RuPaul's Drag Race: Corporate Queens (2024)
Season 16, Episode 11
8/10
Mostly a great episode
17 March 2024
My main complaint is with the rankings.

The bottom two was correct, based on challenge and runway this week. The eliminated Queen is correct, to be honest I'm surprised she lasted this long NGL. My biggest gripe with this episode is that we had three queens who did well in the challenge, and did well on the runway, but they were all safe. We then had a Queen who flopped hard in the challenge, but had a good runway, and she somehow won this week? Statistically that's a no. Judges playing favourites again. I think the Queen that "won" this week should have been in the bottom, but ultimately safe.

My second issue with this episode is the editing. They clearly over-edited the presentations, and it's obvious. The slides in the background change around. I wonder what else this weeks "winner" flopped on.

Nobody knows what Goth is..
11 March 2024
Honestly it's just "Addams Family" and "Elvira", this isn't Goth. The looks were mostly great. Q reminded me of Johnny Slut (Specimen), kind of Alien Sex Fiend. Dawn, Nymphia and Plane were great.

Bottom two were undoubtedly in the bottom.

I'm annoyed Mia was safe because backflip, again. It's boring and she doesn't bring anything to this competition. She's sitting in someone else's place on this show. I'm annoyed that Mia got carried. To be honest she should have gone home weeks ago, She's not on the same level. Someone else created the garment for her, I feel like that goes against the challenge and she should have been eliminated on that alone.

Most annoying thing for me tho was that nobody knows what Goth is. It's a MUSIC based genre, that came out of Post-Punk. They had a Goth week and used a Lady Gaga song for the lip sync??? Really? I feel like Siouxsie and The Banshees would have been a good fit. They had options.

The episode seemed like a parody.

It's actually embarrassing that this is what Canada gets
8 December 2023
USA has top quality production, great guests and RuPaul Charles. AllStars has top quality production, great guests and RuPaul Charles. Secret Celebrity has top quality production, great guests and RuPaul Charles. UK has top quality production, great guests and RuPaul Charles. Australia gets top quality production, great guests and RuPaul Charles.

Canada gets 1980s production and lighting, "who the hell is that?" guests, and the worst judges panel ever seen. The contestants are mostly fine, but the judges are terrible, the critiques are wrong, the challenges are stupid and the quality is complete trash. Worst of all the Drag Race shows.

RuPaul won't even put her damn name on it, it's just "Drag Race Canada".

The winner gets $5 worth of Excel gum and 200 Optimum Points. Racers start your engines eh?

Not just robbed, that was a hit job.
13 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
They had no right to put her in the bottom when she was CLEARLY in the top. While watching the runways everyone in my household said the same thing. It's a toss up between Chedder and Dakota winning. Danny safe. Pixie, Jombers and Peppa in the bottom.

I think lip sync should have been Pixie and Peppa tbh. Production coming in to mess things up again. Classic RuPaul hit job, and she wasn't even there to do it herself. Nonsense. Complete trash. Makes me doubt the entire show. What are the rules anymore? She had THE BEST family resemblance, they looked SO GOOD. Makeup was always ON POINT and Michelle has the balls to tell her to change it up. Why mess with perfection?

Fantastic episode. Don't listen to the haters, they're not really Trek fans.
7 August 2023
Classic fun Star Trek episode. I love this show and this cast.

It was really fun to see this cast perform in a musical episode, we get to hear some really great singers (with some auto tune for those that aren't so musically trained for good measure), the choreography was great.

We get some great character development for La'an (who is quickly becoming one of my favourite Star Trek characters of all time) and Kirk, as well as some great developments with Chapel and Spock.

Overall this is a great episode, and it 100% IS TRUE STAR TREK. Forget what these haters are saying, this is absolutely classic fun Trek. Other seasons have had silly episodes; Ménage a Troi, Budda-bing budda-bang, Qpid, Trouble with Tribbles, Our man Bashir. These so called "fans" seem to forget these corners of Trekdom.

Also, for those "fans" that are saying Roddenberry is "rolling in his grave"... he was FAMOUSLY cremated, and his ashes were sent to space.

Lighten up, have some fun, and enjoy the show!

A decline from previous episodes.
3 December 2022
This episode is a decline from the previous. The writing and dialogues are terrible. Gomez and Morticia don't have any personality similarities to The Addams Family characters, and their acting is probably the worst on the show.

During the flashback, Gomez was struggling in a sword fight, yet in the original Addams Family he was always known as an expert swordsman.

Did the writers ever watch the original?

I like Guzman as an actor usually, but this isn't the same character as previously portrayed (perfectly) by John Astin and Raul Julia.

Overall I enjoy Wednesday and Thing as characters, but this isn't The Addams Family, it's basically Riverdale with a Addams twist.

Im also curious what role Tim Burton actually had in this show, not much it seems.

Review bombed by incels?
2 September 2022
It was a good episode. I'm really not getting why so many people are review bombing and giving it a 1/10. You're insane if you're giving this a 1.

This show gives you exactly what they said they'd give you: a courtroom comedy based in the MCU. That's what this is. It's not a Captain America movie, it's not an Avengers team-up. It's a comedy. It's funny. Anyone complaining there's not enough action is forgetting that it's not an action show, that's not what it's about.

Let things be different, and let people enjoy things.

Also why is it that all of the 1-star reviews are spouting some incel nonsense, or calling Megan Thee Stallion "Megan whatever, I don't know her", if you're interested in knowing LOOK IT UP. You're already here on IMDB. Go to the cast section and click on her name and find out who she is.

Somehow worse than the final season of GoT.
22 August 2022
This episode in one word: BORING.

It wants to be GoT so badly. Remember the tournament? Well we have that too.

Remember how there was a prince as commander of the city watch, yeah we have that too. Remember the scene where a child of a main house studies about the lineages of the other houses, yep that happened here too.

There isn't a single original thought here, it's like a bad fan fiction.

Another fun episode ruined by production and judging
21 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
These judges are on drugs.

The cast is fun, but they keep saving the worst contestants and putting safe people in the bottom. On what planet is Irma in the bottom?

Perfection
20 August 2022
Dream of a Thousand Dreams was one of my favourite short stories from The Sandman comics (issue #18, 1990). This adaptation is shot-for-shot from that comic. The dialogue is the same, the visuals are the same (but updated and animated). It's the book come to life on screen. What dreams are made of.

Perfection.

Tatiana Maslany is perfectly cast.

It's fun, gives you the backstory and gets you caught up within the first episode.

Loved it, I want next weeks episode NOW!

SENSATIONAL
19 August 2022
Love it! Tatiana Maslany is amazing, as always.

It's fun, lots of great humour and tie-ins with Bruce Banner / The Hulk.

The fourth-wall breaks were funny. It's something they took from the comics and it totally fits (Deadpool is another character that breaks the fourth wall).

Not sure how/why this is being rated down, it was perfection.

I don't like the format.
15 August 2022
RuPaul shamelessly stealing again.

This is Lip Sync Battle and The Masked Singer but "in drag". I like season1's format infinitely better. I don't think I'm watching the rest of this season. It's not for me.

The Sandman: Sleep of the Just (2022)
Season 1, Episode 1
10/10
A perfect episode. The best hour of TV this year.
6 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As a huge fan of Neil Gaiman, and the Sandman series, I have been excited for this show since it was announced. I hold the books in such high esteem, and I prayed all year that this show would do the books justice.

I do not hesitate to state that this is absolutely the greatest hour of television I've seen all year.

The casting is perfect, the cinematography is perfect, the music is perfect. Pages turned to life before my very eyes.

Neil Gaiman is nothing short of a literary genius.

This single episode has me beyond excited.

I look forward to the body aches I will inevitably get once I pull myself from the coach, 10 hours from now, after I binge this entire season.

Also as an aside, the comments regarding "wokeness" are not required. Neil Gaiman himself wrote the characters and was part of the decision making for this show.

Death is not human and thus can take any skin tone she damn well pleases. Lucifer is an angel and has no gender, Lucifer is intentionally androgynous. Joanna Constantine is an existing character from the books, not a gender swap of John Constantine, although yes she seems to be amalgamating some of the storylines into her own. (Google it).

This is a show about DREAMS, and dreams can take many forms. Your anger towards the deserved liberties the series takes, only shows your own prejudices; it is not an accurate portrayal of fact.

Great episode but the judging ruins it
4 August 2022
A recurring trend on Canada's Drag Race.

Cast is great, fun mini and maxi challenge.

The judging is off, and seems like it's just production messing around again.

Tops and bottoms were correct.

Winner debatable, but I'm not mad.

Bottom two, correct based on the challenge.

But they sent the winner of the lip sync home, again.

More terrible judging
2 August 2022
Thought I'd give season 3 a chance after skipping most of season 2, but it's more of the same. Of the bottom three, they picked the wrong 2, and then sent the wrong one home.

The cast is (mostly) fun, but the judging is straight trash.

Canada deserves better than this.

Classic Trek
15 July 2022
So many people rating this low who have clearly never watched Star Trek before.

Every Trek series has episodes like these, usually in a holodeck. This is classic Trek. A nice change of pace; funny and intentionally over-acted.

People need to lighten up.

Lazy
10 May 2022
Lazy lazy writing. Everything was forced. The car crash scene just to "remember when this happened a few seasons ago?" Characters coming back for no reason at all.

Seems like a classic case of writers not knowing how to end their show. Worse ending than GoT.

Absolute worst episode of the entire show. Kind of ruins it.

Picard and Seven are great characters. I don't care AT ALL about the rest of the new cast.

Some TNG cameos were nice, but honestly i hope Seven was right and the Borg destroy Starfleet at this point, this isn't StarTrek.

Nice episode
28 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The reads were good, the songs were great, performances were good, runways were good.

Lip sync was pretty bad, but the right person stayed. I was surprised Willow wasn't top, because I thought her performance was the best of all of them.

Crystal is getting very mean this season, I don't like it.

Fun, but not happy with the outcome
6 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lemon didn't deserve to be in the bottom, or to go home. I'll start with that. Bimbo intentionally lost that lip sync so she didn't have to vote. Monique is the stereotypical American, on the world stage.

Buuuuuut overall it was fun, it's a neat idea.

Second half was decent.

The first half was pretty boring, not sure why Jon Snow was in this at all. Second half was decent. The best part was the Superman VS Flash fight on the beach.

Kind of ruins Boba Fett for me...
30 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In the original trilogy Boba Fett was cool because he was mysterious. He was a bounty hunter that had a cool jetpack, and had a flame thrower.

We didn't see his face, we didn't know anything about his back story, he was mysterious and that's what made him so cool.

This episode totally ruined his character.

On this episode we got to see the weak old man beneath the helmet, who spent the entire episode getting his butt kicked and disrespected, beaten by other criminals, kicked by Jawas, and a slave to a Tusken Youngling.

THE baddest bounty hunter from the original trilogy is now a pet for a Tusken Raider child.

I don't care about Boba Fett anymore. Lol.

Nice going Disney.

Trash the house down boots. Bernie was funny, but most of Snatch Game was cringe. That Jim Carey was hot trash. Brooklyns mullet is disgusting. Production is lacking. Ru won't even put her name on this one. The title is "Canada's Drag Race" not "RuPauls Drag Race: Canada". Why is it that UK, Down Under and Netherlands have Ru's name on it but not Canada? Also she won't even come 5 minutes across the border to actually appear on this show, but will fly all over the world for other shows. Honestly what is this show? The prize is Shoppers Drug Mart gift cards like honestly.
