Idiotic Movie
29 January 2022
I should have known this would be a pile of crap when one of the simple minded girls asked Taylor how she and Emma (the one Black girl in a group of white girls) could be cousins, even though Taylor had already explained that their moms were sisters. Has she really never heard of interracial relationships, or even adoption for that matter? There are plenty of families where everyone doesn't look the same. Then when Taylor explained that Emma's dad was a musical prodigy, the simple minded girl says "Is he the Black one?" This movie came out in 2019. There was absolutely no excuse for a teenage character to be this ignorant and clueless. It just devolves into more idiocy from there.

It's a cartoon...lighten up folks!

I think this is a cute little cartoon, and I really like it. Some of these reviews are just bizarre. What exactly were you people expecting from a cartoon about talking animals? One person said they "just don't get the point of it." Again...it's a cartoon about talking animals! It doesn't have any deep meaning or significant purpose. Haven't you people ever watched something just because it was silly and fun? With the exception of documentaries and other educational programming, you could ask yourself what's the point of pretty much all shows in existence. The point is simply entertainment. This show just happens to be entertainment that you don't personally like, and that's fine. But acting like you just can't understand why it's even on the air is beyond ridiculous. I've always thought Seinfeld was absolutely pointless and not funny at all, but many of you act like that's the best thing that ever existed. Different strokes for different folks. I say if you're an animal lover, if you've ever wondered what your pets would say if they could talk, if you can enjoy silly humor about the lives of pets, and you don't take yourself too seriously, then give this show a try. If you think every show has to have some deeper, existential, or philosophical meaning in order to be worth watching, then you will be disappointed.

Pleasantly Surprised

I really enjoy this show! I can't believe people are on here complaining that 95% of the cast on this show is Black. So what! 95% of the people on the vast majority of other networks are white. Do you complain about that? Of course not! Yes, this show does count as equal representation because there are so few shows with a majority Black cast. And even fewer where the Black people aren't portrayed as lower class, broke, and always struggling, or loud and obnoxious for no reason (ie, most Tyler Perry shows). I was never a fan of Oprah's talk show, but I applaud her for finally producing shows that portray educated, gainfully employed, cultured, middle to upper middle class Black Americans. We do exist, and it's nice to see people who look and live like us being represented. I also like that the show does not shy away from showing some of the nonsense we have to put up with when being "the only" at certain higher levels in the workplace. I could do without all the god/religion references, but I can understand why that's in there. Lastly, if you don't want to see a show with mostly Black people, why are you even watching OWN original programming? Go watch one of the countless other networks where it's pretty much all white folks all the time, with the occasional minority sidekick.
