this is an excellent film. do not recall seeing something like this ever before. It is a dark film. There is no colour in the film, except for specific parts, such as girls eyes, red for blood and car headlights, etc. This adds a wonderfully dark feel, almost in a comical way. The film is very much similar to the format of a comic or computer game. The special effects aree reminiscent ofexplosions in action games, even better, and more fluid. The acting is very suitable, andthe main guy, has a very eery tough guy look. Definitely perfect for the part. He is covered with scars on his face, and is large in size. Yet he seems to have a soft nice side. But, not want to mess with.

The are some great female performances. Some thin, tough girls that add a beautiful touch to the film. They are not to be messed with. There is great use of leather in the film, which adds to this slick and eery look. The scenes, include warehouses and dark alley ways with minimal light. This almost feels to an area for a street fight, which is exactly what this film is. Although portrayed in a much less brutal, common fashion.

i believe there is a computer game called sin city. It is probably like a street fight , type game. Probably very good, given the outcome of this film.

This can be highly recommended, for its originality and quality visuals and special effects. The story is also very exciting and full of depth and character. Watching it several times, will likely open up new layers of the film, to the way the light moves in the background, to the sound of gun fire.

this is a very good film. they do not make thrillers like this nowadays. it was made in 1984, and has some wonderful acting, great moments of suspense, and generally and exciting story, that keeps you hooked on your seat, till the end.

Its a bit of a strange film. it is dark in nature.But there is a definite quality about it. It is nicely filmed in a slow manner. There is good use of music to add tension.

It shows that you don't need to have large mult million pound budgets to make a good film. Simple things are used, with good script and good actors. And the result is something very good and most of all exciting.

The coen brothers, have a talent which shows clearly in this film. A bit like fargo, which was also very dark but very good.

this is a very high quality thriller with an excellent cast. morgan freeman is very good as are brad pitt, kevin spacey and other members of the cast. I watched this on DVD, with dolby digital ex and dts 6.1 surround sound. The quality of the sound is very good and very cinema like. The surround sound is excellent, and gives you a feel of the atmosphere and its surroundings. One hears the bells as the train goes by, the sound of traffic and the other many subtle sounds that give the film its ambiance. Its a difficult film to understand at first, and may require more than one viewing to fully grasp. There is a wonderful chemistry between morgan and brad, the likes of which i have not seen in a thriller since.

This is a very good DVD to own.

this is a nice, light-hearted fun comedy. it is slightly different to other comedies, in that the story is original. the concept is a bit weird, but interesting and different.

reese witherspoon is very good in the film. she portrays a niceness and has a touching sensitivity which comes across nicely. there is a nice chemistry between the male and female lead characters. it is believable and interestingly fun.

the apartment where some of the conversations between the two main characters takes place, is very suitable. there is a nice view out of the window and the sofas and arrangements of furniture, give a cosy and warm feel.

i very much liked the ending of the film. A bit like a fairytale where the end fits the puzzle.

the film improves as you watch it, and i appreciated it more, once the film was over.

i think this is a very good film. it is very well made and is very spooky and eerie. I think the actors gel well together, and each play they roles extremely convincingly and real. I think that it feels very real, is a very strong plus. The characters are very lifelike and portray emotion, and they're likes and dislikes to great resonance. each of the characters have their own distinct subtleties and characteristics.

the main female character, played by jennifer connelly is really good. She shines in the film, with radiance, inner strength and honesty. She seems to be trying to do the wright thing in an environment that is mysterious and crumbling. I think Jennifer Connelly feels just right for the film.

The story of the film is quite complex, and may require more than one viewing to fully grasp. However, the special effects and set designs are of the highest standards. The director and other members of the crew have done an amazing job of creating jennifer's world. But still manage to maintain a strong sense of reality.

The sound effects are also very good. Really adding to the suspense and emotions of the film as it unfolds.

This is a very good suspense thriller/horror film. I have not seen one like this before. Its quite original.

unfortunately, the sequel does not have the magic of the first one. the first one was very very good. partly because anthony hopkins was very good and his relationship with zorro was excellent, just perfect.

however, this one does not feel the same. it is entertaining though, with nice moments of humour. the son of zorro is very good, and adds a lot to the picture. he increases the sparkle of the film.

the bad guys in this film, are not as good as the first one. they are not as menacing or ruthless. the film also feels a bit on the small side in comparison with first one,. although it is 2 hours long.

catherine zeta jone and antonio banderas are good nevertheless. they look and feel older. which adds to the believability of them having a son. still playful, but on a more grown up scale. i.e at dinner, instead of in the horse yard.

there is a lot of quality to this film. i have not seen a recent film made so well in a long time. There is a lot of quality to the acting, directing and presentation of the film.

it is a bit of an odd film. but, i think if you were to watch it a couple of times, it would be understandable.

The leading male actor is very good. he acted in the pianist, and does an excellent job of portraying the character.

i liked the scenes in the hospital/mental asylum. They too, were very well orchestrated. I found it interesting to watch the other mentally ill patients. They behaved realistically, i think.

i think this is a very nice film. There is a wonderful connection between the two main actors/actresses. They are both good looking, and are very good at acting. There is a good use of sound throughout the film, to highlight scenes. There is also great use of a soundtrack which the two leading people play and dance to. It works very well and is one of those good moments in film history.

There are great locations. There is a great beach house at the start of the film overlooking sea. Then the directors found a wonderful little town with lot of character, to play the remaining scenes of the film.

Overall, this is an excellent Hollywood film, from start to finish.

It is very good entertainment.

This is a very frightening film - intensely so. It's like being on the fastest roller coaster. It will send you shivering in fear, and have anxiety go up and down your body.

This is not a horror film for entertainment. And is thus, disappointing. The story is weird, as expected, but not very clear. Maybe you have to watch it for a second time to fully appreciate.

However, the is a film not for the masses and it is a bit irresponsible to produce such a film. There are references to mental illness and watching it may feel like a psychotic episode of schizophrenia. It's not pleasant and you have to be a little insane to watch this film.

On the positives, it is a very well made film, with good use of sound and special effects, and good acting. The film makers reach boundaries of human senses.

But, this film will have audiences running and screaming out of theaters. It will be uncomfortable for the vast majority of people.

If you want to watch an entertaining horror film, go see Dracula, or alien instead.

As a film one may give it an 8 out of 10. But as an entertainment or experience, possibly 3 or 4 ot of 10.

This is a fantastic film, and one that still sets the benchmark for action type blockbusters.

The special effect are wonderful, even by todays standards. It was probably this film that made Arnold Schwarzenegger infamous.

This film has a very interesting and original plot. It contains everything from sadness and despair to romance and happiness. It is superior to the first terminator, and takes the good points from that film and supersedes it. I think this film exceeded most people's expectation.

The explosions are excellent and in one scene an entire office block is blown up.

Although the terminator has few lines, his character clearly evolves. The film is a little complicated to grasp, and is probably best understood and appreciated the second time one watches it.

The concept of the film has greater relevance in todays world, because computers play a greater part in our lives. It may show us where not to go in the future.

this is a very funny film. very original concept and michael keaton does a wonderful job of portraying himself in the slight different clones.

i was very surprised with this film. it was engaging from the start and always something exciting happening.

the relationship between michael keaton and andi mcdowell is very nice. At the start of the film, its a very dysfunctional household, both husband and wife not really seeing eye to eye or on same wavelength. Towards the end, everything works out beautifully, and makes a great ending to film.

i would highly recommend this film for anyone. the comedy is easy for people to understand and also very witty. one of the funniest comedies.

this is an excellent piece of film making. it will do to films what star wars and superman did. It is revolutionary in the way it uses special effects.

Spiderman flies faster than ever, and you cannot tell which is computer generated. It is unlike anything ever seen before. The other special effects are amazing. They are so fluid and detailed, that they just blend into the scene.

Some of the scenes are brilliantly thought out and grip you to the edge of your seat.

aside from the visuals and sound, its an excellent film for the family. Its both humorous, serious and romantic. All wonderfully blended in to create a tru blockbuster.

This version is superior to the first in all aspects and sets the landmark for future movies. Hollywood has created a most incredible world and presents in a glorious way.

I felt very privileged to experience the genius of the film. Great way to spend two hours, or even better to have on DVD.

this is a good funny film. And the concept is very original (which is a rareity these days).

the first half hour is excellent. i generally find with most films the beginings are a little bit slow and lack invention. but, shallow hal immediately draws you into the film. the directors did an excellent job with the beginning, choice of music and visuals really set the tone for this very hollywood type movie.

however, the film becmoes lightweight and almost seem to become a vey ordinary film. which is a shame, considering the beginning could have led to something very special. the style of the film changed from something funny and original to something ordinary, which was disappointing.

its clearly apparent that the directors are very talented but one feels they could have done mroe with this film, to take it to the next level. as often said in films, it could have been a classic. However, it is still a funny and original film which deserves viewing.

this films is quite revoluitionary. it has some of the best visuals ever seen on film.

they have the most extraordinary sets. the creation of the spacecrafts and interior is quite simply a work of art. from the space suits to the electronics to the visuals in space, it is as good as it could be.

the way the astronauts move around in their spacecraft has never been done before. and how they managed to do that in the late sixties is beyond belief. they way the walk vertically, and in all different angles is excellent.

this is without doubt one of the best looking films ever.

the story howver, can be confusing, boring and long winded but this is not how the film is intended to be viewed.

it is a work of art, like the best looking painting you ever saw. and as such is as good as it gets.

and the film has stood the test if time. it hasn't aged at all and is unlikely to in the future. it sets the standard for sci-fi films and motion picture in general.

this film has the potential of being a pyscho or the shining or maybe therabouts but never gets there. it pushes boundaries in filmaking but the film itself is flawed.

there are excellent performances from mel gibson and the two children. one of the finest interaction of family characters ever. all the other characters are very believable and add depth to the film.

i saw this movie on dvd and its presented to the highest standards. surround sound is made full use of with the rears given a good workout at times. there is a very widesoundstage and u really feel a part of the scenery. also picture is very good, colours are very vibrant.

it is filmed in a similar style to sixth sense or what lies beneath and works very well. its often slow but controlled and u really get a sense of the characters emotions - fears, anxieties etc. however, its too slow at times and u just want more to happen. it almost tries to get the most out of a very thin script.

the film is thoroughly gripping and u are left glued to your seat, at least for the first half an hour but without result. nothing much actually happens until the last few minutes and you are left wanting more.

secondly the film is too short althougth feels quite long due to slow scenes.

however, aspects of the film are quite revolutionary and will likely be adopted by other filmakers.

overall this is a good film, it will scare u but it could have been much more.

this is a nice thriller. lots of suspense. u'll be hooked till the end.

after seeing it a second time, it loses its first time appeal. as with lots of thrillers (sixth sense, unbreakable) once u've seen it thats pretty much it. not one for purchasing, but u'll be thrilled for the 90 odd minutes.

the characters in this film are very real and lifelike, with good performances alround. the whole film is believeable in some respects, not some geroge lucas/spielberg fantasy. this is definitely a plus point.

overall, the excellent plot, nice sound effects and good acting make this a gripping cinematic experience. highly recommended

this is a nice film, pleasently suprised. far better than rating suggests.

although the basic idea of good vs evil, one counrty vs another has been demonstrated time and tuime again (e.g. bond films) the twists in this film certainly set it apart. its wonderful entertainment -probably great chick flick to. nice acting - especially vice president, gerneal and president himself.

the film starts out rather strange, lots of things going on - not clear how the film will go. however, everything unfolds very well, very clearly and at the right time. the presidential discussions are very lifelike and beliveable.

the concept of this film (won't be revealed here) is very good, haven't seen anything quite like it. the twists are excellent, u think u know whats going on and ofocurse it turns your wrong or something unaccepted happens. the film is gripping, u want to know whats around the corner. time really flies.

the action scenes are rather good too, sure not up there with james bond, but decent nevetherless. the sound is good too, perfect foir the type of film. the stunts are excellent - gerat martial arts action as well and guns and missiles.

the best thing though, is how the good guys dont get what they want. quite simply all hell breaks loose. finally, a film where the bad guys cause serious permanent havoc.

this film has everything. its an all in one for sure. this is every bit a blockbuster as a james bond or idependece day. great entertainment on a saturday with mates, and can be watched over and over agin

the film version of possessed is really good. the acting is of the highest standards - timothy dalton as good as ever. the plot itself is based on a true story of a boy being possessed by a devil in 1950s. if the film is not an exaggeration of the incident then it is of great concern to all those who believe in faith and god. it definitely made me question lots of things - god ,religion, evil, heaven and hell etc. u'll be thinking for days after - one of those films that may leave a lasting impression.

the film is expertly made, beaustiful cast, wonderful sound - great surround sound. great showcase for relatively inexpensive filmmaking. shows that u don't need millions to produce a good motion picture.

the exorcism itself is a very frightening issue. its very scary and is not for the faint-hearted. not advisable for children or people who are squemish.

its impossible to describe this film in any way, one of those that u have to watch to understand what its all about. the film covers many areas, such as peoples relationship, good and bad, morality, the unknown and ofcourse humanity itself.

great film that can teach us about ourselves and our beliefs. and ofcourse that there are some things which are difficult to explain scientifically.

highly recommended. warning it feels quite a long film and will require u to pay attention.

this is a beautiful film, right from the start. the visuals and sound are very good, particulary on DVD. the surround sound is brilliant, and will surely send chills down your back. the picture quality is outstanding, beautiful use of colours, mist, darkness etc - one of the best ive seen.

the actors are good, not just asthestically (perfect physiques+attire), although, harrison fords performance could have been a bit more realistic. michelle pfeifer is as gorgeous as ever both in her acting and in her looks

with regards to the plot, it is surely one of the finest and most original horror films ever created. a true spectacle, and one that will surely frighten. there at least 2 scenes that will make your heart jump - and thats no exaggeration. this is defintely one of the scariest films ull ever see.

this is an outstanding hollywood blockbuster that is of classic status. one iof the finest horror films made. wonderfully entertaining, as scary as possible and beautfully made. far scarier than suspiria and exorcist

great reason to get a dvd player!

this is a much better film than the average rating suggests. mel gibson is v.good and gives a realistic impression of what it is like to be a father of a teenager. he's also ofcourse very funny and appears very genuine. the actors are v.suitable for their parts too, helen hunt giving a good performance.

from the moment i watched this film i knew i was oing to be hooked. its well directed, great and original storyline (v.rare these days) and is full or great moments. this is indeed a hollywood blockbuster. its the way movies are suppose to be - lightheated, funny, interesting but mainly entertaining.

this film is not to be taken seriously, but is a great laugh. excellent entertainment, and highly recommended.
