The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Greatest Musical of All-Time
Margaret Hamilton played The Greatest Villain in the history of cinema. Most of us saw it the first time as children, if you're like me you didn't want to leave Oz. Four crucial elements to great films: Story, Characters, Sound, and Music. Tough to find any flaws in these as old as the film is. Used to watch this film almost everyday when VCRs first hit the market. This film has quite possibly the greatest re-watch value in cinematic history. Masterpiece.
Now, Voyager (1942)
Surprisingly Good
Was very reluctant to see this film after reading the synopsis. Love drama is usually not my cup of tea. Charlotte was just too compelling of a character to not like. Bette Davis shows off her acting range in this film and gave me a true appreciation of her work. Gladys Cooper is outstanding and Ilka Chase is solid. The score is great, if you're a fan of film scores this might be worth a viewing. Glad I saw this film.
The Heiress (1949)
Olivia DeHavilland is Perfect
Outstanding film, I highly suggest seeing it. My favorite Olivia de Havilland performance and one of my favorite character arcs. Wyler's direction is outstanding and the last scene is iconic. How can you not love Olivia de Havilland in this film? Montgomery Clift and Ralph Richardson give solid performances as well. Beautiful Film.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Trash after season 4
First season was great and a solid book adaption. Season 2-3 are pretty decent and season 4 is my favorite. Season 5 is awful except for possibly episode 8 and it still has faults (i.e shaky cam). Seasons 6 and 7 are a bit better than season 5 however, they are weakened by the utter garbage season 8 is. Skip this show, my suggestion.
Mrs. Miniver (1942)
Wyler's worst
Complete garbage and highly over rated. I still can't believe Wyler directed this schlock. Not worth your time.
