Be aware that this slow moving series only get going half through the final episode! There is at least one more series to come. So my advice is, to wait until the final series comes out, and then binge watch.

My second piece of advice is to make good use of Fast Forward to skip the irrelevant religious, personal stuff.

This could on for three or more series. I hope that unlike the LOST series, a satisfactory denouement has been worked out IN ADVANCE.

Mystery is piled upon impossible mystery. As the mysteries are compounded the likelihood of a satisfactory denouement diminishes.

However, it is quite engaging and I will continue watching.

I hope that it does not go on for too many years and has a good ending.

The pacing of season does vary at times but overall Season one is very good. However, if I knew that episode 8 ends on a cliffhanger I would have delayed watching this series until S2 comes out.

You may find that watch S1 alone is a frustrating viewing experience!

I made the same mistake with "Raised by wolves". I had to watch season one again because the gap between S1 & S2 was too long. (S2 of Raised .. also ends on a cliffhanger .... Damn!).

So I'll wait until S2 of Lazarus Project comes out .... then .... I'll find out (through research) if THAT ends on a cliffhanger ... and then wait until S3 or the final series comes out.

I hope it doesn't go the way of other good SciFi series such a HUMANS. S3 ended on a cliffhanger in 2018.

This is nothing like any of its predecessors and it does not deserve to be included in any 'Purge Collection' of movies.

It's a watchable movie as there's plenty of action, however, most of the action takes place outside of the context of The Purge. This is much more of a right-wing extremist insurrection movie.

The last few minutes leave room for a follow-up 'insurrection' movie.

I hope the word purge is not included in its title.

This series fizzles out with absolutely no conclusion.

A second series must have been planned and was shelved.

The series was shown out of running order on Forces TV but in the proper running order on the Horror Channel.

There is very little reference to previous episodes so almost every episode can be viewed as a standalone episode.

My Recommendation - Dip in and out of the series without worrying about missing an episode or getting through to the end.

Series One deserves 6 Stars ****** Series Two deserves 4 Stars ****

Series two was fairly okay up to episode 3.

Episodes 4 & 5 were relatively poor with far too much political chicanery The source of the threat was too nebulous.

Two thirds of the way through episode 6, it felt like at least one more full episode would be required for a satisfactory denouement. The end was very sloppily plotted and condensed. The outcome was unbelievable and unsatisfactory.

Many of the poor reviews here, were posted before the final episode aired.

That frequently makes for an unreliable review.

I recorded all 4 episodes and watched them over two evenings. (It's easier to follow the characters that way). I normally make a decision as to whether to continue viewing a 4-5 episode show by mid episode 2. In this case I chose to stick with it to the end ..... and I'm glad I did!

It has an unpredictable outcome that on reflection, I should have seen coming. Watch carefully - there are clues as well as red herrings.

I watched every episode of the two series for a second time. I certainly would not have done so, if I didn't enjoy them the first time around.

So, the overall rating is between 5 and 6 which is about correct.

HOWEVER, the average rating of those who chose to WRITE a review is between 1 and 2. Most of these reviewers were harking back to the old series and trying to make a direct comparison based on sentimental childhood memories. This is an unfair comparison.

The old b/w series had many rubbishy episodes, but we accepted them at the time. The new series borrowed the title/format/style of the old series, but that's about it. You should watch the new series as a stand-alone series.

I distrust people who give one star reviews as much as those who give ten star reviews. The general public and IMDB staff should also do so.

If daftness of her climbing uphill and up stream in order to save herself on the mountain haven't put you off watching this movie to the end, make sure to let credits run. You don't want miss day five.

I fast forwarded through 80% of this movie. The movie could be edited down to 30 - 35 minutes without missing a thing.

I rate it .... 5 Stars for 20% of the movie - Good action! 2 Stars for the remainder.
