Honest Thief (2020)
I love Boston
I enjoyed this film. I rented it to be entertained. I did not rent this film to pick it apart or call it garbage as someone else did.
I got to enjoy the setting and the story.
Hinterland: Devil's Bridge (2013)
Excellent Piece
Though the heavy accent was very difficult for my ear, the twists and turns in this episode always came as a surprise. Well written and portrayed. I will make it a point to watch more of these while wearing headphones.
The Outpost (2019)
Pretty Standard War flick.
The best thing I saw in this story was how people who didn't get along, even hated each other, will still work as a team when necessary. The fast paced action reminded me of western movies. Disappointed.
The Last Full Measure (2019)
Never Forget
As a Vietnam era veteran this film really hits home. The author seems to understand what it was like. Wow! I wasn't all that successful in holding back the tears.
The essence of the film tells me somebody understands. This story is so well told.

Amazing film!
A unique presentation of a little known historical event. An awesome presentation style. I stumbled upon this film at a time when the same issues are in the news today.
Three in the Attic (1968)
Home Sweet Home
I had to give this a high rating. I ran the 16mm theater while stationed at Cape Romanzof Alaska. We were in the bottom of a volcano on the Bering Sea. My previous duty assignment was at North Truro AFS on Cape Cod. The scenes showing Provincetown, MA. made me feel so great! Not quite like being home again, but it sure was nice to see.

Kill the Messenger (2014)
True story
Excellent presentation. Took me several starts and stops to watch the film. The sight of and the sound of Ronald ray-gun is too much for me to put up with.
The story is a lesson in life.
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
It was 1968
As I understand, this film was released for Cinerama. Cinerama was a 180 degree "wrap- around" screen. This film is primarily a visual experience. I feel that the only meaningful dialog in the film was between HAL9000 and the Kir Dulea character. We watched in awe because we had never seen anything like this! I was running the 16mm movie theater at Cape Romanzof, Alaska when all of us GI's saw this amazing film. Many of the troops argued about its' meaning for days after having seen it.
ABC television "borrowed" some of the effects used in the film to introduce their evening news broadcasts. What really surprises me is that elements of this film are used in advertising today. I'm in my mid 60's and remember the film well, but how many younger people understand these ads? HAL's birthday is still celebrated.
A visual experience if there ever was one. One of those films that one never forgets.
To Catch a Thief (1955)
What Irony
In my opinion how could anyone not love the duo of Cary Grant and Grace Kelly? But is it not ironic that Princess Grace lost her life on a road very similar to the one in the chase scene and in roughly the same part of the world? I was stationed on a mountain top in Italy when she died. The road to our mountain top was much more difficult to navigate than the one in the film. I'm sure the same can be said of the road where Princess Grace was killed. She was always so beautiful and elegant!!!
I was impressed with the helicopter shots. I think they did amazingly well with the equipment that was available in 1954. Didn't even catch sight of a rotor blade shadow. Great job!
What a delightful film!!
