Cinderella (2000)
Possibly the BEST Cinderella EVER!
I have an admitted soft spot for Cinderella, but always had issue with the complete simpy victim she let herself be. In this case, she's far less so---I very much like how she's FAR more interested in saving her father than her own future happiness.
I loved the King Lear aspects and found this to be a delightful visual treat
Waterloo Bridge (1940)
Woefully Inaccurate
Possible Spoiler
As a previous poster commented, the idea that Vivien Leigh's Myra (or her friend for that matter) would need to turn to prostitution to eat is absurd--not only was this especially true during wartime---but it should be remembered, both Myra and her friend were trained dancers. In fact Violet (I think) had originally been a chorus girl.
I also didn't care for the 1930's fashions in 1915, nor did I think Taylor and Leigh had particularly strong chemistry. Still, I like Vivien Leigh--but one's time would be better served watching "That Hamilton Woman" to see her talents shine.
