FANTASTIC FILM!!!
5 December 2003
I wasn't expecting it to love it as much as I did, but it was fantastic. Not just a girl's film either. Beautifully done, makes you laugh and cry, everyone was fabulous. Some of the greatest life lessons and some damn good lines are in this film, not to mention acting. This movie moved me, and I went right out and bought it. Personally, anyone who doesn't like it, is immature to me. Because women, together, in a film, it's incredible. These women are incredible. The actresses and their characters. Beautifully done.

A FABULOUS MOVIE!
12 October 2003
A glorious chick-flick about the struggles of being a woman and a young girl and surviving life. It's about a young and brilliant girl consumed in a Mexican family where her mother guilts her everyday of her life, and takes out her own pain on her daughter, guilting her daughter about her imperfections.

The daughter remains strong and learns through working with her sister how difficult life can be without an education, and strives to get into a good college, despite the fact that her parents only want her to get married right now and start having babies. And that that is the ONLY thing that matters. Women do not have thoughts or minds, they are only for one thing. Much of the family learns from the youngest daughter what is means to be a real woman, that you are worth so much more than just being a wife and a mother at age eighteen, and it's a beautiful, touching story about real women, not the super-model looking women you see on TV all the time. I highly recommend it. :)

Evita (1996)

This movie was phenomenal!!!
14 July 2003
I cannot imagine ANYONE seeing this movie and not being completely blown away by it. It is one of the most beautifully done pieces of work I've ever seen. I have never seen anyone act and sing and dance their heart out the way Madonna does in this movie, and she deserved an Oscar as much as anyone EVER has. She portrayed Eva amazingly, and they made her look so much like Evita you buy it's her. Madonna stretches her vocal cords incredibly to sing this part, her voice is as gorgeous and strong as ever in this movie, and she sings it fabulously. She dances...well, like Madonna, with talent and grace and style. She acts it perfectly, every facial expression, every tear, every line. After this movie was made, I didn't hear ANYONE ever say Madonna couldn't act ever again.

Taking the movie from the stage to the screen was hard to do, but the directors and producers succeeded in having it still blow your mind, even on screen. The scenes are dashing, the way all the pieces are put together is genius. You love and hate Evita, you sympathize and despise her. You're fascinated by her though, whatever emotional feelings you may have towards her.

But don't think Evita's the only thing incredible about this film. Who knew Antonio Banderas could sing??? I didn't! He sang great for how hard Che's parts were, and for it being his first time singing. He also acted the part of Che fantastically. His chemistry with Madonna is there and he uses it to the fullest to bring out the magic between Che and Evita. He had an even bigger role to fulfill than Madonna in the transition from stage to film. Madonna is in real life much like Evita so this part was like home for her, but Antonio's stretch to become Che was right on key, and you just love him.

And Jonathan Price! Dear God, he was beautiful too, and did again, genius work. He is a stage actor, so of course he played Juan's intensity just right. All three of these actors deserved AT LEAST Golden Globes, and Madonna deserved an Oscar, along with the director who blew your mind with the movie, making you laugh and cry. This movie is in one word...phenomenal.

THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!!! (Spoilers, minor)
7 May 2003
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was amazing. When I saw the first one, I hadn't even HEARD of the X-Men. I didn't know their story, their saga, their legacy, or even that the X-Men was a comic book. The first movie entrapped me and this movie, the part two was nothing less. The special effects were incredible, all of the characters were BEAUTIFULLY portrayed, the storyline was very intense, and it once again left an enormous opening for the next movie many of us are anxiously awaiting for.

Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, James Marsden, and all other cast members did an INCREDIBLE job. Anna Paquin and Halle Berry are the two Oscar winners in this group and play Rogue and Ororo Munroe, AKA Storm. Hugh Jackman had again a very large part and Halle's part was far bigger in this movie than the first.

For Anna Paquin fans, in this movie she takes off the coat that she covers herself with in the first movie, takes off her shyness and begins to live a little bit more. She looks absolutely gorgeous in this movie and begins to evolve into the comic book Rogue who was very sexy and sassy. By the next movie, Rogue will be hot. For people who want Anna's character Rogue and Logan, AKA Wolverine together, this movie does not hold as many precious moments between them as the first film. :( They share an embrace but that's....pretty much it. Rogue's character has a boyfriend in this movie, Iceman, AKA Bobby, and he wants to kiss her badly but she is resistant because she doesn't want to harm him since her mutation is that anyone who touches her skin is seriously injured. But Bobby's pretty tenacious himself. :)

For Logan/Wolverine fans, the movie goes much deeper into what happened to him that caused him to lose his memory and who the people were who did massive experimenting on him, nearly killing him in the process. He does find some answers but those answers of course lead to more questions. For people who want Jean and Logan together, you guys do get something.

For James Marsden fans, oh he is cute! LOL. For Scott/Jean fans, you guys get something too. :)

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan are FABULOUS as always, and the new characters, Night Crawler, Lady Deathstrike, Pyro, and many of the children are given a great part. If you're a fan of any of these actors and or an X-Men fan, you'll be thrilled.

I'm not even a science-fiction fan but this saga, the X-Men has got me so obsessed I think I need a 12-step program! This is incredible, but see the first one before you see this one. They are both luminous. :) Any questions, e-mail me at Para8Dice@aol.com.

In my opinion, the best thing about this movie was Anna Paquin...
15 August 2002
This movie had SO many huge stars I thought it couldn't be that bad...I was wrong. It was just one of those movies that was all together...awful. But Anna Paquin's character Donna stuck out in my mind, not just because I respect Anna as an attract but because of how perfectly she portrayed the character she did which let me say, is different from every character she's played and I loved and noticed her first. I couldn't watch the whole movie, I just taped the parts with her and moved on.

Intimate Portrait: Genie Francis (2001)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown
Interesting but Sad...
2 June 2002
Although this production was well done, it reflected more on the pain in her life rather than the good. Though it discussed Genie's teenage addiction to alcohol and cocaine, this portrait made it sound as though her life on General Hospital was hell rather than one of the best experiences in her life. It also reflected on the disappointments of her life such as starring on DAYS, Bare Essence, her high school life of hell, and other things. It left out quite a bit of her life and continued to compare her to Laura and make Genie seem as though her life is empty other than her husband and her children. It left out things like her incredible friendship with Tony Geary (Luke Spencer), her life in the eighties outside of the public eye, her children, her work now at GH, it left out too much and focused too much on the pain in her life. It's almost depressing for me to watch no matter how much I adore Genie.

Genie and Leigh's chemistry was great!
2 June 2002
This was a good movie, not the best but I enjoyed it very much. Marcy and Genie were incredible together, Marcy so believable as a nut and Genie so desperate to be a good mother. I cannot tell you how many soap stars are in this show. Everywhere I looked I was like, "Ooh, isn't she on..." and I couldn't think of which soap! Leigh and Genie did a fabulous job of being so in love which is ironic to me since they were both working on General Hospital at that time where Laura (Genie) was on trial for murdering Damian (Leigh) by bashing him in the head with a baseball bat and lighting him on fire! These two are fabulous together, loving parents and very loyal and protective.

This movie had a great ending!

Roseanne (1988–2018)
Fabulously funny! Also great since I love GENERAL HOSPITAL!
2 June 2002
Oh my GOD! At the very end when Genie Francis and Tony Geary turned around it was LUKE AND LAURA! Oh my GOD! I was screaming with the rest of the crowd! Roseanne and John Goodman were SO hilarious with Genie and Tony, this was fabulous! And perfect timing since Genie and Tony had just come home to General Hospital and Roseanne and Arnold guest starred on that! Wow! It was a great episode all together but that was such a great surprise at the end! Wow!

General Hospital (1963– )
About General Hospital
20 August 2001
In 1980, Gloria Monty along with other General Hospital writers decided to make a couple out of two actors that had amazing chemistry. Genie Francis and Tony Geary who have become the phenomenal Luke and Laura. Luke and Laura made General Hospital the unforgettable soap opera it is, and still today, Luke and Laura's though painful relationship, keeps viewers going through their fascinating characterization and never ending passion between them.

Alan and Monica, played by Leslie Charleson and Stuart Damon, Frisco and Felicia, played by Jack and Kristina Wagner, Robert and Holly, played by Tristan Rogers and Emma Samms, Sonny and Brenda, played by Maurice Bernard and Vanessa Marcil, and Luke and Laura have showed every other soap opera the definition of a "love story". Though never simple, always intense, always unforgettable.

General Hospital has also shown amazing technique in storylines that are not love stories. Such as Monica Quartermaine's heartwrenching breast cancer storyline in 1994, or the amazing storyline of two little girls dying, yet only one miracle came out of it. I could only be talking about Bobbie Spencer's and Tony Jones's daughter BJ giving her heart to Frisco and Felicia's daughter Maxie, in the last moments to save her life. These stories touched many viewers and there are so many more.

Some of the most precious moments on daytime television have occurred on General Hospital, and the highest rated moment on daytime television was Luke and Laura's wedding in 1981. It was said to be the only wedding ever to rival Princess Diana's. General Hospital has created feelings, storylines, and characters that go beyond words. I thank Genie and Tony who play Luke and Laura for bringing out the fantasy we all have about how love should be. Though they are General Hospital's greatest achievement, I don't think General Hospital's done with them yet! And we know that Luke and Laura are not the only life changing storyline they've come up with! Thank you General Hospital!
