The Boys (2019)
Politics edge a show of greatness
I loved the concept. It feels so realistic. This is definitely how superhero's would have to function in a real life scenario. The first season is amazing and the acting is very amazing. Politics make an appearance in season 2. It's well written in and it doesn't matter what side of the isle you align with it's noticeable, but it's not game breaking. However, season 3 and on get so sickening. The writers have one thing in mind and one thing only, shock factor. It begins to get grotestic and absolutely unbearable to watch. You hold on because of the love you bare the characters but it's simply not worth it. I'm in for one more season and hope that the story wins out but the shock factor and hateful politic rhetoric will most likely kill it for me. 6/10 for the greatness of the concept but I believe my interest will fade to a 0.
I Survived a Crime (2021)
Facebook streamer quality
Do you own what ever generic editing software that came with your computer? Do you know how to google stock footage? Did you take any 101 journalism class at a community college? Then you too could produce a crappy Facebook streaming style clip compilation show! Seriously this show is just awful. Everything about seems like it was made on iMovie not even iMovie pro. Crappy "grainy" filters put on every viral video to the point where just googling the videos yourself would be better. The natural disaster shows that used to air on Spike TV back in the 90's from VHS tapes had better quality. The host's dialog is strained and clunky. The video interviews he does with survivors is wickedly cringy. If you're going to waste any portion of your life mindlessly viewing viral crime clips just do it on IG or Facebook and save yourself from this eyesore.
Echoes (2022)
Had potential
The concept had a nuclear amount of potential. Unfortunately, the acting, directing, dialog, and casting caused a melt down. Typical Netflix fashion the casting is just everywhere to make everyone feel represented but makes the series feel like the casting agent handed out roles at random. Takes place around a horse ranch but it's clear none of the producers/director have ever been in the south. The phrases are cliche, the accents abysmal, the "small town feel" nauseating.
Definitely good for a brainless watch if you're looking for some very cheap thrills with WAY over the top twist, but all and all a laughable attempt at drama.
Bruised (2020)
Bruised goods..
Bad real bad. I love Halle Berry but the director/leading actor role may not be for her. A good storyline for an actress in her late 30's but Berry was not that character. The story was unbelievable, the dialog was absolutely horrendous, plot holes left and right, then a random lesbian romance between fighter and trainer? A feel good story like if the Disney channel could make an R rated movie for tv production. Just bad.
