an Emmy or a Golden Globe for their work. A whole bunch of nominations is what that show got. It needs to win, and I believe it will soon enough.

GO FRIENDS GO!

Wonderful Film!
11 April 2001
When I saw the film in 1993, I was like, "Wow! What a wonderful film!" The film itself is somewhat boring at spots, but all in all the films eliminates that through a good story and good acting.

Kate Maberly who starred as, "Mary" in the film is absolutely magnificent. I am wondering why I don't see her in many other films. Maggie Smith who was also in the film, of course brings a dramatic performance. I wasn't expecting anything less from her.

I really enjoyed the film and everyone should at least see it once.

I don't know how they did it, but the film has alot of drama, however, it doesn't get too mushy. Not at all!

Get something to eat, and sit back and enjoy this cinematic masterpiece.

Okay film....
11 April 2001
The film itself it not that bad. Sometimes the acting in the film is nerve-racking. The action in the film is good and the story- line is all right, but that acting.

In order to have a movie, you have to hire good, capable actors. Ted Jan Roberts, and Stephen Furst does not count as good actors.

Think really hard, what have you seen them in?

Explain that one. I have nothing against them personally, however they need to get some more acting skills.

Besides that, the film wasn't really bad.

Two and a half stars out of four.
