WOW LOL

Nothing short of mesmerizing. Jaw-dropping animation. Awesome sound track. Story propels and weaves beautifully between all characters.

Not a false note IMHO.

A perfect example of the Shakespearean complex and relevance..
23 April 2005
Being an actor, thus not only interested in but bewitched by Shakespeare and his genius, this movie is a wonderful paper on how his text and drama applies to all in all times. Pacino with friends and colleagues Bulleit and Berry (I think) try to digest the soul of the words and make them digestible to the everyday Joe. It's a riveting tale of the grand emotions that we all possess, but rarely express in this time and age and I deeply thank Pacino and his magnificent crew for taking us on this journey. Keep an eye out for the beggar who - in an unprecedented and most sincere way - tells us how Shakespeare lets us in on the secret how life is supposed to be lived and then walks off-camera and asks a businessman for a penny. 10 out of 10. And thank you.

Positively surprised!!

Well, for starters, this actually was THE most elegant Clausen film to this date.

The man's always got a sense for characters with a slice of humor to them, but I think that he in this movie adds a dimension unparrallel to anything he's made earlier. His work has - in very black n' white words - been accepted by the broad but not that critical audience, and we've always appreciated his sense of humor and his ability to mix it with human problems and a distinct way of letting the audience know what he needs to say.

In "Villa Paranoia, however, for the first time, he surprises with an unseen wisdom and a respect for the minorities. Not only the ethnic but also the normal people you tend to forget. Set in Jutland - in 'the country' - it deals with the everlasting issue of lack of love, but in a close and at times brutal way that keeps you looking and keeps you focused. And on top of that, he himself manages to play a b******d! A true b*****d, who wants the right thing but has no clue how to get there, and people therefore suffer. Bitterly.

I'd have to say it's one of the best movies I've seen this year and I'm greatly anticipating his next.

Groundshaking!

This movie is a must-see.

Not because it tells a completely new story, but because the director toys with the medium as was it his creation. And two outstanding acting performances lifts the tension and the nerve of the movie to a never-seen-before level. Just sit back in awe during the first 10 minutes of "dogma"-camera work! Apart from that, the sheer violence of the movie's physics and mental attack on the viewer's mind is something I've never seen before.

The most important movie last year.

What a waste of time
29 March 2004
I was about to write "most disappointing movie of 2001", but then realized, that I didn't even expect anything of it except for the action sequences - and they didn't let me down that much - so how could I be discouraged?

The love story is THE most corny I have ever seen, and the characters are patriotic brainwashees.

Only good thing is my laughing my a** off, when she says: "I love you, and I'll have your baby, only I love him more, and you have to accept that in spite of my loving you forever while he'll always be my true love.." *roll eyes*

Better off watching Jackass..

Great everyday drama
20 September 2002
His best work so far, Carsten Myllerup proves himself worthy of the feature length movie with this everyday drama depicting an old couple and their troubles as they move from their safe comfort of their home in the country to the suburbs.
