Trying too hard to be cool.
5 May 2024
What a missed opportunity for a good movie. No one talks like this; every other sentence has a curse word. Gratuitous nudity. Good to see Bryan Brown & Dermott Mulroney. The parents are characters, not real. Awkward. Disappointing. So many references to drug use, like it's a common and natural thing to brag about. These conversations and strange situations make the lead characters less likeable. The lead female character seems way too young for the male lead, and they some what address that. Then, instead of the female lead dressing a mature age, she dresses in revealing clothes with her boobs hanging out, as if that's appropriate for a holiday with parents. She's written poorly with no sense of direction.

Friends: The One with All the Kissing (1998)

One of my FAVORITES
13 September 2023
I could watch this one over and over and day, any time! Always a great pick me up. Every character, even Gunther, has their character traits on full display in this episode. The writer(s) for this one clearly know and love our friends. From the first scene to the last, it's a classic!. I've been late for many an appointment because I just can't stop watching. All the facial expressions are just perfect. We are routing for Ross & Rachel to finally figure things out. The guest Dave character is the perfect foil to Rachel's indecision. Sweet Chandler, silly Joey, quirky and kind Phoebe and clueless Ross with his controlling sister Monica are classic alongside Aniston's embodiment of adorable Rachel make this episode a treasure.

Way fun! Empty your bladder before watching

Warning: Spoilers
I'm so glad we first saw it in the theater! My kids and I, we feel on the floor laughing so hard! I live how the stars of the movie STAY true to their young characters throughout the entire movie. Jack Black totally pulls off the bright and beautiful Bethany while DJ is somehow always the best Spencer despite his grand physique. I've seen it many more times at home now and still cry at the end when they see Alex. It's a total blast adventure movie and it's great to see how the characters evolved was a result of their adventure together. The best part is that it's a feel good movie because it's week written, full of laughs and ends just how you want it to end.

Wow. Just Wow!
19 January 2023
While I liked season 1 and season 2 was really good, I have fallen in love with this town and these people by season 3. That was such a fantastic, lovely, heart-lifting and heart-tugging season (3). I have to say, the first few episodes of season 4 were a STRUGGLE, y'all. I am not from Texas, at all, but I feel like the Taylors are family and that town is my town. I suggest you stick with it, maybe don't binge watch it because it's tough. But like Andy Dupree at the end of Shawshank, you will reap the the rewards at the end, you've just got to crawl through the muck and yuck and foulness of how bad it can get and how perseverance and PRIDE and loyalty and friendship, love & trust will lift you up and out into paradise and happiness. I'm looking forward to season 5 and the emotional roller coaster that awaits.

The Crown: Queen Victoria Syndrome (2022)
Season 5, Episode 1

An astonishing start
10 November 2022
We've waited years for this season to premiere. A disappointing start. The cinematography is beautiful. That is all. There's a rather rough start with the acting, primarily for Diana & Charles. The story's focus is mainly on Diana. The writer also shows a thinly veiled attempt this season to portray a family of spoiled, rich & entitled snobs who are careless with their extravagance and have no care in their charitable duties. This season seems the least realistic of them all. Foy's devoted QE2 was harder to find in S3-4 and is gone now. This arc is the fault of the writing, not the players. I fear it will only get worse.

I want my 2 hours back

The title doesn't match the movie. The characters have no redeeming value. I'm not rooting for these people. Almost every scene is non sequitur. I've not seen anything this bad since Roma.

This Is Us: Miguel (2022)

Wow! Simply amazing!
5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I was not even going to watch this episode. My expectations for seeing a story about Miguel were so low, mostly because there wasn't much of a story on him throughout the series, I think. But this episode GRIPPED me from the first scene and when it ended, and I'm crying at losing him and the beauty of his life and love and devotion. I feel spent now. There was a nice blend of comic relief woven through the episode and seeing Rebecca together with Miguel, I now find them adorable and inspirational. I hadn't felt like that in all 5 preceding seasons. This episode is the crown jewel of the series.

I'm loving this!
29 January 2022
Thank you, HBO Max, for gifting us this intense, heart warming, gut-wrenching drama! I love the people, the commraderie, the gore, the complex situations, the suspense; all of it! I'm rooting for characters, I'm rolling my eyes at other characters and laughing at the comic relief in between! My teenagers and I look forward to bingeing a few shows each week!

Too slow and lacking truth
16 January 2022
I bailed after the eel episode. Nothing is happening. Just piling on nonsense. I can easily suspend reality., but it helps to know why I should go along for this hayride. The actor playing the brother, Julian does such a great job. They should use him more. I have no care to keep watching to see any character development because I don't care about any of these characters enough to keep torchuring myself in the process. Slow and uninteresting. I have better things to do.

So fun!

Whenever Bebe shows up, it's a party! It's wonderful hearing Call Reiner in the beginning calls. Frasier's response to his problem is classic.
