Annoying Show with No Likeable characters
29 September 2023
I was not drawn in by the first episode and stopped after just two thankfully i didn't waste my time watching a full season or more.

There are no likeable characters, too many stupid one liners and everyone cursing and back-stabbing each other constantly. I do not care for the subject matter or care what happens to any of the actors in it. Another strange thing is the camera seems to zoom in and out and shake a lot like its got an amateur handheld camera feel about it which is irritating and makes the cinematography seem poor. Probably the worst tv show that has ever been recommended to me and I can't believe how highly rated it is on here. Deserves a very low rating.

Cypher crossed with The Truman Show
2 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Very clever show however i think its overrated I mean its not the best tv show ever or of 2022. I don't think its better than either of the two movies its reminds me of either. Having said that I have not seen this idea in a TV show and the acting is believeable. The only major plot holes I can see is why would staff agree to have this severance procedure done and of course why no one guards the control room or maybe only one person does - what I think will happen next season is that we find out none of them agreed it was just a cover up that they think they agreed to undergo the procedure. I see no rewatchability in this show maybe the.cinematography and lack of action in a few episodes is the reason although its intentional to make it looks bland just like they did in Cypher. I can't see it improving in the next season but im sure the production costs were very low so they can drag it out as long as they want and i probably will watch Season 2!

Most Overrated TV Show Ever?
26 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I had to stop after 4 episodes of the first season. What started as an intriguing and original idea quickly developed into a boring and unrealistic drama. I checked the reviews after a friend highly recommended this to me and saw many people said do not watch after Season 1. I'm so glad I did not continue with this nonsense. This might have worked as a movie but dragging it out into 5 Seasons is totally ridiculous. One of the worst tv shows I have tried to watch in a long time. The father and son combination the idea of both of them being picked and working as part of this team of criminals that are not supposed to even know each others names I mean what a stupid idea that is and why would the Professor even recruit both of them. So many things make no sense it is not even worth thinking about.

The Sadness (2021)

Extreme Zombie Movie
29 April 2022
This movie is the most gory I have seen with a few disturbing scenes and sadistic actions. Not the best of these gory movies I've seen though still gripping and different. It seemed to end too quickly and its a little short being less then 1hr 40 mins is not really long enough for a good movie.

Much prefer The Raid movies also extremely violent but more exciting and less gory and depraved. I think this could have been better a little disappointed.

Too Boring & Annoying to Watch
14 December 2021
Maybe slightly harsh review as normally I can watch anything to the end. I gave up after about 40 mins and wanted to stop multiple times before that. Worst movie I have seen in years of any category. Boring uninteresting characters could not care less what happens to them.

Boring Vampire Movie
13 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Very little happens boy meets girl finds out she is a vampire & tries to bring her back to humanity. The ending is decent apart from how the gang forgot the sun was nearly coming up. It looks good too however it is extremely boring feels like nothing really happens stuck with it to the end very disappointing not sure how this became a cult classic.

Very Interesting Weird Show
17 June 2021
The opening credits and how its set in Germany reminds me of Dark which is one of my favourite TV shows of all time. It is also a little bit like Fringe. However there is no time travel or alternative universes in this yet. But I can see how i like it based on these two TV shows; there is a lot going on and you want to keep watching to see what happens. Acting may be a little mechanical and not as much depth to some characters that I would like but it looks good and is an interesting weird idea. I hope they do more Seasons and hope it maintains its good level.

8/10 first 5 episodes, 4/10 last 5 episodes - Terrible Ending
4 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I read the reviews before I started and knew there was a risk this would get boring after the half way mark and I also read the ending was poor. However I wanted to take the risk and was very impressed up until the Bent Neck Lady was explained. There were some scary moments in the next episode or two but then it just became a boring family drama - Not a Horror Story at all from this point!! Very disappointed having really got into it and enjoyed the first 5 episodes then to be bored silly watching the last few episodes and the pretentious predictable acting and weak finish. You cannot turn a horror story into a drama halfway through it is just madness I have no idea what they were thinking here. Very forgettable and over-rated show. If you want to watch a solid horror TV show watch Stephen Kings Castlerock at least here you cannot predict what will happen and its definitely horror all the way through without the drama and bs taking over like with this.

Breaking Bad Wannabe - Lacks depth & Integrity
8 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe this was strongly recommended to me. It is awful. The main character Jason Bateman is just annoying to listen to and to look at. This is like Breaking Bad in a mad rush, instead of building up the story and adding depth to characters they have crammed about half a season into the first episode and a lot happens in the 2nd episode too. Most of what happens is implausible and boring and the acting feels forced. Will have to stop at the end of 2nd episode, just do not care what will happen to any of the characters. Worst TV show I've watched in a very long time. If you like Mafia themed shows stick to The Sopranos or Breaking Bad and avoid this garbage!

Mind Blowing Mystery Sci Fi
8 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Not often is there a TV show you know you will watch again but this is most definitely one of those. It is hard to find anything wrong with the story, the beautiful cinematography & atmospheric soundtrack & the depth of character of nearly all the cast. The only thing you could find fault with is some of the paradoxes but they explain them all so well. This is like a much better version of Twelve Monkeys mixed with Twin Peaks and maybe the X-Files too. Because of the 80's feel in part of the series you could say there is a feel of Stranger Things which by the way I think was highly overrated and unoriginal. I did not listen to the dubbed English version as I wanted to hear the real actors and I would imagine it sounds better in German anyway as it adds to the atmosphere since its set in Germany. Best Foreign language TV series I've ever watched and one of the best TV shows I've ever seen too which really took me by surprise just how good this is. Hopefully Season 2 will not get too far fetched as with Twelve Monkeys Season 2/3. This show makes you think and looks amazing without needing to use much special effects just great clever storytelling. Watch it you won't regret it!

Solid Remake - Did Not Disappoint - 7.5 - 8/10
18 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I think the original mini-series is underrated but considering this remake is bringing IT to the big screen and this is only the first chapter it really holds its own whether you have read the book or not and seen the original TV mini-series or not. The original is primarily narrated by Mike so it is strange that now Ben is the one who knows the towns dark history. However as the original is all flash backs and mixing childhood and adulthood that narration style would not work here. Pennywise is scary but I was disappointed there was no school shower scene as I thought that was one of the scariest scenes from the original. Special effects in the original were not great sometimes but here everything looks sharp. I did not understand how when the Losers Club are hunting down Pennywise they gain access to the drains and sewage system through the house on Neibolt Street unlike through the Barrens in the original. This is the only part of Chapter 1 that I did not think was as scary or well executed as before and there was a big change with how Beverly faces down Pennywise she was the best shot in the original but they took that whole narrative away here. Also they make no reference to the dead-lights verbally anyway which is quite strange considering that was a big part of the original and event though Beverly does get exposed to them this time Pennywise never speaks of his dead-lights. It may sound like I'm finding things wrong with IT but there were other changes to the story-line that I was not expecting which work pretty well and potentially if Chapter 2 is at least as good as Chapter 1 then this could be better than the original. Very clever how its released 27 years after the mini-series and how Chapter 2 will be in the present day again 27 years ahead. I also think if you have not watched the mini series then this would be scarier and you would not be anticipating what Pennywise will say or do.

Boring and Despressing Movie
29 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Worst movie I've seen for quite some time wanted to switch it off after 20-30 mins but the IMDb rating was high so said I'd give it a chance and I almost always finish what I start. The acting is the only good thing but the whole story seems to happen for no reason, one minute they are getting married, the next they move into some warehouse then they move up North. Along the way she has a stillborn baby and they come off drugs and go back on them again and she is selling herself for more drug money even after they get married... Casper is always there for a dig out too. The whole drug addict movie thing has been done before and just because Heath Ledger is in it does not make it brilliant at all. Painful to watch and very predictable and boring.

Unoriginal but Captivating Horror Story
11 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
There is a reason this is unoriginal and its because the Duffer brothers are paying homage to Stephen Kings IT since they were not allowed be a part of the big screen remake for next year. IT was one of my favourite childhood horror mini series although seems more like a long movie in reality. I knew it seemed so familiar before reading an article about the remake of the Stephen King Classic. From the outset the geeky kids who are best friends, the school bullies, the bicycles; I was almost thinking one of them would should out " Hi ho silver away!" when riding at speed. Of course this is a line from The Lone Ranger but its not what I associate the expression with. The lair where Winona Ryders son is discovered and how he is disconnected is almost exactly the same as the lair in IT. The alien or creature is very similar to the creatures in Stephen Kings Dreamcatcher especially when the mouth or head is open. The idea of the worm and how it gets into the water supply at the very end is identical to the goal of the creatures in Dreamcatcher. The special powers of Eleven are pretty much the same as the special powers of Duddits in Dreamcatcher who also gets weaker and is dying slowly during the movie. I was anticipating Eleven would transform into another creature to tackle and defeat the creature here that didn't quite happen but she was able to destroy it and herself together again the same result as what happens in the end of Dreamcatcher. Also in the first half of this scene when the kids are using the slingshot to fire stones at the creature this is exactly what the kids do in IT instead they are firing pieces of silver at Pennywise. I had to laugh at the morgue scene with the fake body again an exact copy of the idea from a classic Horror movie of the late 80's called Society. I think the mini series is very well done but clearly has no original ideas and just shows how underestimated and under appreciated Stephens Kings IT & Dreamcatcher are. You could say there are elements of The Goonies & ET in here too as well as The Species series of movies but mainly its IT & Dreamcatcher combined. The only new element in the series is "The Upside Down" which seems very like what happens in Insidious. I'm not complaining that its crap because its not original and its impossible nowadays to be original anyway but it seems most people I've talked to about this series either have never heard of IT or have forgotten most of that series and certainly never watched Dreamcatcher so they think this is original and think it deserves more credit than it actually does. Having said that the fact that the directors would try to emulate Stephen King and are excited about the big screen remake of IT tell us that they wanted to recreate what was done before and try to capture the atmosphere of a Stephen King mini series and I respect that being a big fan myself of his work. A lot of people say his books do not translate well into TV or movies which may explain why the rating for IT/Dreamcatcher are so much lower than Stranger Things however for me this show only makes me want to re-watch the classics and reminds how much better the older movies with original ideas were. Most of the acting is good and characters are likable. There are some very predictable scenes for example the fight over the girl near the cinema complex and how you know straight away what the Christmas present is before the box is opened. Also you knew Barbs was going to cut herself somehow at the pool party. Its very nostalgic and worth a look and I'm glad I watched it as its looks sharp and authentic.

Awful Horror Movie - Not Scary either
10 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
One of the worst horror movies I've ever seen and actually it probably is the worst horror movie I have ever seen! I was very close to turning it off a couple of times which I never do so I forced myself to keep watching. Thankfully it is not too long. I knew I would not like this from the start based on the filming style which was Blair Witch style with the annoying shaking camera. However I could not believe how bad this was. Nothing is clear on the indoor house scenes and the outdoor scenes with the Clown guy seem totally pointless. The very outset of the movie does show promise for originality but it just goes nowhere and the acting is very poor also. So bad its almost untrue so don't waste your time!
