Amazing job
23 December 2021
From reading other reviews, I think some people need to adjust their expectations. Matrix 1 was groundbreaking, so much so that matrix 2 and 3 were already disappointments to many fans.

You can't have every movie installment be groundbreaking in the same way guys.

I thoroughly loved this sequel. It continues the story from the first 3 movies and gives closure in a way.

It's not a 10 like the first movie, but a solid 8 in my book given the contraints.

The Morning Show: Lonely at the Top (2019)

Thought provoking
14 December 2019
As a viewer, at first I didn't like the fact that the episode focused entirely on the the past, without moving the plot forward whatsoever, but holy crap was this a great episode.

  • Great acting.
  • Great story line that covers a difficult topic in a (chillingly) realistic way.
  • Great characters that are neither perfectly virtuous nor evil. You empathize with all the characters, even the "bad" ones.
  • Thought provoking, both while watching and after watching. You know the series is doing something right when you're still digesting the intricacies of the episode days later. I was particularly really impressed by how much this episode had to show about each character, and how those things change the way you saw them until then.

I'm now hooked and will look forward to watching the rest of the show.

Daredevil: A New Napkin (2018)

Absolutely amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
This whole season was impressive. The plot progression was not predictable, and just kept building up until the last moment. I also loved the way they pulled off a comic book feel with a non-animated show. Fisk especially was fascinating to watch. The show went deep with almost every character, by building a complicated background and nuanced personality that's almost relatable. Even for the vilains.

There were a few minor things that I thought broke the perfection of the show, such as the way daredevil stops getting bruises as the season goes forward, even despite almost dying from being punched in the face by Dex. In the first part of the season I actually liked the way you could track the bruises and how they would heal as time went by, so I assume this was a deliberate choice from the producers.

Also, in one scene Dex showed major OCD traits, but that never came up again. Perhaps because he was keeping himself within an organized structure and then broke out of it and never went back, but if that's what they were trying to show, then OCD was the wrong thing to portray. Having OCD is a major part of one's personality. It's not something you can choose to have just to remain structured.

Still though. This season was amazing.
