Secret Service (2008)
This was my childhood shooter
This was my first shooter on an ancient pc. It was my favorite game and I've loved shooters ever since! This has aged alright and probably isn't an actual 10 out of 10 but it always will be for me. I booted it up recently and played it through again and man I love this old game. It brought so many memories back to me of when I was a kid and before I found Halo thanks to my cousins and their Xbox and that became my favorite franchise ever. But this game will still always be my first love of games. It's a story of a large scale attack of a fictional country called costa syntava. They're terroists who assult the president and take over Washington DC with plans to blow the entire city to kingdom come. You (agent pierce) have to help take back the city, protect the president and members of congress, and find the real mastermind of this attack. There are quite a few guns and the combat is very fun for it being a really old game. Would recommend for sure! If you like old shooters give it a shot!
A Quiet Place (2018)
A different kind of horror that even I could love.
Horror movies are not my thing at all. But I really enjoyed this movie. It has a well thought out story and good writing. It tells the story of a family in a apocalyptic USA after monsters from an unknown place take over the world. They hunt by sound and force everyone to be nearly silent 24/7 or be killed. It gives the jump-scares without the needless gore attached to it. I won't spoil anything but the main theme is the love of a family and their fight for survival. It's such an immersive and thrilling film that a horror hating man such as myself loved it and you probably will too! And if you like horror films this is a great one to add to your list. It's not nonstop action but thoughtful writing, building up to very suspenseful moments. Tho it has some plot holes and some things that don't add up If you research it out. For most viewers (myself included) there aren't any moments that are stupid that took me out of the moment. I was invested the whole time. So yes if you're thinking of watching it and see some negative reviews, unless you're a unsatisfiable movie critic or someone with no patience at all for good writing to build up the action and suspense you'll probably love the film as I did. Thanks for reading my review! Enjoy the movie!
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
An incredible showcase of the beauty now possible in cinema
This is an absolutely incredible movie with the most stunning visuals of any movie ever. James Cameron has brought us a masterpiece of an environment. This is a landmark film for all vfx in movies to come. While not the strongest movie out there for it's story, it's by no means bad and is one hundred percent worth the 3 hours or so of run time. It's a wonderful experience that I highly recommend to anyone. It is a very good idea to watch the first avatar movie to better understand this sequel, and with its massive success comes confirmation of more sequels and I cannot wait to see more. I hope this helps someone decide to experience them both!
