Reviews
Underworld (2003)
the proof that images can sell a movie
I was lured by the promising plot, but especially by the astonishing poster...
It's the only thing the movie has of good.. it's the cinematography, and the graceful sweeps of the cameras... the plot could be sooo much more explored, and both actors are definitely not fit for the role.
O Lampião da Estrela (2000)
Marco horácio!!!
He´s problably the best stand up comediant in Portugal. seeing him in this movie is not enough. he deserves much more protagonism... his own show!
Metoroporisu (2001)
as powerful as blade runner, as moving as A.I.
I just saw it yesterday, and I was compelled to reflection as the night went. actually, I should be thinking about mechanics, but that it the power a movie can have. and this one has it for sure. there are few films that make me look up to the future with not so bright a glance, but this one made me realize that(like A.I. did), if we ever reach that technology, that will be a war we will face.
Minority Report (2002)
a hard work on what is best: security or privacy
it was an excellent film, with a very real worry behind all the futuristic science fiction. other than that, the only flaw I can see in it is the lack of soul. something that creeps into you and stays there until it merges inside. something that artificial intelligence had in vast amounts.
A Bomba (2002)
you hate big brother? you'll like this movie
it does a LOT of reality shows bashing at the old portuguese way. the problem is that the plot was not explored, it depends too much on stupid gags and such, and althoug the actors are good, they are not explored as they should have been. still it makes for some enjoyable 90 minutes.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
It is pure work of art.
I have never felt out of breath during a movie, but every time I see Rivendell in all it's wonder... I never once thought I would see lord of the rings turned into a film, much less one so excellent!! eager eager to see the two towers...
