Better Call Saul: Plan and Execution (2022)
Mind blowing episode
This was such a phenomenal episode. And we still have half a season left to go! Things finally come to a head and the payoff for the whole Howard plotline feels totally worth it. How can a prequel show possibly be this tense?!
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
What a letdown
Wow...so that happened. This was such an unsatisfying ending to a series that had potential to be one of the greatest shows ever. So many unresolved storylines. So many pointless characters. So many filler scenes that were not needed. Even the major character deaths in this episode didn't feel very impactful. It's obvious that the writers just wanted to end it as quickly as possible. This one left a bad taste in my mouth and I probably won't be giving Ozark a rewatch knowing how it all ends. Such a bummer.
Better Call Saul: Rock and Hard Place (2022)
Not the ending I wanted, but still the ending that makes the most sense
Everything about this episode was phenomenal. Nonstop tension from beginning to end. And sadly we had to say goodbye to our beloved Nacho who went out like a champ. I wanted a different ending for him obviously, but this one is the most realistic for him. And he got to go out on his own terms without being bullied around by anybody else. I couldn't have asked for a better ending for such an iconic character.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: No Matter How Many Lives (2022)
Letdown of a finale
I really wanted the final episode of this season to be amazing especially since it was gonna be 45 mins long. But sadly, that wasn't the case. Nezuko conveniently saves the day and burns away all of the poison from our beloved characters. The intense cliffhanger at the end of the last episode doesn't feel so intense anymore knowing that it had no real consequences.
And then, we got the backstory of the Upper 6 demons. I just...felt so uninterested in their backstory. I already get the point: all of the Twelve Moon demons were humans at some point who had horrible lives. I really don't need to see the backstory of every one of these demons unless there's some sort of unique twist to it where they don't try to make us feel sad for them. This arc overall was amazing though, I just wish this finale had more meat to it. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good, it was just meh.
Better Call Saul: Bad Choice Road (2020)
Tell me again
No Lalo, I don't wanna tell you again. Just take my 10/10 rating for turning this show into a masterpiece.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Savagery (2021)
SIMP MIKASA EXPLAINED, A BEATDOWN, AND SLICEY MONKE
What an amazing episode. I loved every second of every minute of it. They still manage to drop more unexpected twists on us even 4 seasons in. I'm so excited to see how this first part of the season wraps up, there's just so much more to unpack.
Also the Levi vs Beast Titan part 2 fight was still epic even though it had the same outcome as the first fight which takes some real talent. For sure one of the best animes of all time.
Breaking Bad (2008)
I don't really like this show
I don't like this show, I freaking LOVE this show. Best TV series out there, no competition. If you haven't seen this show then I truly envy you. I wish I could erase my memory and experience it all over again. Deserves all of the praise it gets and all of the actors deserve every award they received.
The Boys: Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker (2020)
Too many convenient things happening for our heroes
This one was probably my least favorite episode of the season. Here are the main things that bugged me about the episode:
1. Starlight getting the crap beaten out of by Black Noir and not using her powers to defend herself.
2. Lamplighter's handprint still conveniently being in Vought's system.
3. Starlight breaks out of confinement so easily because some idiots decided to lock her in a room that conveniently has a fire alarm.
4. Maeve appearing in the nick of time to save Starlight and somehow forcing a candy bar down Black Noir's throat.
5. The obvious pandering that I won't even begin to start ranting about.
Some things I did enjoy were the head popping scene in the courtroom and Butcher threatening Vogelbaum. Overall, this episode was a let down and very mediocre in my opinion.
The Boys: What I Know (2020)
Strong finish to an overall so-so season.
This episode saved this season from being lackluster. It's definitely the best episode of the season. There was a great female empowerment moment that didn't feel like it was shoved down our throats (looking at you Avengers Endgame). The acting was top notch all around and the stakes actually felt high. I'm so glad this episode was as good as it was, because I began to consider dropping the show after this season. But I'm still invested in these characters after this episode and I'll definitely be back to see what they do with them in season 3.
