Masters of Horror: Imprint (2006)
Season 1, Episode 13
Pretty awful (spoiler)
25 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This was awful! The suspense was OK but why is it that there was ...lets see...NO HORROR..IN THIS MOVIE??!! It was basically just about torture and freaky sister that lives in the woman's head! Billy Drago's character's curiosity after a certain point made no sense. The second he found out who did what to Kokome, he should have slaughtered EVERYONE in the hut, starting with that NASTY she-devil that put all those needles in Kokome. Jeez! Right when I thought maybe that chick was something supernatural like a demon or something, she pops out a hand from her head. I don't know. This movie was just sick. No real horror. Not that all movies have to have something supernatural to be horror but to redeem itself, this movie did!

Not bad but......
5 January 2004
This movie was quite unique with the way it tried to show the on and off conscience of a "cold blooded killer." They should've made the movie a bit more longer with a more complicated storyline and also, the lead actor should've been Michael Jai White and NOT the rapper from Naughty by Nature! Other then that, good fight sequences, adequate storyline and nice humorous moments.

Veerana (1988)
depends
11 December 2003
Honestly, I still think this movie has good horror potential you know why? Because of its low a$$ budget!!! High budget horror movies are not as scary. There's something about low budget horror movies (Halloween part one) that just dominates all other high budget horror movies. I'm the kind of individual that can fall asleep in a haunted house after having just watched exorcist but I still think I can analyze horror movies since I watched them ever since I was a child.

good because its bad
11 December 2003
I loved this movie because of its cheapness! I mean I laughed my butt off the whole way! I actually avoid bollywood horror movies of today cause they are not of Ramsay's anymore. All they do is remake stories verbatim of american movies. Ramsay took a general idea and made it his own.

Tekken 4 (2001 Video Game)
C'mon man!
15 October 2003
I'm glad I only rented this game! I must admit that the animation and aggressive nature of the characters are appealing but I couldn't gain any motivation for playing this game. All of them seem to be rip offs of different games, especially Street Fighter! The Street Fighter series pretty much ruined it for tournament fighting games to have any originality to it. Even Mortal Kombat copied the Scorpion/Sub-Zero thing off of the Ken/Ryu idea in Street Fighter. In summation, Tekken was an over complicated game with too many moves and combos to memorize and almost no reward!!!

Be Aware!! (kind of a spoiler)
15 October 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I rented this movie thinking it was a typical Sandler laugher but it turned out to be more serious. I realized this fact within the first 10-15 min and was thus able to change my expectations. Conclusion? Sandler did a very convincing role of what its like to be forced being a loser, cracking, and then finally finding himself through love. I'm still brain boggled at how Sandler actually pulled off a role like this. I still remember him in that silly thong and trying to grope Kirstie Alley on SNL. I really have to respect the man for being able to do diverse films. Watch this movie but be very aware of the fact that its more of a serious movie and not slap stick comedy. This movie is probably somewhat of a cross between Sleepless in Seattle and American Psycho.

Epic proportions!
11 September 2003
I've been a big fan of their movies ever since I was a child and I must say that this movie is a treat for anyone who finally wants to see Freddy and Jason duke it, in every way possible! Its everything that you might imagine of such a battle. Watch-out Scream and other newbies, let some veterans show you how its done!!!!

Max Payne (2001 Video Game)
DIFFICULT!!! (small spoiler)
19 August 2003
Warning: Spoilers
This game is very depressing, long and difficult, which is why I'm glad I bought it cause its very realistic that way. Max isn't "Superman," he's just got a lot of luck on his side and with your help and obsessiveness, you can track the head of the V drug and bring them to raw justice!!! Remember, practice how to perfect aiming, shoot dodging and learn to pick enemies out one by one as well, instead of just jumping in a room full of guys with guns on you.

Adequate adaptation (small spoiler)
19 August 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Well its been 3 years since I saw the movie and now that I've finally read the book, I decided to comment on it. This movie took out a huge amount of significant gore thats actually in the book. The reason is probably because its not even legal to depict most of the things he (Pat Bateman) does in the novel, on screen! Either way, this book is a real eye and brain opener. Every psychology major should read this! The hidden truth the movie and the book portray (the book even more so) is that people of this kind DO exist in our society and you know what? There's probably a bit of Pat Bateman in all of us.

Extraordinary movie!! (somewhat spoiler)
27 July 2003
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was great! It had a prime, dark gothic feel to it and I could also really feel the atmosphere, because there were no more seats left in the theater and I was sitting way too much in the front but thats a different story. Every character's background seemed to be tweaked a little bit to actually make this "league" possible. Some of you might be upset with that. I know I was when I saw Mina Harker standing in sunlight and not getting burned!!!! Either way, Stuart Townsend as the sly Dorian Gray was EXCELLENT!!!! He has completely made up for being a rotten Lestat in Queen of the Damned. (The time was even too perfect for me, Victorian London, 1890's, the dressing and atmosphere just made me drool!!!!) TOO PERFECT!!!!!!

Acquired taste
9 July 2003
I loved this movie but you have to have the right mind-set for it. You can't take offense at some of the racially tainted jokes. In fact, the entire movie is a "rip" on Chinese martial arts movies, not to mention the poor dubbing job that's usually involved, lol. It's still ground rolling funny once you get into it, especially if you've seen plenty of martial arts films before.

Richard III (1995)
The "glorious" king of Shakespeare! (somewhat spoiler)
9 July 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Portrayed by Sir Ian, Duke Richard of Gloucester wants to be king and no one, not even family will get in his way!!! This is a story of a VERY cold hearted man who will do anything to achieve power. In this adaptation, he even has no interest in women! This production even uses allusions towards Hitler at certain points. Aside from having its hilarious moments at times, this is a superior masterpiece, particularly because of Sir Ian and SHOULD NOT be missed by true Shakespeare students and scholars!

Othello (1995)
Branagh and Fishburne, highly impressive!!
9 July 2003
As my Shakespeare Professor had mentioned, the part of Othello is highly challenging, which is why many don't perfect it or intend to play it. Larry Fishburne however did a magnificent job! He provided us an astonishing portrayal of how even a noble, righteous and even intelligent man, can succumb to "the green eyed monster." The calculatingly evil Iago was FLAWLESSLY portrayed by veteran Shakespearian actor Kenneth Branagh, who occasionally stared into the eyes of the camera itself, explaining his dark plans and expectations.

Van Damme's debut!
9 July 2003
Although he was the villain in this movie, people actually went to see it for Van Damme! The leading hero was prepubescent and had no muscles! It was hard to believe he actually knew martial arts. The truth is that unless you're Jet-Li, you need muscles and a very flexible groin to look good on screen when it comes to martial arts movies. Watching Van Damme do his patented aerial kicks in this movie as a bad guy is a classic experience that shouldn't be missed!! (Both, Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren have played bad guys under the name Ivan! Go fig huh?)

James Cameron?
6 July 2003
I just got back a few hours ago from watching this movie. I must admit that though I enjoyed the battle scenes and explosions, I still liked T2 more. Maybe James Cameron should've directed this one as well. (The T-1000 was cooler, the T-X was just to sexy and desirable to be a villain!)

Eek! The Cat (1992–1997)
Garfield, eat your heart out!
1 July 2003
I liked Garfield but I loved Eek! When I look back on Eek, I realize his girlfriend Annabelle was a horrific reflection of the "then" beautiful Anna Nicole Smith. I mean really.EEEEEEEEKKKK!!!!! This cartoon featured the likes of dinosaurs being fooled by an idealistic neanderthal and a frustrated one! If a miracle occurs and this is back on the air, collect em!!!! I especially loved Mr T REX!!! (you photosynthesized foo!!!!)

(Typical) Italian Job
21 June 2003
I have to admit that I enjoyed this movie but it was like watching Ronin with Bobby Dinero or any of those other Euro movies where people are trying to steal something. If you like those kinds of movies, this IS a good movie, no doubt about it. But if you're like me and the premise alone of thieves being good guys bugs you like crazy, skip this one!!

GREEN GOLIATH!!!!
21 June 2003
I saw HULK yesterday on opening day and I must say that it exceeded my expectations!! I love Lou Ferrignou but this HULK can topple tanks and gain size as his vicious rage progresses!! Do yourself a favor and get into this series cause I know there will be a sequel that will be even better!!!!

The Incredible Hulk (1996–1998)
Out of this world!!!
21 June 2003
Being a cartoon in the 90's, this cartoon did great justice to the HULK in terms of accuracy, destruction, you name it!! The fact that Lou Ferrignou (70's HULK) gave the voice of the HULK in this series makes it pretty interesting to watch, hearing him say "HULK smash!!!, HULK crash!!!" This is currently coming on air. Watch it before they take it off the air soon!!!!!

Batman (1989)
truly dark
17 June 2003
Keaton may not have been the best looking actor to portray batman but he nailed the role when it came to acting!! Not to mention old Jack as JACK!!! This batman movie ruined it for Kilmer and clooney who could not compete with keaton.

Penn & Teller: Bullshit! (2003–2010)
Ah the humanity!!!!
29 May 2003
This show was so good and exposed so much that I actually recomend that you not watch it because once you realize how many stupid people there are in the world, it will cause you to pull your hair out violently. I still can't believe people think walking on glass makes them stronger, cause some overweight woman with possible cholestoral problems said so.

Freeway (1996)
Surprisingly great!
17 May 2003
If you saw Legally Blonde and hurled, then this movie should bring you back to liking Reese Witherspoon. Her acting in this movie is uncanny! She plays this crazy blonde that doesn't really mean to be bad, at least that what she claims! Either way, this is a very funny movie with vulgar jokes, especially when it comes to the women's lockup!

Hamlet (1996)
A sealed deal!
16 May 2003
Branagh's amazing version of Hamlet has set the standard which in my opinion cannot be matched, at least not during this generation! This is the most complete and intense Hamlet to date. I've seen different adaptations including a stage play as well. This is truly a superior work of art that shouldn't be dismissed by true Shakespeare disciples.

Perfect Strangers (1986–1993)
Oozed originality!!
16 May 2003
A typical American guy who's money driven and a simple goat herder from Mipos related?! This show had original sitcom comedy that is rare nowadays. The episode where Larry and Balky try to fit a large sofa in the elevator was hilarious! Sitcoms nowadays are obsolete since stand up comedy and observational humor on life is more desirable these days but there was a time when at least to me, Perfect Strangers was the best TV sitcom out there.

What the? (somewhat spoiler)
12 May 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I was so sure this movie was bad that I got suckered into seeing it, since no one else wanted to see Shallow Hal for some reason. Anyway, by the time the movie ended I couldn't believe that adults wrote the script for this one. I mean c'mon it sounds like a kindergarten story of "the little blonde that could". This movie actually makes blondes look worse. I mean how can you show up at a place with a bunny costume? I was always indifferent to Reese Witherspoon's acting ability. I mean she was real good at getting harassed and beaten by Mark Wahlberg in Fear but after that I was like Reese who? Anyway, I think it's the end of the world when "two Starbucks open on the same street" and a sequel to a movie this dumb comes out!
