Is sexualizing characters the only way the cw can keep viewers, or can they maybe give good writing a shot? Seriously, the oversexualized teenagers living with each other in Riverdale with no consequences to their sex life isn't realistic, it's idealizing and it's telling your 16 yr old daughters to have sex all the time, and to move in with each other. It served simply as a segway for this show, so that a character known for her wholesomeness and detective skills can be accepted as just another oversexualized version of a this cultural icon. Sorry, but the only thing this version has in common with Nancy Drew is the name. Change the name and nobody would make a connection to the Nancy Drew canon.
Hey CW, watch Sherlock from the BBC and see how much sex was necessary for their success... never mind, it wasn't, they relied on good writing. I know they probably won't change this methodology since their writing will probably never be good enough to sell without sex.
Like I said in the title, sex sells.
