Barbie (I) (2023)
6/10
6.9 - better than what most people told me
1 October 2023
Yes its a Barbie which means it will be on par with the animated movies (having a lead character and the story revolving around her), but when I put it on my, the acquired humor caught me unexpectedly and the movie had a few high points and it somehow, for god knows what reasons, kept my interest.

The conflict part which started when Ken was introduced to the men world was pure comedy. The whole KenLand was pure comedy and imo probably the best part.

On the other hand, I also wasn't a fan of how they the BarbieLand was essentially controlled by you know who, but it was exactly the opposite of what happens in real world so yeah if what happens in the real world, being rules by men, is justifiable then yes BarbieLand practices are also right.

On a whole a good small giggly movie but not worth a rewatch.

6.8 - good movie but too much unnecessary drama
28 September 2023
The movie has a very good tone, I would say something like "Air" where also Ben Affleck starred. Starts of good, nothing much happening, more like a setting up for the drama that follows.

Tony was a nice character, not like out of world directed but I would believe its a true story the way the characters are setup and the way the story is displayed.

So my objection and the reason on giving the rating is because the movie took a little late to take off and when it did it was a little to dramatic that, it being based on true story, doesn't hold in the real world. Yes, its a movie and they want drama but man they little were putting suspense that wasn't even required like something less and more realistic would have also worked. If I be honest I was on the end of couch all invested in the drama so it was good in a sense.

6.2 - in the same ballpark as other movies during the 2000s
17 September 2023
Umm, a good laugh with few dialogues and scenes. The introduction is really funny and creates a connection between you and the protagonist. I am not from Bihar and have only heard bihari accent from the movies but I felt Madhavan's take on Bihari accent was funny.

On the story side, just a typical timepass storyline, nothing too much happening. There wasn't anything extraordinary that you wouldn't have seen before, but it also isn't boring in a sense that you wouldn't have the urge to turn it off halfway.

Climax was so so, but this movie would have been way funnier if the exact storyline was in Punjabi.

5.6 - CID Episode? a fine watch nothing rewatchable
17 September 2023
The movie feels more like an average CID episode, not a lot is happening. The plot is moving like its a television show and not a theatrical movie. Manoj Bajpayee acting somewhat carries the movie but still what can a single man do if the plot is just straight up flat with no climax whatsoever.

Even if you are not great at guessing, your guess will be right on who the killer is. A below average murder mystery which doesn't provide you with any significant entertainment.

Unnecessary dialogues and filler scenes just to make the movie longer, you can fit the whole story in 40 mins of CID episode and I wouldn't notice that you shrank it or missed anything.

6.9 - man I could feel the pain through the screen powerful
17 September 2023
Overall a good watch with great songs that make you fall in love. Very powerful movie, sometimes society and helplessness pushes man to deepest holes in the world and its very rare someone survives that. This movie is about struggle and unnecessary suffering to daughters.

Pakistan is a beautiful country with very beautiful people but there are still people like Hakim who want their women to be stuck in a room and be left behind in the world and society. And the society is so cruel in supporting people, I mean why is having all daughters considered a crime eventho literally in the religion it says a daughter is a blessing.

I am loss of words for Saifullah, the pain he went through. I hope the world gets better.

8.2 - Nolan carrying cinema
11 September 2023
IMAX 70 mm was the best choice and while watching it in there, surely this experience was mesmerizing. A great movie and beautiful piece of art.

Story telling was at peak, the character's interaction with each other was very intense. Never felt there was a low moment in the movie where nothing was happening, yes there were scenes where there were just dialogues but the score, narration and characters made it so fascinating that I was enjoying no doubt.

I went going in cinema, expecting a movie biopic about nuclear physicist with a Nolan wrap on it and surely I received it with both hands. The last hour of movie where all the court scenes were happening was my favorite part of it. Have watched it twice and very happy with it.

iZombie (2015–2019)

6.8 - Slowly becomes your average zombie show
9 September 2023
First of all, shout out to Rose Mclver; what an acting. It's not often a person can do so many roles, become so many characters and transfer that sensation to the audience. Olivua Moore does just that.

Shows starts of very interesting, charming idea where Liv is doing great surviving and helping. The excuse of psychic was a bit weak but nevertheless very somewhat original idea of memory visions.

My reason for 6/10 is the very slow advancement of the story, I mean comeon at times taking 3-4 episodes to tell something that can be told in one episode easily. Towards the end it just became a zombie show like literally any other zombie show. The zombie having consciousness was very cool idea. Overall, not a show I would watch just to watch it, it was more like a background noise for ne when I did my work. Won't watch again but nice.

7.6 - shakes your core
9 September 2023
Big fan of Rajkumar Rao, this movie was very depth based. I always love watching true-story movies and Shahid really stood out in it. The debate scenes were very beautiful and bone shivering on how deep the hatred is.

Fighting for someone who can't fight for themselves isn't anyone's cup of tea and Shahid showed exactly that. Calling people out is easy, helping someone is hard. The story telling was very stunning and emotions were high throughout the movie.

World is a very dark place and people like Shahid bring light to it and movies like these highlight thr impact of that light. I would gladly watch this movie in a Cinema and feel it to the core.

7.7 - Unexpectedly good credit to Atlee
9 September 2023
You can tell its directed by a South Indian but that's what make it beautiful. Insane cameos, powerful cinematography. Imo one of the best SRK action movies. The fights were engaging, little humor everywhere created very good atmosphere.

After watching Pathaan where they had a very dull climax, I wasn't hyped a lot for this movie, hell barely saw the trailer but entering the cinema my views changed. Flying start, story was somewhat new but also had a lot of inspiration from previous series like Money Heist.

Someone who never hates on South Indian style action, this movie provides just that but with a high budget which you can see throughout the movie.

They are just taking it too long. The marriage should have happened a long time ago. Waste of time.
