Hagiography not a Biopic
13 May 2024
One more film is released in India marketed as a biography.

But, In India true biopics like Oppenheimer are not made because Indians are too emotional to digest the reality of the idols they like(rather worship).

Atal is one of the idol who is worshipped by many as a person who had no shortcoming while he had many. And the makers of the movie could not take the risk of showing those important shortcomings because of the current political landscape of India.

That is why I call it more of a hagiography than the actual biopic. Movie is slow. Fictional stories are made to glorify the main character while those never happened. Pankaj Tripathi again aces the character. A one time watch for Atal followers.

What were they thinking? Poorly made.
27 October 2023
I don't know from where should I start about this?

The movie is an example of poorly written script which goes here and there unnecessarily and confuses it's viewer.

On top of that the way director and editor did their job without giving a thought.

Don't know how much Kangana interfered in that department, but it looks like the movie directed by her. Cinematography, VFX, sequences are so sluggish that they will make you to think of leaving the cinema hall within few minutes.

Kangana is a superb actor, but here she looked weird and childish.

I don't know how to unsee this? Avoidable to the core.

This is called Real Cinema
27 October 2023
12th Fail is a bold movie and movies like this must be made more frequently.

Alas, nowadays making such movies isn't possible easily because masses are more inclined to watch poorly made but highly promoted movies like Kashmir Files or Kerala story.

This will surely inspire many and will give morale boost to many aspirants and will give it's viewer to think after watch.

Direction is superb and acting of Vikrant Messy is top notch.

All Hail Vikrant Massey & Vidhu Vinod Chopra As They Shape The Most Pure, Personal & Brave Hindi Film In A Long Time.

12th Fail deserves an audience, and we, as cinephiles, deserve cinema that respects us. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Vikrant Massey have served one.

Avoidable. Totally different than the real things happened during COVID
30 September 2023
This is one of the worst movie dedicated to Scientists of India.

The way they portrayed the character is the worst thing I have seen in 2023. It was below expectations.

🔥🔥🔥🔥 Nana Patekar role is totally powerful. His emotions and his aggressiveness will blow your mind.

Pallavi Joshi acting is bad. She has become #Nepotism of Vivek Agnihotri.

Raima Sen acting and face expression is top of the world.

In slow scene, u will find hard to avoid sleep.

Instead of showcasing the real portrayal of the hardships faced by the Indians, this was more of a government mouthpiece which totally avoided hard questions on scarcity of oxygen cylinders, underreported deaths, and dead bodies floating in the Ganga.

Watch if you want to live in false paradigm and a blind Modi follower.

Epic Disappointment
20 June 2023
In India when a movie is made on the one of the most celebrated God Lord Shri Ram, an excitement of reliving the epic tale is very common. Indian viewers were eagerly waiting for this one.

After the backlash on the initial trailer launch which postponed the release of the movie and forced creators to rework on VFX, it was expected that the released version will be much better and will do the justice.

Modi government backed lyricist/dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla and BJP supported Om raut are behind this and their blessings can be seen in start the credits of the movie. But, the outcome was exact opposite of what was assumed.

Makers didn't research properly. Costume designs were unimaginable and nowhere near to the characters portrayed in the Hinduism, VFX was not worth Rs 600 crore. Rajamauli can make better VFX based film in the half budget.

But, the weakest link of all was the cringe worthy dialogue writing of Manoj Shukla. He portrayed Lord Hamuman like a Bajrang Dal street fighter which is insult to such a great knowledgeable person(Vidyawan, guni, ati chaatur, Ram Kaaj karibe ko aatur).

Overall, the team involved in the movie collectively ruined the Epic Mythology of Hinduism and should be avoided at any cost.

Below average and subpar
18 June 2023
Not a truthful biopic. A good biopic should be based on well researched facts. So the viewers can get the introduction of the person and know more about him. But, this one is based on fictions and facts were twisted.

Events shown in the movie are fictional and do not match with the real life story and life chronology of Narendra Modi.

Direction is below average. Script is unfaithful and weak. Vivek Oberoi's portrayal of Modi is the weakest thing in the movie. Modi can act better than him.

Demonetization, Godhra, Adani and many more important aspects of the biopic are not shown.

Overall, avoidable and unbearable fiction.

Well Crafted Political Drama
26 February 2023
City of Dreams is a well crafted and executes series. I must say that it is the one of the best Indian web series available on Hotstar. Grahan is another gem.

This one is somehow hidden from many viewers. I guess Hotstar didn't advertise it well.

Storyline and direction of Nagesh Kukunoor is simply awesome.

Unlike many other web series on various OTT platforms this one doesn't seems stretched. It will not let you bored because there is always new Plot twists and developments as they happen in politics.

The tussle for the power and revenge along with emotional outbursts of every major character is simply awesome.

This must have a better rating than the current 7.7 on IMDB. A 9 out of 10 from me. A Must watch for new age netizens.

Best of 2022
7 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This dark comedy cum thriller is story of Jayant(Rajkumar Rao) revolving around Monika Machado(Huma) and Jayant's aspiration of becoming son in law of the businessman who owns the firm where Jayant works.

An event takes place and to save himself Jayant does something which leads him to a loop of troubles.

Script is very nicely written and super direction of Vasant Bala does true justice. Twists and turns are very interesting and will keep you glued to your seats. You will not feel any single moment of boredom. In the year where low quality movies like Kashmir Files, Kantara, KGF2 became huge hits, this one is surely a fresh breeze for the audience.

This one took me to a thrill filled fun ride just like Andhadhun.

Note: If you haven't seen "Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota" by Vasan Bala, Watch it as soon as you finish this one. MKDNH is also a true masterpiece which is surely ahead of it's time.

Better than the original
25 January 2023
Watching the sequel mostly disappoints as the sequels are made to mint the profits based on the popularity of the original.

But, this one is something exceptional. It is far better than the original in every department be it direction, touching the emotional side and zeal/passion of Maverick towards flying.

Special effects can't be compared between the original and sequel because the first one was made when vfx and technology weren't advance as they are in current era, but I prefer "Maverick" because excels in the sections where emotional, human touch were filmed which I felt was not engaging enough in the first one.

I could feel the passion of Maverick towards his hunger to fly like bird and his emotional journey as a protector of Rooster.

A must watch and best of 2022.

Awesome Sequel
6 January 2023
Perfect sequel to the one of the best Thriller of the Indian cinema.

I had watched the Malayalam version so I knew the story. Hindi version is frame by frame copy of the original malayalam version.

All the cast did justice to their roles. Direction is top notch same as the first one.

But, Real hero of such movies are the script writers like Jeethu Joseph who came up with brilliant scripts and the director Abhishek Pathak who did the justice with script. The outcome is another masterclass after Drishyam.

9 out of 10 stars because I have watched the original Malayalam version(10/10) and I feel that Mohanlal was better than Ajay Devgan.

Could be path breaking, but
28 December 2022
Once again Ayushman came up with a movie handling a topic containing social message. Hats off to him.

But, this time weak script could not justify the film. Writers tried to open multiple issues while they should have stick to the main topic and should have concentrated themselves to revolve around it. Instead they opened multiple threads and to mange that they could not do the justice with any of them.

All the cast tried their best. Ayushman was fantastic as always. Shefali was impeccable. Rakul was pretty as usual. Direction was ok. Only if the team could work better on script, this could become the best of 2022.

Disaster. Avoidable
7 November 2022
I would like to know the mindset of the producers, director who thought that this piece of crap can mint money and entertain audience.

From start to end everything was bad. Even a kid can direct better than this.

Dialogues, screenplay, characters, music and everything was trash.

I feel for the viewers who choose to watch this in theatres. This isn't even watchable on OTT or for free.

Ramya, Vijay Deverakonda did act well. Ananya was used as a typical baby doll.

In the climax they made fun of legend Mike Tyson which is not acceptable.

This is exactly how one should never make a movie. Avoid it even if getting a chance to watch it for free.

Visual Treat only. Good Concept ruined
23 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Astraverse could be a path breaking concept in Bollywood just like X-Man or Avengers, but it was ruined by bad script.

Brahmastra is the supreme Astra but can be controlled by Dev and then Shiva. What the hell? It is like Missile can be controlled by a Gun.

Instead, the writer could have shown that 3 pieces are hidden since start and whoever would unite the pieces will become the unbeatable and the most powerful.

In the film It is said that if 3 pieces of Brahmastra are stick together, it will destroy the earth, but The same movie tells the audience that somewhere 30 years ago Brahmastra was in one piece and Shiva's mother broke it in 3 pieces while fighting with Dev. What Crap is this? Who wrote such loose script.

Unnecessary romance and poorly written dialogues were also disappointing.

VFX is the best thing but that also felt repetitive towards the end of the movie.

As always, Bollywood fails to deliver the SCI FI and ruined it.

An eye opener
13 September 2022
This is an eye opener on the current state of Indian news channels in 2022. India is constantly declining on Press freedom index and is currently on 142 place out of 180 countries. This is a matter of shame for largest democracy of the world.

There has been sharp decline in the credibility of the news channels since 2014.

Once media used to report and debate on the real issues faced by the citizen. Now, all toxic debates on religion are done to distract the viewers and polarize them.

The media is now not making it's viewers well informed, but well intolerant.

Ravish Kumar is the only news person left in the mainstream media who is still raising the relevant topics in his prime time. This documentary is all about the right kind of journalism he is doing, and the challenges created by the government to destroy the last ray of hope of Indian journalism.

A Must Watch for all and introspect.

A very good official remake of Forrest Gump. A Morale Booster
5 September 2022
Remaking a cult classic like Forrest Gump is a tough task and in India if someone could have achieved this feat then it was surely Aamir and he has done it nicely.

Story is almost same few references have been changed as per Indian culture.

Runtime is something which could be reduced by 10 minutes from second half, but still the movie would keep the audience glue to their seats.

Dialogues, screenplay, cinematography, performances by all the actors are awesome.

Everyone should watch this official adaptation of the Forrest Gump. I am sure everyone will come out as a better person from the theatre after watch this. We need more Laal Singh Chaddha in our society.

This is no Art
5 September 2022
This is no art. Makers have taken an unfortunate event and distorted it to do something mischievous.

Multiple nonrelative incidents of the history are combined to build in a script to build a narrative which is not good either for the movie or the audience.

Movies based on history should be faithful, chronological and true to the actual events happened, while presenting the story.

Let's come to the implementation side.

Direction is average. So are the dialogues. Mithun, Anupam Kher are doing overacting for long. They should stick to comedy role only.

Darshan Kumar who played the role of Krishna is the only good thing happened to this movie. He is a good actor.

Avoidable. Watch it on your own risk.

Underrated Masterpiece
24 July 2022
The way this movie is hidden from many. In a similar way it was there in my computer's HDD unnoticed.

Today, while I was looking for something to watch, I started watching it to kill the time and clear some of my HDD's space.

But, this one came as a shocker. A very beautifully written, acted and directed masterpiece it is.

It is strange to see low rating of this one. It deserves 9 out of 10 points easily.

It is going to remain in my collection. Later again, One day, I will travel as a beam of light like the K-Paxian.

Better than the current ratings
25 June 2022
Before watching this one, I checked the rating and was not expecting this to be a fun ride.

It is nicely made fun watch which will stick you to your seat.

Hate against this one proves that either Indian masses are not wise enough to understand better cinema or Bots of IT cell of a world's largest Political party deliberately gave negative reviews to the movie because Tapsee is lead in it.

Fiction in the name of History
6 June 2022
It has become a trend in India to make movies in the name of History to milk money and create an alternate version of the history.

This movie is no different.

Production wise it looks ok. Cinematography is upto the mark. But, Canadian actor Akshay Kumar does not do the justice with the role of such a great warrior. Akshay looks like a comedian and should stick to the comedy movies only.

2 stars Out of 10 just for the Sake of Samrat Prithviraj.

Masterpiece
26 January 2022
I don't have enough words to write a review.. It is not just a movie but a feeling, a top class cinema.

Through this movie, I could feel the pain and sufferings Udham Singh would have felt and the determination of this brave son of Mother India.

Movies like this are made once in a while and are remembered for log time.

This is how historical movies should be made.

IMDB should start -ve rating system
29 November 2021
This movie was so bad that I wish IMDB had -ve rating system and -10 out of 10 could be given.

Rohit Shetty and his silly stunts along with childish comedy is not bearable at all. And on top of that watching Buffoon Ranvir, Zubaan keasri chhap Ajay Devgan along with Canada Kumar was torture.

Surprise Package. Nice Movie
14 October 2021
This movie surprised me. I was expecting a simple Bollywood masala Romance movie.

But, this one came as a shocker. Acting by the whole cast is good. Script writing, dialogues, songs are good.

Practical ending made the movie perfect.

A must watch and best of 2021.

Ahead of time. Will be remembered as a cult classic
7 April 2021
This movie is ahead of it's time. Released at the times when majority of Indians still like the pure masala Movies/star power and ignore gems like this. Hoping that someday Indians will have better taste and will start appreciating class movies like this.

SIMPLY Awesome
10 December 2020
Just finished the first season. Hats off to the script writers of series for creating such a masterpiece. Attention to details and dialogues are so crisp that you will relates to the scenes easily. This show will leave a smile on your face when you are watching it and even after you are finished with it.

All the characters are lovely and funny specially Abhishek's (aka JITU ji for fans) assistant Vikas. The show will make you laugh, sad and hopeful time to time.

Highly recommended. Go for it.
