Coming from a family of Cuban immigrants this story really hit home for me. I'm sure anyone with immigrant grandparents (particularly those who fled from their country) can relate to their grandparents having insecurities about their new country and assimilation. The song "Dos Orgullitas" does that seem more justice than I think anyone ever has, and it makes me cry every time I listen to it. While I will admit the movie has some passing issues, I really do believe it would be a 10/10 for me, if only it has ended a couple seconds prior so as to not complete undo some of the catharsis (iykyk). But even with that I still think its a great movie that does so many things right.

Probably my favorite movie of all time. The premise was unique when it first came out. The characters are relatable and it actually explores a complex theme of conflicted familial relationships for a kids movie. I have watched this movie multiple times, and it's enjoyable every time. While I admit some of my love for this movie probably comes from childhood nostalgia and a life-long love of dragons, I think it is a movie that still holds up as a solid watch even as an adult. I would recommend this movie for anyone that wants to bond with their children without being bored. 10/10 please watch this.
